Ismael Klata, Sunday, 15 January 2012 17:31 (fourteen years ago)

Le Bateau Ivre is clearly two minutes behind the rest of us

James Mitchell, Sunday, 15 January 2012 17:31 (fourteen years ago)

Aesop Rizzle (a hoy hoy), Sunday, 15 January 2012 17:31 (fourteen years ago)

zverotic discourse (jim in glasgow), Sunday, 15 January 2012 17:32 (fourteen years ago)

mertesacker! haaaaaaaaa

zverotic discourse (jim in glasgow), Sunday, 15 January 2012 17:32 (fourteen years ago)

you wouldn't stream a car

Number None, Sunday, 15 January 2012 17:32 (fourteen years ago)

home streaming is killing football

Ismael Klata, Sunday, 15 January 2012 17:33 (fourteen years ago)

Easier to score than miss there Per.

James Mitchell, Sunday, 15 January 2012 17:33 (fourteen years ago)

James, damnit I am!

I certainly wouldn't have, but hey. (Le Bateau Ivre), Sunday, 15 January 2012 17:34 (fourteen years ago)

mertesacker looks constantly tortured

sonderangerbot, Sunday, 15 January 2012 17:34 (fourteen years ago)

Rosicky passing to the opposition while Henry is right next to him and in space - it seriously is like he never left.

Aesop Rizzle (a hoy hoy), Sunday, 15 January 2012 17:35 (fourteen years ago)

you can hear Tyler getting ready to unleash any time the ball goes near Henry

Number None, Sunday, 15 January 2012 17:35 (fourteen years ago)

Bloodzeed is a pretty handy guy to have around for people who want to watch football online but is he not like a bit of an idiot linking to his twitter and making himself visibly like that one guy on the Internet who steals football for everyone

MPx4A, Sunday, 15 January 2012 17:36 (fourteen years ago)

Oof, that should've been 4-2 tbh

I certainly wouldn't have, but hey. (Le Bateau Ivre), Sunday, 15 January 2012 17:40 (fourteen years ago)

Bloodzeed is a bloody spud, hope he gets busted.

James Mitchell, Sunday, 15 January 2012 17:40 (fourteen years ago)

spuds have enough trouble w/ the law atm iirc

Aesop Rizzle (a hoy hoy), Sunday, 15 January 2012 17:41 (fourteen years ago)

Swansea are walking this. Love their play

I certainly wouldn't have, but hey. (Le Bateau Ivre), Sunday, 15 January 2012 17:46 (fourteen years ago)

wtf is wenger wearing? he looks ridiculous.

pandemic, Sunday, 15 January 2012 17:47 (fourteen years ago)

sleeping bag lady

til the power failure (darraghmac), Sunday, 15 January 2012 17:48 (fourteen years ago)

Are there any actual superstars in this team or is it just a case of Brendan Rogers is the next great manager? He has been hyped through the roof for a couple years but when he fell apart at Reading, it kinda all disappeared.

Helps that we are just so tame. No Arteta, no Wilshere, no threat from the wings, full backs are centre halves who don't naturally spread the play&possession...

Aesop Rizzle (a hoy hoy), Sunday, 15 January 2012 17:50 (fourteen years ago)

Wenger has always rocked the michelin man coat.

Aesop Rizzle (a hoy hoy), Sunday, 15 January 2012 17:50 (fourteen years ago)

when is wilshere due back?

pandemic, Sunday, 15 January 2012 17:51 (fourteen years ago)

wenger sporting "the avb position", aka "the crapper"

I certainly wouldn't have, but hey. (Le Bateau Ivre), Sunday, 15 January 2012 17:51 (fourteen years ago)

This season whoever finishes 4th doesn't deserve to play in the Champions Lge if it's one of Arsenal/Chelsea/LFC. All v v poor.

