Monkee Trial (Nasty, Brutish & Short), Saturday, 11 February 2012 15:22 (fourteen years ago)

suarez has consistently said that evra told lies about him and seems to believe this, so why the fuck would he shake his hand?

pandemic, Saturday, 11 February 2012 15:24 (fourteen years ago)

xp if i knew i hadn't and the world was telling me i had then i'd want to stick up for myself.

Chris, Saturday, 11 February 2012 15:24 (fourteen years ago)

Chelsea being fucked by the Pien

a hoy hoy, Saturday, 11 February 2012 15:25 (fourteen years ago)

we are the world

Dr Frogbius (darraghmac), Saturday, 11 February 2012 15:26 (fourteen years ago)

it's not gerry adams and ian paisley, it's a bunch of mostly cunts in a game of cunts trying to win. whether luis waggles his hand up and down for a photo opportunity makes no diff whatsoever, whatever his views are.

I'm going to allow this! (LocalGarda), Saturday, 11 February 2012 15:28 (fourteen years ago)

i mean, nv at pains to use 'inadvertently' there, and that is as kind as an impartial onlooker is going to get- suarez admitted use of a potentially offensive term, ffs

Dr Frogbius (darraghmac), Saturday, 11 February 2012 15:28 (fourteen years ago)

i'm sure suarez couldn't have thought the lack of a handshake would cause this damaging and divisive issue to roll on even further, yeah.

Dr Frogbius (darraghmac), Saturday, 11 February 2012 15:30 (fourteen years ago)

Look, let's just be glad that the better team won and Wayne Rooney reasserted his position as the best English player of his generation

Number None, Saturday, 11 February 2012 15:32 (fourteen years ago)

i can't believe people are still defending suarez.

dalglish is a fucking disgrace.

gyac, Saturday, 11 February 2012 15:34 (fourteen years ago)

eh can i get a result/rundown btw :)

Dr Frogbius (darraghmac), Saturday, 11 February 2012 15:35 (fourteen years ago)

Pogrebnyak has scored for Fulham

Number None, Saturday, 11 February 2012 15:35 (fourteen years ago)

it's delusional to think it makes no diff whatsoever, ronan

caek, Saturday, 11 February 2012 15:35 (fourteen years ago)

Feed the nyak

Ismael Klata, Saturday, 11 February 2012 15:37 (fourteen years ago)

i can't believe people are still defending suarez.

I know, that 115 page report states quite clearly what exactly happened.

Chris, Saturday, 11 February 2012 15:39 (fourteen years ago)

no it's not, it's just a fucking sky sports talking point either way, everyone randy for the camera panning down the line to see what happens. maybe he just wants to get at evra before a massive game. he served his punishment for the actual racial incident, he doesn't have to like evra afterwards. he'd be booed and slated regardless of what he did so why not be the villain anyway, not shaking evra's hand is not a racial incident.

xpost.

I'm going to allow this! (LocalGarda), Saturday, 11 February 2012 15:40 (fourteen years ago)

lol chris

gyac, Saturday, 11 February 2012 15:40 (fourteen years ago)

2-0 now. dempsey got the second.

kid steel (cajunsunday), Saturday, 11 February 2012 15:40 (fourteen years ago)

i'm not saying it should mean something. i'm saying it's disingenuous to pretend it doesn't.

caek, Saturday, 11 February 2012 15:41 (fourteen years ago)

or delusional

caek, Saturday, 11 February 2012 15:41 (fourteen years ago)

what does it mean then? that everything is okay? that suarez is not a racist? that he's sorry?

I'm going to allow this! (LocalGarda), Saturday, 11 February 2012 15:42 (fourteen years ago)

wtf at bbc live feed.

Just come in :

12:40
We are just five minutes away from kick-off at Old Trafford, which is jumping. Patrice Evra is all smiles as he talks to the mascot in the tunnel, ahead of leading the United players out.

Summer Slam! (Ste), Saturday, 11 February 2012 15:43 (fourteen years ago)

you'll get that. With the BBC

Number None, Saturday, 11 February 2012 15:45 (fourteen years ago)

Valencia has been the best player in the league since Christmas. btw

Number None, Saturday, 11 February 2012 15:46 (fourteen years ago)

love ferguson on his high horse about racism, the homophobic prick.

I'm going to allow this! (LocalGarda), Saturday, 11 February 2012 15:47 (fourteen years ago)

fair point. everything is not ok, we all know suarez is probably a massive racist, and he's already made clear he's not sorry.

caek, Saturday, 11 February 2012 15:47 (fourteen years ago)

Martin O'Saviour's Sunderland seems to be going with the tactics 'foul the shit out of Arsenal'.

