Thank you, Lamp. Everything about it looks like it would be painful to watch but, like I said, I'm willing to suspend disbelief and give it a shot.

I have seen the show twice: once b/c a girl who was in an improv class I took 3 yrs ago had a small role in it (she was one of the bell ringers) and then the most recent ep, b/c I heard it was self-aware abt Zooey's image. Both eps were funnier than I expected but also not really essential.

i havent seen any of the nu-era new girl episodes i saw one abt a wedding and one that was the pilot and one abt finding a dead body or s.thing

Mostly I'm just not a big sitcom person these days. This better be good now.

I get dismissing it out of hand, I did too until my wife made me watch a couple episodes with her. It was just the part about being "aghast" that someone would like it was kinda nagl when you hadn't seen it yourself.

I was about to be all "... dead body?" but then I remembered, that was the Thanksgiving episode

Admittedly that was a pretty strong word but I was genuinely surprised! I was just being honest. Also, I would not go around ILX calling people out for posting things that might not be AGL if I were you. Just saying.

yeah i mean...pretty much nobody defending the show right now really WANTS to or was rooting for it to be good itt last fall. i feel like that kind of grudging, hard won appreciation should be given the benefit of the doubt.

yeah it's a definitely a trad sitcom in that any episode works as a standalone, not really any long term plot to worry about
