I can't say how casual viewers might feel, but for anyone familiar with these characters, I don't know how this show could be anything but a joy week-to-week.
bears repeating

Bradley Whitford, a.k.a. Josh Lyman from The West Wing, will be guest-starring on Parks and Recreation this spring. According to HuffPo, Whitford will play the city councilman vacating the seat Leslie's running for, and the episode includes a bunch of West Wing shout-outs — even the title, "Live Ammo," is an allusion to one of Sam Seaborn's lines in the episode "The Lame Duck Congress" (season two, episode 6, B+). Tragically, Whitford will not be sharing any scenes with Rob Lowe, so that Josh/Sam reunion fantasy some completely sane and capable people may harbor so deeply that it feels real will just have to wait for a few more years.

― Janet Snakehole (VegemiteGrrl), Friday, 10 February 2012 19:45 (fourteen years ago)
Amazing. I love Whitford.
― Mordy, Friday, 10 February 2012 20:02 (fourteen years ago)
Ha, I just called my wife at work to share this news.
― jaymc, Friday, 10 February 2012 20:23 (fourteen years ago)
I can't believe they're not going to throw Whitford and Lowe in a scene together. Seems like the biggest wasted opportunity.
― Johnny Fever, Friday, 10 February 2012 20:24 (fourteen years ago)
Godfather II all over again.
I'm more excited about Louis CK coming back next week tbh.
― encarta it (Gukbe), Friday, 10 February 2012 20:27 (fourteen years ago)
Maybe they hate each other. (I don't really think this is why.)
― trishyb, Friday, 10 February 2012 20:29 (fourteen years ago)
Maybe they love each other too much :D
― Janet Snakehole (VegemiteGrrl), Friday, 10 February 2012 20:32 (fourteen years ago)
louis ck is coming back next week?
excitement!
― rayuela, Friday, 10 February 2012 20:37 (fourteen years ago)
I can see P&R wanting to have fun with the fact that Whitford was on The West Wing, but it's not going to do a bunch of winking metatextual jokes about it like I might expect of 30 Rock or Community.
― jaymc, Friday, 10 February 2012 20:40 (fourteen years ago)
Thankfully

― Janet Snakehole (VegemiteGrrl), Friday, 10 February 2012 21:04 (fourteen years ago)
Maybe not everyone loves Josh as much as we do?
Ha ha ha ha ha, I just saw how crazy that looks written down.
― trishyb, Friday, 10 February 2012 21:07 (fourteen years ago)

Pretty much every time I think of Richard Schiff now I remember that he once had an action figure.
― jaymc, Friday, 10 February 2012 21:14 (fourteen years ago)
(I mean, I remember that ILX thread.)
― jaymc, Friday, 10 February 2012 21:17 (fourteen years ago)
Parks & Rec needs to do a Pawnee wheel of cheese day episode
― Janet Snakehole (VegemiteGrrl), Friday, 10 February 2012 21:28 (fourteen years ago)
I feel like there were elements of that in episodes like "94 Meetings" and "Time Capsule"!
― jaymc, Friday, 10 February 2012 21:35 (fourteen years ago)
oooh that's true, I never thought of that
― Janet Snakehole (VegemiteGrrl), Friday, 10 February 2012 21:45 (fourteen years ago)
I wouldn't be surprised by this, the P & R blooper reel made it pretty clear that most of the cast (and especially Adam Scott) is annoyed by Rob Lowe.
― Nicole, Friday, 10 February 2012 22:01 (fourteen years ago)
Blooper reel?
― jaymc, Friday, 10 February 2012 22:02 (fourteen years ago)

Really? I must see this. I haven't looked at any of the ones with Rob Lowe. That's a shame. I like to think of them as a big happy funtimes cast.
― trishyb, Saturday, 11 February 2012 00:55 (fourteen years ago)
yeah, Adam Scott shoots some amazing annoyed-glares at Lowe
flipped for copyright purposes I guess

― Nhex, Wednesday, 15 February 2012 03:37 (fourteen years ago)
Not sure if it was mentioned on here, but Chris Pratt was pretty great as Scott Hatteberg in Moneyball. It was a very different character for him to the point where I didn't even recognize him at first.
― Moodles, Wednesday, 15 February 2012 22:07 (fourteen years ago)
true, although the part where he says he's most nervous about the ball coming toward him (or whatever - can't remember exactly) was total andy.

― Nicole, Friday, 17 February 2012 01:43 (fourteen years ago)
Louis CK is fantastic and hilarious tonight. He seems way funnier than I remember him being the last time he was on.
― phantompenguin, Friday, 17 February 2012 01:56 (fourteen years ago)
That was great
― (thinks and smiles) (DJP), Friday, 17 February 2012 01:57 (fourteen years ago)
good Adam Scott ep
― congratulations (n/a), Friday, 17 February 2012 01:58 (fourteen years ago)
I didn't know who Louis was last time he was on (as in, I'd never heard of him.)
― President Keyes, Friday, 17 February 2012 15:33 (fourteen years ago)
God that was a great ep. <3 Louis
― Janet Snakehole (VegemiteGrrl), Friday, 17 February 2012 15:51 (fourteen years ago)
Me too! Now I <3 Louis.Xp
― courtnoodle, Friday, 17 February 2012 15:51 (fourteen years ago)
Tom doing his thing towards Anne was way too creepy for me to enjoy this episode. He was like a mentally handicapped child.
― a hoy hoy, Friday, 17 February 2012 15:51 (fourteen years ago)
Ann's reaction to Tom doing his thing was A++ hilarious, though.
― (thinks and smiles) (DJP), Friday, 17 February 2012 16:00 (fourteen years ago)
Every time Tom is about to list things, I brace myself for hilarity. His variations on "boo" were brilliant.
― Let A Man Come In And Do The Cop Porn (Tarfumes The Escape Goat), Friday, 17 February 2012 16:17 (fourteen years ago)
