any truth in the rumour carroll's been wearing a shirt under his top, to be revealed when he scores, that says "save the chilean miners"

We'll never know.

Would like to see it mistakenly included in highlights package on the official website.

Steffen Iversen's six-year-old son, Joey James, joins Spurs.

James Mitchell, Tuesday, 31 January 2012 07:27 (fourteen years ago)

Deadline day delivers.

Are they really called Tottenham Spiders in Norwegian?

Ismael Klata, Tuesday, 31 January 2012 09:00 (fourteen years ago)

Guessing that, despite being linked to 8,000 mediocre players (and Kaka), this will be the most significant transfer Spurs will make all day.

Matt DC, Tuesday, 31 January 2012 09:47 (fourteen years ago)

Spiders, you mean

Number None, Tuesday, 31 January 2012 09:48 (fourteen years ago)

i'm calling them that from now on

Must be some other transfer news on the web.

James Mitchell, Tuesday, 31 January 2012 09:54 (fourteen years ago)

Ravel Morrison is off to West Ham. Guess Barcelona reconsidered.

xp How can this guy allow this to happen? What's his thinking? I mean, I've let opportunities go by through stupidity, but I'm pretty sure I'd've spotted that keeping my head down and giving it a go at Utd would be the thing to do here.

annoyed by the signing of reus and already having 12000 better players in his way, we are supposedly going for the new new new gotze.

Aesop Rizzle (a hoy hoy), Tuesday, 31 January 2012 10:09 (fourteen years ago)

Is Jelavic any good? It's not right, Everton being the big spenders.

Ismael Klata, Tuesday, 31 January 2012 10:20 (fourteen years ago)

I'm pretty sure it's the club who've called time on Morrison, Ismael. Too many second chances.

Number None, Tuesday, 31 January 2012 10:23 (fourteen years ago)

Disappointed my spider / web pun provoked no lols.

I get the impression that no-one on ILX or anywhere else can really explain the interior life of Ravel Morrison

Number None, Tuesday, 31 January 2012 10:25 (fourteen years ago)

jeez

Manchester United's goalkeeping crisis deepened on Monday when David de Gea called in sick and Anders Lindegaard left the training ground on crutches.
De Gea was surprisingly recalled to the United line-up in place of Lindegaard for Saturday's FA Cup defeat at Liverpool following a four-match absence, but the young Spaniard was widely criticised for another uncertain performance.
It presented manager Sir Alex Ferguson with a difficult choice ahead of tonight's Premier League clash with Stoke at Old Trafford, but the United manager's options narrowed dramatically yesterday morning.
First, De Gea phoned to say that he was unwell and would not be coming in to train, then Lindegaard was injured during the session at Carrington and went home on crutches with his right foot in a protective boot.

Number None, Tuesday, 31 January 2012 10:29 (fourteen years ago)

spider, web - lolling now James

I know it's the club kicking him out btw, what I meant was how can he not take one of these second chances? It's not like being a pro footballer is a particularly demanding lifestyle, especially set against the rewards; and I bet Utd have been bending over backwards, if he's as good as everyone says he is.

Is Rio fit?

Ismael Klata, Tuesday, 31 January 2012 10:30 (fourteen years ago)

Rio is a maybe i think.

Number None, Tuesday, 31 January 2012 10:33 (fourteen years ago)

Is Jelavic any good?

Not really. Rangers seems to have drained the life from him, he's been mostly pish all season. Looked OK to start with when he came up here, but not any more.

Everton being stupid afaic forking out money for someone who's probably about to be made redundant shortly anyway.

ailsa, Tuesday, 31 January 2012 10:39 (fourteen years ago)

although it's no doubt an appalling personal choice, i'm enjoying someone just saying 'i'm too good to be a reserve player' when it might actually be true for once

teaky frigger (darraghmac), Tuesday, 31 January 2012 10:43 (fourteen years ago)

Lindegaard apart, I can't imagine Ferguson's impressed with de Gea taking a sickie in face of Huth et al, only a couple of days after being pushed around at Anfield. The lad could've timed it better.

Ismael Klata, Tuesday, 31 January 2012 10:45 (fourteen years ago)

i'm enjoying someone just saying 'i'm too good to be a reserve player' when it might actually be true for once

So why not take a loan to a Championship side, rather than a permanent transfer? He's been turfed out. End of story.

Number None, Tuesday, 31 January 2012 10:47 (fourteen years ago)

he might be really sick

teaky frigger (darraghmac), Tuesday, 31 January 2012 10:47 (fourteen years ago)

what a horribly formed "joke"

Number None, Tuesday, 31 January 2012 10:49 (fourteen years ago)

Of course, but do you think that's crossed Ferguson's mind?

Ismael Klata, Tuesday, 31 January 2012 10:50 (fourteen years ago)

My interpretation of the whole saga is that Morrison and agent realised the club had given up, started trying to drum up interest by planting Barcelona/City/whoever rumours and have now had to settle for what they can get.

Number None, Tuesday, 31 January 2012 10:54 (fourteen years ago)

I haven't seen West Ham this year, but from what I hear about them there'd be better places for a Scholes type to play his football.

Ismael Klata, Tuesday, 31 January 2012 10:59 (fourteen years ago)

Morrison probably has some raw talent but is clearly a fuckwit, wouldn't be surprised if Man United had given up on him. If he was actually that good:

- He'd have played more in United's worst injury crisis in years
- He'd be going somewhere a lot better than West Ham. If he's on his way to West Ham it means even QPR don't want him, and they'll buy any old shit.

Matt DC, Tuesday, 31 January 2012 11:02 (fourteen years ago)

No results found for "future ballon d'or winner Ravel Morrison".

James Mitchell, Tuesday, 31 January 2012 11:10 (fourteen years ago)

Djbril Cisse coming back to the Prem then. Judging from what I've seen of Lazio this season QPR fans can expect a minimum of six 30 yard 'shots' per game miles over the bar from him. Exciting.

Will always love him for scoring his pen.

teaky frigger (darraghmac), Tuesday, 31 January 2012 13:16 (fourteen years ago)

This appears to be a thing, albeit a thing that makes sense to absolutely no one. Unless Everton desperately want him off their wage bill and we desperately want someone else to sit on our bench.

Matt DC, Tuesday, 31 January 2012 13:18 (fourteen years ago)

Not really. Rangers seems to have drained the life from him, he's been mostly pish all season. Looked OK to start with when he came up here, but not any more.

I think he's of Premier League standard. Good with back to goal, runs the channels, strong, shoots on sight, good goals record, doesn't look overly arsed about anything ever. I'm delighted he's leaving Rangers.

I'd rather he stayed, went on strike as a result like he did at Rapid, and drained them of his wages without doing anything in return for the rest of the season.

Still, David Healy up front on his own will be lol in its own delightful way.
