Aesop Rizzle (a hoy hoy), Friday, 3 February 2012 06:49 (fourteen years ago)

it seems like ppl in the industry REALLY liked Party Down; I am now seeing folks from it all over the place

I spend a lot of time thinking about apricots (DJP), Friday, 3 February 2012 13:29 (fourteen years ago)

was there anyone from party down besides roman + adam scott? i did see lizzy caplan on new girl this week

Mordy, Friday, 3 February 2012 13:32 (fourteen years ago)

Megan Mullaly appears to be attempting to guest star on every sitcom on television atm, plus there's Jane Lynch in Glee and Ken Marino showed up on Whitney (I've also noticed Children's Hospital ppl starting to pop up in movies, as an aside). Also, Ryan Hansen was in some random mid-season replacement show on NBC.

I spend a lot of time thinking about apricots (DJP), Friday, 3 February 2012 13:37 (fourteen years ago)

he was also in happy endings the other week

just sayin, Friday, 3 February 2012 13:41 (fourteen years ago)

Ken Marino deserves better than Whitney. Otoh, who doesn't deserve better than Whitney (other than Whitney herself & her schlubby boyfriend on the show)?

Nicole, Friday, 3 February 2012 13:45 (fourteen years ago)

This show is firing all on cylinders this season, its really amazing how it has all pulled together.

Gonjasufjanstephen O'Malley (jon /via/ chi 2.0), Friday, 3 February 2012 14:36 (fourteen years ago)

I don't think I've ever seen Ron delighted before

I spend a lot of time thinking about apricots (DJP), Friday, 3 February 2012 14:39 (fourteen years ago)

also Little Sebastian continues to bring it from the beyond

I spend a lot of time thinking about apricots (DJP), Friday, 3 February 2012 14:40 (fourteen years ago)

Yeah, that was great. What makes Ron such a great character isn't the "oh here's another thing he hates", its the really slow and casual revealing of things he absolutely adores.

Gonjasufjanstephen O'Malley (jon /via/ chi 2.0), Friday, 3 February 2012 14:41 (fourteen years ago)

love that lil' sebastian's memorial had people there actively mourning on valentine's day night

ban opinions (reddening), Friday, 3 February 2012 17:14 (fourteen years ago)

He's the Princess Diana of tiny horses.

Nicole, Friday, 3 February 2012 17:17 (fourteen years ago)

Too many amazing things last night. Martin Starr turning over the snow globe and saying "it's working now." "Irish? Scottish? White, whatever you are." Ron's love of riddles (I really enjoy when Ron gets giddy about something, it's such a great comic contrast to his usual stoicism).

Also everything Chris Pratt did which is redundant because everything he's done throughout this whole show has been AMAZING, MVP.

all the other twinks with their fucked up dicks (billy), Friday, 3 February 2012 17:51 (fourteen years ago)

Yes, Pratt is just perfect. I can't think of anyone that pulls off physical comedy as well as him, except maybe Ty Burrell. But that gag with the crowbar through the display case was A++.

Gonjasufjanstephen O'Malley (jon /via/ chi 2.0), Friday, 3 February 2012 17:55 (fourteen years ago)

not enough pratt last night

mizzell, Friday, 3 February 2012 18:01 (fourteen years ago)

I demand a Chris Pratt/Ty Burrell buddy comedy

I DIED, Friday, 3 February 2012 19:38 (fourteen years ago)

that could potentially kill people

finally watched. chris staring at jerry was hilarious (they share 50% of the same dna!), as was tom's "buuuuuuuunies" and leslie's scream at seeing them together.

I'm trying to think of all the ways I can inspire you (Abbbottt), Saturday, 4 February 2012 03:46 (fourteen years ago)

I can't say how casual viewers might feel, but for anyone familiar with these characters, I don't know how this show could be anything but a joy week-to-week.

bears repeating

Bradley Whitford, a.k.a. Josh Lyman from The West Wing, will be guest-starring on Parks and Recreation this spring. According to HuffPo, Whitford will play the city councilman vacating the seat Leslie's running for, and the episode includes a bunch of West Wing shout-outs — even the title, "Live Ammo," is an allusion to one of Sam Seaborn's lines in the episode "The Lame Duck Congress" (season two, episode 6, B+). Tragically, Whitford will not be sharing any scenes with Rob Lowe, so that Josh/Sam reunion fantasy some completely sane and capable people may harbor so deeply that it feels real will just have to wait for a few more years.

*runs in circles, pees on rug*

Janet Snakehole (VegemiteGrrl), Friday, 10 February 2012 19:45 (fourteen years ago)

Amazing. I love Whitford.

Mordy, Friday, 10 February 2012 20:02 (fourteen years ago)

Ha, I just called my wife at work to share this news.

jaymc, Friday, 10 February 2012 20:23 (fourteen years ago)

I can't believe they're not going to throw Whitford and Lowe in a scene together. Seems like the biggest wasted opportunity.

Johnny Fever, Friday, 10 February 2012 20:24 (fourteen years ago)

Godfather II all over again.

I'm more excited about Louis CK coming back next week tbh.

Maybe they hate each other. (I don't really think this is why.)

trishyb, Friday, 10 February 2012 20:29 (fourteen years ago)

Maybe they love each other too much :D

Janet Snakehole (VegemiteGrrl), Friday, 10 February 2012 20:32 (fourteen years ago)

louis ck is coming back next week?

excitement!

rayuela, Friday, 10 February 2012 20:37 (fourteen years ago)

I can see P&R wanting to have fun with the fact that Whitford was on The West Wing, but it's not going to do a bunch of winking metatextual jokes about it like I might expect of 30 Rock or Community.

jaymc, Friday, 10 February 2012 20:40 (fourteen years ago)

Thankfully

all the other twinks with their fucked up dicks (billy), Friday, 10 February 2012 20:44 (fourteen years ago)

;_;

but...but...but it's JOSH

Janet Snakehole (VegemiteGrrl), Friday, 10 February 2012 21:04 (fourteen years ago)

Maybe not everyone loves Josh as much as we do?

Ha ha ha ha ha, I just saw how crazy that looks written down.

trishyb, Friday, 10 February 2012 21:07 (fourteen years ago)

they gotta get toby zeigler on board

Mordy, Friday, 10 February 2012 21:09 (fourteen years ago)

mrs landingham was on the mentalist last night. i was so happy she wasn't really dead.

mizzell, Friday, 10 February 2012 21:11 (fourteen years ago)

Johnny Fever, Friday, 10 February 2012 21:12 (fourteen years ago)

Pretty much every time I think of Richard Schiff now I remember that he once had an action figure.

jaymc, Friday, 10 February 2012 21:14 (fourteen years ago)

(I mean, I remember that ILX thread.)

jaymc, Friday, 10 February 2012 21:17 (fourteen years ago)

Parks & Rec needs to do a Pawnee wheel of cheese day episode

Janet Snakehole (VegemiteGrrl), Friday, 10 February 2012 21:28 (fourteen years ago)

I feel like there were elements of that in episodes like "94 Meetings" and "Time Capsule"!

jaymc, Friday, 10 February 2012 21:35 (fourteen years ago)

oooh that's true, I never thought of that

Janet Snakehole (VegemiteGrrl), Friday, 10 February 2012 21:45 (fourteen years ago)

Maybe they hate each other. (I don't really think this is why.)

I wouldn't be surprised by this, the P & R blooper reel made it pretty clear that most of the cast (and especially Adam Scott) is annoyed by Rob Lowe.

Nicole, Friday, 10 February 2012 22:01 (fourteen years ago)

Blooper reel?
