OK I am not sure but there was a post on CL recently saying that some dude named Ross was suspected of selling stolen bikes.
― dan m, Thursday, 27 September 2007 21:47 (eighteen years ago)
Because I have a taste for drama, I responded.
Why would I take up my time and yours to go see a bike that is I know from the measurements you told me is not suited to my height? I know from experience that I need a 18-19" bike.
But I do have a question for you--why don't you write an accurate ad and not turn into a fuming jerk at the drop of a hat? "GEEZ" indeed!

Apparently a local bar that I've previously written off as lame serves this:
http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1325/1373173673_51899f28d4.jpg
It seems like a great idea, although smores + drinking seems like not such a good idea.
― Jordan, Thursday, 27 September 2007 22:00 (eighteen years ago)
And that local bar is Cosi?
― jaymc, Thursday, 27 September 2007 22:05 (eighteen years ago)
no
― Jordan, Thursday, 27 September 2007 22:05 (eighteen years ago)
I have never been to one of those, but I guess they do the smores thing too?
― Jordan, Thursday, 27 September 2007 22:06 (eighteen years ago)
Some of them do. The ones that also serve liquor, I think.
― jaymc, Thursday, 27 September 2007 22:08 (eighteen years ago)
I am going to see Eastern Promises tonight!
― Jordan, Thursday, 27 September 2007 22:09 (eighteen years ago)
guys, apparently delilah's is celegrating it's 5000th straight day of being open tonight?
― river wolf, Thursday, 27 September 2007 22:12 (eighteen years ago)
cele....grating?
I think an annoying party is a celegration.
― Jordan, Thursday, 27 September 2007 22:14 (eighteen years ago)
delilah's is out of my price range. i may be in uptown tonight if anyone is near the red line. or the ashland bus. or the irving park bus, or the clark bus, or the sheridan bus...
― chicago kevin, Thursday, 27 September 2007 22:17 (eighteen years ago)
i don't think i've even been to delilah's.
tonight: STNNNG v. Melvins v. staying at home like a responsible adult
― river wolf, Thursday, 27 September 2007 22:19 (eighteen years ago)
delilah's = awesome punk rock bar and maybe the best selection of bourbon in the city.

that's because we have a large number of regular posters without jobs. and those with gainful employment aren't really fanatics about it.

― chicago kevin, Friday, 28 September 2007 01:51 (eighteen years ago)
Eastern Promises is good, if you like Russian accents and Viggo Mortensen's balls.

Oh man. The Office. Great. They managed to cram all the funny in 1 hour without all the stupid serious relationship stuff.

We are having band practice tonight but would anyone want to do anything after? Maybe go to Danny's?
― n/a, Friday, 28 September 2007 12:36 (eighteen years ago)
The Office was so great last night. I think my favorite parts were the visual gags - Angela body checking Dwight into the copier and Andy walking out of the bathroom after preparing for the nipple chafing.
― jon /via/ chi 2.0, Friday, 28 September 2007 13:13 (eighteen years ago)
I want to go to Danny's! I've only been once and that was a while ago.
― KitCat, Friday, 28 September 2007 13:23 (eighteen years ago)
I enjoyed the Office but thought it seemed a little off from the last couple of seasons. All the characters seemed ... dumber? But I still laughed.
― n/a, Friday, 28 September 2007 13:26 (eighteen years ago)
"This is the face of rabies."
Yeah, it was pretty great.
― kenan, Friday, 28 September 2007 14:01 (eighteen years ago)
And Pam and Jim were always cute, but holding hands? Dangerous levels of cute.
I think my favorite was Michael's long drawn-out description of the various animal gods they might have to make sacrifices to. Such a weird scene.
"The head of a monkey ... but with ... the antlers of a reindeer ... and the body of ... the body of ... a porcupine."
Also: nipple-chafing jokes.

Also, the MCA is doing a ton of free shit over the next 40 days for their 40th anniversary. Sarah and I might go tomorrow to actually check out the art, but also Oct. 7 is a free concert with Flosstradamus, Cool Kids, Califone, Poster Children, the 1900s, the Eternals, and Headache City.
Event listings here: http://www.mcachicago.org/40/index.php?page=home.