Sessegnon surely?

a hoy hoy, Saturday, 11 February 2012 15:48 (fourteen years ago)

fair point. everything is not ok, we all know suarez is probably a massive racist, and he's already made clear he's not sorry.

you could actually answer my question but sardonic attacks is all this thread has offered really.

I'm going to allow this! (LocalGarda), Saturday, 11 February 2012 15:49 (fourteen years ago)

it's not happening in a vacuum and it's not restricted to this one incident between Utd and Liverpool either. fact is, Dalglish is clearly backing Suarez to the hilt on the matter so he feels ok with petty shit like this and prolonging it. but there's also the fact that micah richards has just deleted his twitter account due to racist abuse, stan collymore and others frequently receive racist abuse for discussing racism within the game, the tom adeyemi incident...what the attitude of dalglish & suarez says, is it's ok to minimise racism, it doesn't really matter.

would we still be discussing something that happened in October if Evra had received an apology?

gyac, Saturday, 11 February 2012 15:49 (fourteen years ago)

none of the above has anything to do with a stupid fucking handshake.

I'm going to allow this! (LocalGarda), Saturday, 11 February 2012 15:50 (fourteen years ago)

i just don't know what to say when you seem to think accepting that both players and teams are all cunts is the end of it.

caek, Saturday, 11 February 2012 15:50 (fourteen years ago)

ok, would you have liked them to shake hands, or are you seriously not bothered at all?

caek, Saturday, 11 February 2012 15:51 (fourteen years ago)

guys, we're all forgetting that Chelsea are getting beat by Everton.

Summer Slam! (Ste), Saturday, 11 February 2012 15:53 (fourteen years ago)

not hugely bothered, do you think evra still wouldn't have tried to clean suarez's clock in the opening 5 mins? it's a meaningless gesture, players should shake hands after a game.

I'm going to allow this! (LocalGarda), Saturday, 11 February 2012 15:54 (fourteen years ago)

what the attitude of dalglish & suarez says, is it's ok to minimise racism, it doesn't really matter.

wtf. so it's nothing at all to do with the fact they belive he's innocent and that there was no evidence whatsoever? did you lot actually, ya now, read the report?

Chris, Saturday, 11 February 2012 15:54 (fourteen years ago)

and Steve Kean's Blackburn are putting a hurting on QPR

Number None, Saturday, 11 February 2012 15:54 (fourteen years ago)

please. when suarez and lfc have repeatedly smeared evra and basically called him a liar, refusing to shake his hand is a pretty explicit 'fuck you'.

gyac, Saturday, 11 February 2012 15:55 (fourteen years ago)

oh no, an explicit "fuck you" before a derby game. heavens.

I'm going to allow this! (LocalGarda), Saturday, 11 February 2012 15:56 (fourteen years ago)

suarez thinks evra's a liar so obviously he's not gonna shake hands with him. seems pretty clear to me.

pandemic, Saturday, 11 February 2012 15:56 (fourteen years ago)

Dalglish has come out of this the worst. By far

Number None, Saturday, 11 February 2012 15:57 (fourteen years ago)

if there was no evidence whatsoever then, just to be clear, do you think this is a conspiracy? and if so, who is responsible?

caek, Saturday, 11 February 2012 15:57 (fourteen years ago)

Chris, you can believe your player is innocent - i'm pretty sure he admitted saying what he said, but never mind - and you can protest that innocence long after your protest is going to change anything, if you want to. you could still do those things whilst at the same time continually pointing out that racial abuse, witting or not, is utterly unacceptable. Dalglish and the Liverpool ownership could do do those things. they aren't, tho.

dayove cool (Noodle Vague), Saturday, 11 February 2012 15:57 (fourteen years ago)

i wish i had your ennui about this sort of thing ronan

caek, Saturday, 11 February 2012 15:58 (fourteen years ago)

still waiting for confirmation that anyone of you have read all 115 pages of that report btw.

Chris, Saturday, 11 February 2012 15:58 (fourteen years ago)

i have

caek, Saturday, 11 February 2012 15:59 (fourteen years ago)

xp I agree re: Dalglish. to my mind there's no way this would have gone this far without LFC & Dalglish's attitude.

gyac, Saturday, 11 February 2012 15:59 (fourteen years ago)

yes, i read it

Number None, Saturday, 11 February 2012 15:59 (fourteen years ago)

writing this whole thing off as "everybody loves to get at Liverpool FC, tsk banter eh?" is pretty undermining of the seriousness of the alleged offence

dayove cool (Noodle Vague), Saturday, 11 February 2012 15:59 (fourteen years ago)

xposts. dalglish has said that racial abuse is unacceptable, the club have said so in their statements, there was outrage and condemnation from the fans wrt the alleged Adeyemi incident.
