it's stopped snowing here, but we still have a solid couple inches on the ground. a kid just snowboarded down the hill.

no snow here (Toronto). 9°c (not sure what that is in your devil temperature) and raining.

i was nice and looked it up: 48.2°F.

i have never seen a clearer sky in all my life. grrr.

I'm one of 5 intrepid souls (aka people who live on the hills and can walk) who made it in today.

From my office, I can see people snowboarding down the Denny St. hill.

oh man! Sliding down Denny seems like it would shoot you all the way down to the waterfront!

On the upside, not a lot of traffic on I-5

stuck here in south tacoma, waiting in hopes that someone else will go get wood for the fire. is beautiful out, buried in white. just saw a squirrel hop out through the snow and dig around at the base of a tree for a stashed peanut.

probably 7-8" at this point, still coming down, though slowly

i feel like i'm the only person i know who's working today, walked about a mile and a half and took a bus. Tons of people out skiing, having snowball fights etc. Everyone at my job working day shift called out.

at Bellevue and Belmont we have beer, tubing/ pizza pan riding and corgis...as usual

i wish i was there. miss u guys.

The NPR station over here on the other side of the state started today by saying something like "we're pretty sure that every school west of the cascades is closed".

School is closed tomorrow already here anyway because we're supposed to get a foot tonight but I'll believe when I see it.

there has been snowboarding and sledding on my street today, but it's not nearly as steep as queen anne. we have a good half a foot of snow at least.

It's a sheet of solid ice! The snow looks so strange, like shiny sculpted plastic!

very strange out. everything's so clicky. is it rain or ice falling?

gotta get home (wallingford) from lake city in a few minutes, really hope the buses are running.

Travel safe JoeStork! It's very weird out. "Light freezing rain mist" is what they are calling it. Teeny tiny droplets that freeze when they hit something. Mr. Jaq is thinking about going outside - he might end up glazed like a krispy kreme!

The pellet-y stuff is called graupel.
I had a really slick walk to work and, again, only 5 of us made it in.

okay so: it's really graupelling over here! the constant taptaptapping is a little crazy-making.
