teaky frigger (darraghmac), Wednesday, 1 February 2012 00:28 (fourteen years ago)

Number None, Wednesday, 1 February 2012 00:31 (fourteen years ago)

thank fuck we've not gone all headless chicken and let this recent poor run panic us into strengthening the squad

summer sun, something's begun, but uh-oh those tumblr whites (Noodle Vague), Wednesday, 1 February 2012 02:40 (fourteen years ago)

Pav should do well at Lokomotiv. Obviously sad to see him go but it's good that they've stopped fucking him about.

Mohombi Khush Hua (ShariVari), Wednesday, 1 February 2012 06:28 (fourteen years ago)

RIP BBC Sport.

James Mitchell, Wednesday, 1 February 2012 07:34 (fourteen years ago)

and it was all yellow

is it hrostep? (cozen), Wednesday, 1 February 2012 07:45 (fourteen years ago)

Speaking of the striker after Tottenham's 3-1 victory over Wigan on Tuesday evening, Redknapp told Sky Sports News: "I like Saha.

"He's got good movement, can score goals but probably needs a change. He's out of contract at the end of the year so David Moyes has let him go.

"I can remember speaking to Rio Ferdinand and he said he was the best forward he'd played against."

Rio Ferdinand of the "has a terrible memory" fame?

James Mitchell, Wednesday, 1 February 2012 09:09 (fourteen years ago)

Saha's an outstanding forward imo, at least until recently, but his injury record is terrible and he must be what, 32 by now? He'd be a good short-term punt, except Spiders already have a hungry Defoe.

Ismael Klata, Wednesday, 1 February 2012 09:16 (fourteen years ago)

At his best Saha is no doubt better than van Persie, Henry, Bergkamp, Messi, Klose, Aguero, Kris Boyd, etc.

James Mitchell, Wednesday, 1 February 2012 09:30 (fourteen years ago)

some of that is true

Ismael Klata, Wednesday, 1 February 2012 09:31 (fourteen years ago)

i don't know what to think about the fact that Bassong can factually only improve our back line.

dayove cool (Noodle Vague), Wednesday, 1 February 2012 10:29 (fourteen years ago)

Realistically all Saha's going to do is sit on our bench as cover I think, they've obviously realised if we're only going to play one striker at a time we might as well sell Pav for a reasonable sum while we still can. I love Pav but really he deserves to be playing week in week out somewhere. Saha won't piss and whine about being on the bench. He used to be great but he isn't any more, although he might be a decent impact sub when he's not injured.

Shit, he's basically the new Michael Owen.

Matt DC, Wednesday, 1 February 2012 10:43 (fourteen years ago)

Saha's lost it far less than Owen imo

dayove cool (Noodle Vague), Wednesday, 1 February 2012 10:46 (fourteen years ago)

Louis Saha for Everton: 35 goals in 115 appearances
Michael Owen for Manchester Utd: 17 goals in 52 appearances

Number None, Wednesday, 1 February 2012 10:57 (fourteen years ago)

one of those is playing for Everton, the other is coming on for United when they're playing against part-timers

dayove cool (Noodle Vague), Wednesday, 1 February 2012 10:59 (fourteen years ago)

Have Everton got any forwards at all now?

Charles Kennedy Jumped Up, He Called 'Oh No'. (Tom D.), Wednesday, 1 February 2012 11:00 (fourteen years ago)

nah i know, just presenting the stats. I think it's much of a muchness though. You really aren't going to get much out of Saha these days

Number None, Wednesday, 1 February 2012 11:01 (fourteen years ago)

They signed Jelavic yesterday

Number None, Wednesday, 1 February 2012 11:01 (fourteen years ago)

Saha doesn't seem worth a contract by sheer dint of his injury record, agreed

dayove cool (Noodle Vague), Wednesday, 1 February 2012 11:02 (fourteen years ago)

Jelavic, Vellios, a couple of young lads who look alright xp

Ismael Klata, Wednesday, 1 February 2012 11:02 (fourteen years ago)

Tim Cahill's chipping in with a goal a year, they'll be fine.

