Dr Frogbius (darraghmac), Wednesday, 8 February 2012 13:11 (fourteen years ago)

someone tweeted him saying that you can't get lower than working for the murdoch press, he tweeted back that being a a crowd that crushes 39 people to death is worse.

pandemic, Wednesday, 8 February 2012 13:16 (fourteen years ago)

worse=lower

pandemic, Wednesday, 8 February 2012 13:16 (fourteen years ago)

tbf he did have to set the bar pretty low to get beneath taking cash from murdoch

pandemic, Wednesday, 8 February 2012 13:19 (fourteen years ago)

don't think he reached it though.

Alan Shearer (ken c), Wednesday, 8 February 2012 13:39 (fourteen years ago)

and fuck knows Nando wd be even less use out wide

That cross he got to Mata was genius against United, tho

le ralliement du doute et de l'erreur (Michael White), Wednesday, 8 February 2012 15:13 (fourteen years ago)

torres torres torres

just dunno about the guy.

not a cf, prob better on the wing, but ideally point man in a counterattacking team

Chelsea aren't that. Arsenal not a bad shout, I suppose. Bit of a drop for him, but merely reflecting his own performance too.

Dr Frogbius (darraghmac), Wednesday, 8 February 2012 15:18 (fourteen years ago)

so, next spurs manager...

Tottenham are too big now for taking a chance on these guys, and have had their hands burnt by disappointing foreigners too many times. I'm struggling for actual biggish candidates though, unless Moyesey gets his chance at last. Lambert would be an interesting punt.

Ismael Klata, Wednesday, 8 February 2012 16:11 (fourteen years ago)

mourinho

Dr Frogbius (darraghmac), Wednesday, 8 February 2012 16:24 (fourteen years ago)

At a Premiership level - would take Moyes, Brendan Rogers would probably be the best fit but is unproven at the level we're at now (then again, so was Redknapp, so are most of the others), Lambert maybe.

Might happen but would be a horrifying disaster - Mark Hughes

I do wonder whether Mourinho has been eyeing the Spurs job, assuming Mancini wins the league and that the United job isn't coming up for a few years.

Matt DC, Wednesday, 8 February 2012 16:34 (fourteen years ago)

srsly?

The term “hipster racism” from Carmen Van Kerckhove at Racialicious (nakhchivan), Wednesday, 8 February 2012 16:35 (fourteen years ago)

What other big Premiership job is likely to come up any time soon? City maybe, Chelsea maybe but not gonna happen, otherwise?

Matt DC, Wednesday, 8 February 2012 16:42 (fourteen years ago)

would love to see Lucien Favre from Borussia Moenchengladbach. His teams always play a high tempo attacking game and has had great results: led Hertha Belrin to fourth place a few years ago, has turned around Gladbach in a simialar fashion to Redknapp at Spurs, brought in when they were relegation threatened and a year later has them in a champions league position.

mizzell, Wednesday, 8 February 2012 16:44 (fourteen years ago)

jm is like the ultimate megaclub manager, hed sooner go back to inter or chelsea than piss around with some arrivistes with daniel levy controlling expenditure

The term “hipster racism” from Carmen Van Kerckhove at Racialicious (nakhchivan), Wednesday, 8 February 2012 16:45 (fourteen years ago)

like his second season transfers at inter were awes but the first yr was 35m on rapecini and quaresma

Maureen for England over 'arry, though, surely?

James Mitchell, Wednesday, 8 February 2012 16:50 (fourteen years ago)

Bet he'd jump at it if it were offered as well.

James Mitchell, Wednesday, 8 February 2012 16:50 (fourteen years ago)

Yeah I mean he's probably still more likely to sit on his hands and wait for Mancini to fuck up but who knows really.

Matt DC, Wednesday, 8 February 2012 16:51 (fourteen years ago)

Mourinho for Man Utd

Charles Kennedy Jumped Up, He Called 'Oh No'. (Tom D.), Wednesday, 8 February 2012 16:53 (fourteen years ago)

Mourinho's going back to Chelsea imo. With their new stadium plans he'd have the chance to be Chelsea's Wenger AND Chelsea's Mourinho, too tempting to turn down. There's also a certain lack of class about the idea which is very Mourinho.

Ismael Klata, Wednesday, 8 February 2012 16:59 (fourteen years ago)

Hughton

feel like a more conservative manager, bit of steel about him type of thing, is what we'll go for if harry leaves us established top four.

Dr Frogbius (darraghmac), Wednesday, 8 February 2012 17:08 (fourteen years ago)

George Graham it is then

Klinsmann with Sheringham as his assistant.

Warnock could probably get England promoted to the semis

le ralliement du doute et de l'erreur (Michael White), Wednesday, 8 February 2012 17:10 (fourteen years ago)

whichever of the millibandsisn't labour leader for the england job

Dr Frogbius (darraghmac), Wednesday, 8 February 2012 17:14 (fourteen years ago)

How about a swap with England for Capello?

Ancelotti would've been perfect really.

Ismael Klata, Wednesday, 8 February 2012 17:23 (fourteen years ago)

I think Mou prefers London over Manchester, but could see him going to either Spurs, Arsenal or Chelsea tbh.

Is he still pals with Abramovich?

Flag post? I hardly knew her! (Le Bateau Ivre), Wednesday, 8 February 2012 17:36 (fourteen years ago)

i think aspiring to mourinho is at least as realistic as dropping to lambert fwiw

Dr Frogbius (darraghmac), Wednesday, 8 February 2012 17:39 (fourteen years ago)

Yeah surely Mourinho and Abramovich absolutely hate each other and getting Jose back after over four years would basically just be Roman admitting defeat?

Matt DC, Wednesday, 8 February 2012 17:42 (fourteen years ago)

Yes, I for one can't see it happening. Could see him go to Citeh if they fire Mancini, but honestly I think Mou wants to go back to London.

That he will leave Madrid after this season seems a given tbh, no matter what he wins or loses there.

established top 4? when's harry going? in 3 or 4 years?

pandemic, Wednesday, 8 February 2012 18:22 (fourteen years ago)

twice in three, with lfc and arsenal fucked

Dr Frogbius (darraghmac), Wednesday, 8 February 2012 18:26 (fourteen years ago)

Is the assumption that the 'not guilty' verdict means everything's spotless and the FA will have no qualms about taking Harry on now? Because I think that's probably fair enough.

Ismael Klata, Wednesday, 8 February 2012 18:31 (fourteen years ago)

They'll have to do a lot more due diligence before they can safely say everything's spotless.
