Think Kenny should take a lot of the blame for thinking Gerrard-Adam is a centre midfield partnership in 2012. The week after playing five at the back vs Stoke at Anfield.

oh come on stevie, suuure on paper you might have seen a five man backline but the way they lined up was actually an eight man centre midfield

when are the scouse going to wake up and realise king kenny is shite?

zverotic discourse (jim in glasgow), Sunday, 22 January 2012 00:26 (fourteen years ago)

hopefully not soon. because for a neutral i get inordinate pleasure in watching liverpool get done. almost as good as seeing arsenal beaten.

zverotic discourse (jim in glasgow), Sunday, 22 January 2012 00:38 (fourteen years ago)

Loads of great goals tonight with hardly a big club in sight.

Custom table since weekend of 10/11th December shows Sunderland in second. Mad Martin can do no wrong so far, especially when you look at the shite they played under Bruce.

ERIC CANONTA FOR PRESIDETN! (onimo), Sunday, 22 January 2012 01:32 (fourteen years ago)

The weekend will only be saved by City and Arsenal winning today. At a push I'll accept only a Man City victory.

So glad the LFC game was on too late for me to watch.

Chelsea to act over alleged racist chants after Norwich match

Another Wein bites the dust (Le Bateau Ivre), Sunday, 22 January 2012 11:47 (fourteen years ago)

Liverpool looked awful yesterday but their defence, which is very good generally, had an off-day. I get the feeling they miss Lucas badly, a team like Bolton should not be able to run through yr midfield like that.

For all the talk about Suarez he hasn't actually scored that many goals this season, but he's clearly their best creative spark by miles. Adam should really be playing better than he is as well.

Generally, they look like a badly-balanced, ill-assembled Damien Comolli squad. Plus ca change.

Meanwhile Fulham are playing like a proper Martin Jol team, alternately heroic and calamitous. <3

Matt DC, Sunday, 22 January 2012 12:12 (fourteen years ago)

Mad psyched about today anyway. I was more confident before I'd remembered that Adebayor can't actually play today. Redknapp should really have given Defoe a run the team prior to this game, but he's manifestly unsuited to playing a lone striker. We need Bale through the middle at his best I reckon.

I should get on and get to the pub really.

Matt DC, Sunday, 22 January 2012 12:15 (fourteen years ago)

That Chelsea story isn't surprising is it, isn't it Chelsea that hisses at Spurs games?

gyac, Sunday, 22 January 2012 12:16 (fourteen years ago)

a less hungover guy than me might be calling for mick mccarthy's sacking today

Worst-case scenario today is Spurs beat City and get cocky, thereby derailing both their challenges, while Utd beat Arsenal and kick on from there. So I guess an Arsenal win is what I'm after.

This is wrong on quite literally *several* levels. This is a great weekend which can only be marred by City and Arsenal winning today.

Worst-case scenario today is Spurs beat City and get cocky, thereby derailing both their challenges, while Utd beat Arsenal and kick on from there

No, no, no - what's wrong with you people?

Cuthbert, Dibble & Grubb (Nasty, Brutish & Short), Sunday, 22 January 2012 13:20 (fourteen years ago)

don't know why people can't warm to united and their delightfully self-deprecating manager tbh :)

Amazing from Clichy there

Worst corner ever

Cuthbert, Dibble & Grubb (Nasty, Brutish & Short), Sunday, 22 January 2012 13:44 (fourteen years ago)

defoe on his own is ridic tbh, psv all day

waning white energy (darraghmac), Sunday, 22 January 2012 13:51 (fourteen years ago)

gotta go with defoe for his goal scoring record this year and work rate, up to the players to stop expecting him to win headers. bae having one of his poor crossing days.

mizzell, Sunday, 22 January 2012 13:59 (fourteen years ago)

is this Hartson or Coleman thinking that David Silva is called da Silva?

what a pass. What a run.

EZ Snappin, Sunday, 22 January 2012 14:42 (fourteen years ago)

That was a bit good

Woucher! (Nasty, Brutish & Short), Sunday, 22 January 2012 14:43 (fourteen years ago)

The weight on the pass and the perfect lead Silva gave Nasri was spectacular.

EZ Snappin, Sunday, 22 January 2012 14:44 (fourteen years ago)

That one was just ugly.

EZ Snappin, Sunday, 22 January 2012 14:46 (fourteen years ago)

Spurs had just started to look dangerous and then this happened

Woucher! (Nasty, Brutish & Short), Sunday, 22 January 2012 14:46 (fourteen years ago)

clinical finish from lescott

mizzell, Sunday, 22 January 2012 14:46 (fourteen years ago)

lescott scoring by dragging the ball over the line with his arse, nice one.

sunn :o))) (Merdeyeux), Sunday, 22 January 2012 14:46 (fourteen years ago)

What an embarrassing way to score a goal ...

boxall, Sunday, 22 January 2012 14:46 (fourteen years ago)

and boom.

EZ Snappin, Sunday, 22 January 2012 14:47 (fourteen years ago)

YES! Come on Spurs

Woucher! (Nasty, Brutish & Short), Sunday, 22 January 2012 14:47 (fourteen years ago)

I can imagine an alternate reality in which B. Ivanovic is capocannoniere.

Woo! Best league in the world

Woucher! (Nasty, Brutish & Short), Sunday, 22 January 2012 14:53 (fourteen years ago)

This game is getting goofy after a tentative and a dull first half. Not sure if that makes it better or not, but it's definitely goofy.

EZ Snappin, Sunday, 22 January 2012 14:53 (fourteen years ago)

Fuck, I've picked the wrong 20 minutes to pop out, haven't I?

Ismael Klata, Sunday, 22 January 2012 15:03 (fourteen years ago)

Can somebody tell Coleman that Lescott's first name is *not* Julian?

Woucher! (Nasty, Brutish & Short), Sunday, 22 January 2012 15:06 (fourteen years ago)

odds on balotelli getting subbed?

banterdict cumberswag (cozen), Sunday, 22 January 2012 15:10 (fourteen years ago)

Coleman is bloody awful

Ismael Klata, Sunday, 22 January 2012 15:11 (fourteen years ago)

Could easily have been sent off then if the ref had seen it. Same goes for Julian earlier.

Woucher! (Nasty, Brutish & Short), Sunday, 22 January 2012 15:11 (fourteen years ago)

Ooh, that might've been a stamp right enough

Ismael Klata, Sunday, 22 January 2012 15:11 (fourteen years ago)

he was pretty off balance, hard to see as intentional, imo

mizzell, Sunday, 22 January 2012 15:13 (fourteen years ago)

oh
