how much did your belle and sebastien t shirt cost? (are the bandages connected?)

haloist, Tuesday, 14 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

oh. I'm sorry. I see the bandages are from the beach incident. You should've been wearing a padded doobie brothers tee shirt instead.

spectral, Tuesday, 14 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I was going to go to TOPSHOP today to buy BEAUTIFUL NEW CLOTHES! However seeing as my credit card has gone AWOL (it is probably underneath a bunch of magazines in the house of mentalism knowing my luck) I am no longer doing so due to poverty in my "real money" account. Waaaah. So I am wearing a burgundy tshirt, a short purple and black Hennes skirt which I think is TOO SHORT, posh work shoes PANTS and TIGHTS and am destined NOT to buy a lovely long skirt like I wanted to. Boo flipping hoo.

Sarah, Tuesday, 14 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Dark blue shirt, black jumper, silvery grey jeans/trousers - I am becoming increasing paranoid about them being too short.

jel --, Tuesday, 14 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Oi Sarah if you want to do some TS shopping tomorrow b4 drinks I can help you out if you know what I mean nudge nudge.

I am wearing a ridiculous new top which is purple (=good) with sort of chiffony sleeves that are slashed all the way to the wrist. I have accessorised with a matching purple rose. It is all quite nu Goffette.

Emma, Tuesday, 14 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I was wondering if blerks (blokes) on the board often drag along birds (any bird that's convenient) when they go clothes shopping. I know I do. ISTR Rob Newman calling this the need for "the stamp of shaggability". I must admit I find the whole process (traipsing, choosing, splurging) easier w bird IN TOW (ha!).

Alan Trewartha, Tuesday, 14 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I totally refuse to go shopping with blerks as they are so rub at it. E.g. attempt to buy old boyf a lovely jumper for Xmas went like this. We go into a shop. 'That one's nice' I say. 'Yes I'll have that one' says he. 'Well why don't we have a look around to see if we can find a nicer one somewhere else?' = look of abject horror on boyf's face and muttered demands to go to the pub instead.

Emma, Tuesday, 14 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I can attest to the ridiculousness of Emma's top. Luckily though she doesn't work in any place with fast moving machinery or exposed cogs so it is unlikely that the frippery which doubles as sleeves will get caugt rending her torso limbless. It does however look rather good on her.

Shopping with anyone in tow is bad enough. Girls intent on a make- over frankly is my recipe for nightmare. And what is wrong weith me buying the first thing I see. More time to see a film.

Pete, Tuesday, 14 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Well thanks for noticing it Pete. So far I am happy to report that my limbs are intact. However the rose keeps getting in the way when I am on the phone.

Emma, Tuesday, 14 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Alan, I find clothes shopping to be something that a man should face alone. My strategy is: "that looks okay, I'll buy it, now I won't have to bother with clothes shopping for a while, right, okay, to the record shop!"...but then, maybe that's why I've ended up with trousers that are too short.

jel --, Tuesday, 14 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Shopping with anyone is horrible. If I want to buy something stupidly expensive or something stupid or walk to some shop miles away the last thing I need is some fool making me feel guilty. I don't think I've ever bought anything when I've gone shopping with other people, I don't like the disturbing insight into how my mind works they might get from watching me select/reject clothes/cds/whatever else.

Today I'm wearing a sky blue freshjive t shirt with an uncle sam type guy, but he's wearing a hockey mask. I'm also wearing fucking adidas runners which I like so much I decided they still fit me. They don't and my toes are close to bleeding.

, Tuesday, 14 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I've got to stop forgetting my fucking name.

Ronan, Tuesday, 14 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I hheart going clothes shopping with girls, whether it be for clothes for them or me, but then I just heart clothes shops for some strange reason.

chris, Tuesday, 14 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I don't think I've answered this on a work day: black suit, black shoes, white shirt, dark red tie - you can check back to this on any work day if you want to know what I'm wearing. Well, occasionally the suit might be dark grey rather than black...

erik, Monday, 26 August 2002 09:15 (twenty-three years ago)

Trakky-daks = tracksuit pants (daks are trousers or pants and so you also have underdaks, which are underpants)

A singlet is, well, a singlet. Umm, a thing without sleeves that you wear under other clothes. Like a tank top but tighter. They're usually made out of ribbed cotton. Like a sleeveless spencer, if you know about spencers.

Crikey, I thought trakky-daks and scruds and singlets were universal. Do the rest of you have flannies, or are they a AUS/NZ thing too?

toraneko (toraneko), Monday, 26 August 2002 11:01 (twenty-three years ago)

Bolt sk8r jeans, with too many fucking pockets and art student stylee visible stitching, jet black tee-shirt with the slogan "POLICE STATE: DO NOT CROSS" over the chest, and ecru Fila trainers. Remember Ecru? Remember it? It's back. In trainer form.