Swansea were good tho

pandemic, Sunday, 15 January 2012 17:54 (fourteen years ago)

Wenger has now resorted to shitting on the pitch

James Mitchell, Sunday, 15 January 2012 17:55 (fourteen years ago)

jesus steady on, one of those teams could still get third tbf

til the power failure (darraghmac), Sunday, 15 January 2012 17:55 (fourteen years ago)

that is probably my favourite non-Spurs result of the season thus far

James Mitchell, Sunday, 15 January 2012 17:56 (fourteen years ago)

Swansea up to tenth! Gotta hand it to them tbh

I certainly wouldn't have, but hey. (Le Bateau Ivre), Sunday, 15 January 2012 17:56 (fourteen years ago)

top quality intense stoppage-time whistling from their fans, but they saw it out pretty calmly all told

MPx4A, Sunday, 15 January 2012 17:58 (fourteen years ago)

Newcastle deserve fourth, except that it's damning that they don't have it already

Ismael Klata, Sunday, 15 January 2012 18:03 (fourteen years ago)

I was born to hate Newcastle and devotedly did so all my life but this season they are just really, really good and I am warming to them. They couldn't have done it with even Shearer's ghost still haunting that team tbh

I certainly wouldn't have, but hey. (Le Bateau Ivre), Sunday, 15 January 2012 18:04 (fourteen years ago)

From J, via text: "Wenger complains teams never engage Arsenal in a game of football, but any time it happens their defensive frailties are all too obvious. Well played Swans."

otm

I certainly wouldn't have, but hey. (Le Bateau Ivre), Sunday, 15 January 2012 18:07 (fourteen years ago)

it's the same bloody excuse Ajax always comes up with. Well that and the fact that it rained

I certainly wouldn't have, but hey. (Le Bateau Ivre), Sunday, 15 January 2012 18:08 (fourteen years ago)

i don't hate any club as a matter of principle, just take it regime-by-regime or season-by-season, and it's genuinely only liverpool that have been constant the past five-six years

til the power failure (darraghmac), Sunday, 15 January 2012 18:08 (fourteen years ago)

Hate Newcastle and Chelsea usually, but have warmed to both this year. Utd are this year's, without their awfulness I'd like pretty much the whole division.

Ismael Klata, Sunday, 15 January 2012 18:12 (fourteen years ago)

I'm starting to hate Liverpool a bit though.

Ismael Klata, Sunday, 15 January 2012 18:12 (fourteen years ago)

Agreed. Can't stand United this year, can't stand Scholes, can't stand Fergie, can't stand Rooney... ugh

I certainly wouldn't have, but hey. (Le Bateau Ivre), Sunday, 15 January 2012 18:13 (fourteen years ago)

Liverpool's failing doesn't make me hate them more. Makes them more real tbh

I certainly wouldn't have, but hey. (Le Bateau Ivre), Sunday, 15 January 2012 18:13 (fourteen years ago)

I still enjoyed them when they were properly failing, but unless we're facing a big team this year is just ugh.

Ismael Klata, Sunday, 15 January 2012 18:17 (fourteen years ago)

h8 arsenal and stoke and utd and pool and wigan

Aesop Rizzle (a hoy hoy), Sunday, 15 January 2012 18:20 (fourteen years ago)

2nd half against Man City on Weds was my only ugh moment with LFC this season. Mostly inept at home but good away and I love the defence and the majority of the players tbh. Just exasperated cos I think Chelsea, Arsenal are genuinely rubbish and 4th place should have been there for the taking.

Used to love Bergkamp era Arsenal, hate this lot tho.

Spurs not hateable yet but give it a few more weeks and I'm sure I'll manage it.

pandemic, Sunday, 15 January 2012 18:24 (fourteen years ago)

Yeah I'm being unfair because at least some of the bad home form really is down to luck, but what I can't handle is that it rarely looks like it when we're chasing the win. We always look like a dour mid-table side punching above their weight, if anything.

Ismael Klata, Sunday, 15 January 2012 18:27 (fourteen years ago)

The BBC published that? That's PhD level stuff by their standards

MPx4A, Sunday, 15 January 2012 18:28 (fourteen years ago)

top reasons that i might begin to hate a team over time:-

consistent on-pitch thuggery (particularly unpunished)- stoke, f'rinstance
consistent favouritism from refs/FA- utd, f'rinstance, tho stoke also
consistent refusal to take responsibility for own job- rafa, f'rinstance, tho wenger also
consistent frustration with manager/players tactics/performance - spurs, arsenal, utd, lfc

is it just a case of Brendan Rogers is the next great manager?

I think he's developing a Scottish accent just in case. LOL his son is called Anton Rodgers!

Then in walked Barbara Castle with the Lady Eleanor (Tom D.), Monday, 16 January 2012 11:09 (fourteen years ago)

Swansea and Norwich do seem a bit unusual for promoted sides. Normally the ones that do well are either ugly-but-effective, or on a lucky run that's clearly going to end. I don't think you can say that about these two.
