The pile was the Untitled (Portrait of Ross in L.A.) piece. I don't entirely remember what the stack-of-paper piece was. I gather he's done a few different ones. This was at SFMOMA in early 2004.

The pile was at the Art Institute of Chicago, probably around the same time.

i think the Sfmoma one in early 2004 was the same one that may or may not have been there when judith visited in 2010.

i have a mental catalogue of every fgt i have seen irl. sfmoma doesnt figure. poison is great. that sirk thing is the only haynes im eh abt. poison is hilarious and sad and thaemlitz samples it and hot in some of the prison bits.

had a terrific date yesterday - picnic at a park (he made wontons, i made brownies), followed by probably too many drinks at a gay piano bar, late night diner run, and then this morning he made us breakfast. dumb stupid super smart adorable jerks ruining my "be alone forever" policy.

where'd you meet?

it's weird. he found me on OKC over a year ago and we went on one date, and then, for various reasons i don't really want to recount here, we never saw each other again...until i ran into him two weeks ago out of the blue at an art opening, and we made plans to hang out. so this was technically our third date.

i think he's really wonderful and it's nice for a change to actually know for sure that the feeling is mutual.

also when we first got to the piano bar one of the older patrons hit his head on the actual bar and fell unconscious. they had to call in the paramedics.

last night the boy and i went out for a lavish dinner and we got seated next to a gay couple in their 50s, and we caught a few glances from them where it seemed like they were really happy to be sitting next to a younger gay couple? like when we left (before them) the waiter told us that we could take the rose on the table, so i did, and they flashed these huge grins at us. it was cute.

oh and the food was great