ERIC CANONTA FOR PRESIDETN! (onimo), Wednesday, 1 February 2012 11:03 (fourteen years ago)

Forgot about Jelavic. Stracqua... Starcq... Stra... some Argentinian bloke

Charles Kennedy Jumped Up, He Called 'Oh No'. (Tom D.), Wednesday, 1 February 2012 11:03 (fourteen years ago)

So Terry has to be in court as late as July 9. He can play the Euros carefree now and win it for England! Aren't yall psyched?

Flag post? I hardly knew her! (Le Bateau Ivre), Wednesday, 1 February 2012 11:39 (fourteen years ago)

flags post o fu (darraghmac), Wednesday, 1 February 2012 11:48 (fourteen years ago)

Lee Bowyer was amazing until his trial, so it could happen

Ismael Klata, Wednesday, 1 February 2012 11:54 (fourteen years ago)

not that Bowyer and Terry are similar

Ismael Klata, Wednesday, 1 February 2012 11:55 (fourteen years ago)

Yeah, Bowyer's not completely detestable for one

Charles Kennedy Jumped Up, He Called 'Oh No'. (Tom D.), Wednesday, 1 February 2012 11:59 (fourteen years ago)

Ryan Nelsen to Spurs?

Charles Kennedy Jumped Up, He Called 'Oh No'. (Tom D.), Wednesday, 1 February 2012 12:16 (fourteen years ago)

it's not the distinction I'd've chosen tbh

Ismael Klata, Wednesday, 1 February 2012 12:29 (fourteen years ago)

Terry's not ginger

dayove cool (Noodle Vague), Wednesday, 1 February 2012 12:31 (fourteen years ago)

Gorblimey, leave it aht, you tryin' to say Lee Bowyer's an iron?

Charles Kennedy Jumped Up, He Called 'Oh No'. (Tom D.), Wednesday, 1 February 2012 12:33 (fourteen years ago)

WTH have the BBC done to their Football website. Colour...everywhere. And what's this? McNulty doing pieces to camera? Must.Resist.Urge. To find out if his writing style is mirrored by his speech.

pandemic, Wednesday, 1 February 2012 12:59 (fourteen years ago)

It's horrible.

ERIC CANONTA FOR PRESIDETN! (onimo), Wednesday, 1 February 2012 13:00 (fourteen years ago)

It's like they asked Carles from Hipster Runoff to design it, the coloured rectangular squares and all.

Flag post? I hardly knew her! (Le Bateau Ivre), Wednesday, 1 February 2012 13:02 (fourteen years ago)

And they appear to have done away with European Club Football (except Ch Lge and Europa). Used to go there to look up fixtures and tables. Bah!

pandemic, Wednesday, 1 February 2012 13:02 (fourteen years ago)

oh it's still there. I was being dim. Still it is a right eyesore.

pandemic, Wednesday, 1 February 2012 13:03 (fourteen years ago)

fucks sake like their site wasn't slow enough loading

flags post o fu (darraghmac), Wednesday, 1 February 2012 13:05 (fourteen years ago)

Wilshere stress fracture in his right foot. That wasn't the previous injury was it? Think it was his ankle.

pandemic, Wednesday, 1 February 2012 13:10 (fourteen years ago)

Tim Cahill's chipping in with a goal a year, they'll be fine

Can you chip with your head?

RIP Grayson and also BBC having a website I could look at.

Excited to see Miyaichi at Bolton on loan. Arsenal fans on the internet still call him 'the next Christiano Ronaldo' which I think is hilar, especially given my own history of hyping Arsenal youngsters but everyones optimism towards him does get me excited. Wilshere was as good as the hype suggested at Bolton, hopefully Ryooooooooooooooooo can do too. If only so I can do my Hacksaw Jim Duggan impression when he scores.

Aesop Rizzle (a hoy hoy), Wednesday, 1 February 2012 18:28 (fourteen years ago)

The CR comparison is silly, just like almost every comparison of a hot prospect with CR or Messi. But I too can't wait to see him play again; he was a minor sensation at Feyenoord.
