for all of my yakking about romance, i don't really celebrate valentine's day

we're not doing anything special today tomorrow or yesterday

yeah I should say our plans for tomorrow are not really vday related, just the best opportunity for our dinner companions to get a sitter and escape their 11 month old for a while

For us, it's mostly just an excuse to go out for a low-key weeknight date. Nothing candle-lit or rose-petaled, and no stuffed animals or Mylar balloons.

we do a low-key v day as well - our tradition is to make cupcakes (which we did in springfield this past weekend) - tonight we're making dinner and dessert and we'll probably watch a movie or something.

but friday is our first ever date where we'll be hiring a paid babysitter to watch evie. i think we're going to go to the bar/pie place on lincoln to eat pie and drink.

It's a Walgreens. State and Randolph in the same building as the Joffrey Ballet.

Oh! There's a Bricks on Lincoln and Armitage with a basement entrance that does not look like a place where you should be going. Their pizza is really good. I'm glad that the Big Bricks is open now.

no v-day plans here either, just our regular tuesday night potluck with friends.

I didn't know until recently that you can't copyright recipes, so like every one ever is available online

somehow the fact that you can't copyright recipes was one of the first things I learned in library school.

I had no idea. I guess this is why people can reproduce Cook's Illustrated recipes on 1,000,000 internet blogs.

i don't feel a lot of ownership about it since i'm only a few songs and basically just strum-a-strum an autoharp, but it's cool to be on an album that some people might hear, and owen's going to put out the vinyl on his own so i'll be on an actual LP record for the first time.

we're playing at the burlington in logan square on monday night. i know it's a monday but it's also president's day so maybe some of you have the day off. i know i do.

i don't know why you are minimizing your participation -- if i danced around with bells on my feet on any recorded thing i would be stupid excited about it!
