are you all INSANE!?!?

congratulations (n/a), Thursday, 12 January 2012 15:54 (fourteen years ago)

If I shake this cold, I'm up for Numero Group dance party - I love giving those guys money (listening to the Syl Johnson box now - so dang good).

Might I recommend hydrocodone.

gonna give her the old fuquay-varina (Jenny), Thursday, 12 January 2012 15:58 (fourteen years ago)

La Lechera, Thursday, 12 January 2012 15:58 (fourteen years ago)

hydrocodone makes it hard for some people to sleep, e.g., me

WB, Jordan!

Je55e, Thursday, 12 January 2012 16:00 (fourteen years ago)

I have had that hyper reaction to codeine in the past, but something seems to have changed and now I'm a well on my way to being a pill junky.

When I was your age, young man, I was seeing Fake Fiction shows at midnight.

40 yoevoo (Eazy), Thursday, 12 January 2012 16:09 (fourteen years ago)

Lol talk guy on bus stood up and said loudly "Hey, get up jackass, we gotta be in court." a lot of heads turned bc it wasn't apparent that he was talking into his hands free phone mic.

Je55e, Thursday, 12 January 2012 16:14 (fourteen years ago)

dang it's snowing so hard but doesn't seem to be sticking at all. all this wasted effort by god.

congratulations (n/a), Thursday, 12 January 2012 17:00 (fourteen years ago)

i think the problem is all the snow seems to be going sideways, instead of towards the ground.

congratulations (n/a), Thursday, 12 January 2012 17:03 (fourteen years ago)

rookie mistake

the third kind of dubstep (Jordan), Thursday, 12 January 2012 17:04 (fourteen years ago)

Hey so Kr and I got Settlers of Catan for x-mas. Anyone wanna play it with us sometime?

Bon Ivoj (jaymc), Thursday, 12 January 2012 17:39 (fourteen years ago)

YES OMG YES

I love that game.

gonna give her the old fuquay-varina (Jenny), Thursday, 12 January 2012 17:45 (fourteen years ago)

OK so i have a TEN MINUTE lunch break
if anyone wants to go to the thing on saturday, email me -- I know it's late, I know you're weary, I know your plans don't include me...still, dance party!! think about it.

La Lechera, Thursday, 12 January 2012 17:58 (fourteen years ago)

Settlers of catan looks awesome, though tbf I'm not exactly sure what it is.

In related news, due to wedding registry hilarity, we now have two brand new "classic" Clue board games, if anybody wants one.

the emancipation of distraction (askance johnson), Thursday, 12 January 2012 18:05 (fourteen years ago)

I'll play if it is the iPhone version.

Jeff, Thursday, 12 January 2012 18:12 (fourteen years ago)

I got electronic catchphrase for Xmas that I want to break out for a game night.

courtnoodle, Thursday, 12 January 2012 18:23 (fourteen years ago)

i wish someone here would play catan with us

the third kind of dubstep (Jordan), Thursday, 12 January 2012 18:25 (fourteen years ago)

jeff and jenny have we played settlers of cataan? i get it mixed up with that other board game we play sometimes.

congratulations (n/a), Thursday, 12 January 2012 18:25 (fourteen years ago)

Who wants to play the battle star galactica game again??

Jeff, Thursday, 12 January 2012 18:26 (fourteen years ago)

We have, I think you may have won.

Jeff, Thursday, 12 January 2012 18:26 (fourteen years ago)

n/a we played Settlers once and IIRC you liked it.

I was thinking about the BSG game the other day and coming to terms with the likelihood that I'll never play it again.

gonna give her the old fuquay-varina (Jenny), Thursday, 12 January 2012 18:28 (fourteen years ago)

:(

Jeff, Thursday, 12 January 2012 18:30 (fourteen years ago)

We should really just sell it then.

Jeff, Thursday, 12 January 2012 18:32 (fourteen years ago)

I got electronic catchphrase for Xmas that I want to break out for a game night.

I thought you have always had Catchphrase?

Bon Ivoj (jaymc), Thursday, 12 January 2012 18:34 (fourteen years ago)

It's *electronic*.

I would like to give Settlers of Cataan a go. I'm worried I'm not smart enough for it, tbh.

Je55e, Thursday, 12 January 2012 18:36 (fourteen years ago)

I was not aware there was an analog Catchphrase.

Bon Ivoj (jaymc), Thursday, 12 January 2012 18:38 (fourteen years ago)

xp Aw, I made you frown. I just feel like its complexity makes playing it a chore for ppl who aren't super enthusiastic about that kind of game. Since its hard to find players, we don't play it much and we have to relearn it every time, which makes it more complex…

I feel like we need to go play at the f'n Dice Dojo or something to really take full advantage.

gonna give her the old fuquay-varina (Jenny), Thursday, 12 January 2012 18:39 (fourteen years ago)

Jesse, Settlers is really easy to learn. It probably takes a few games to really develop a strategy but that's part of the fun IMO.

gonna give her the old fuquay-varina (Jenny), Thursday, 12 January 2012 18:43 (fourteen years ago)

I had to drive to and back from a meeting out in Aurora this moring, they are actually doing an admirable job of keeping up on the roads and sidewalks. Its nasty way out west.

jon /via/ chi 2.0, Thursday, 12 January 2012 18:48 (fourteen years ago)

Dice Dojo is awesome!

La Lechera, Thursday, 12 January 2012 19:03 (fourteen years ago)

I feel like the captain of the football team when I walk I'm there.

Jeff, Thursday, 12 January 2012 19:08 (fourteen years ago)

No, I just got electronic catchphrase. I think there might have been a card game version?

courtnoodle, Thursday, 12 January 2012 19:09 (fourteen years ago)

So who brought electronic Catchphrase to our apartment in like 2008?

Bon Ivoj (jaymc), Thursday, 12 January 2012 19:14 (fourteen years ago)

i think i liked the BSG game more once i became a cylon and was basically a spoiler for everyone else

congratulations (n/a), Thursday, 12 January 2012 19:56 (fourteen years ago)

Jesse, Settlers is really easy to learn. It probably takes a few games to really develop a strategy but that's part of the fun IMO.

i feel the need to insert the "a few minutes to learn...a lifetime to master!" thing here

your pain is probably equal (Z S), Thursday, 12 January 2012 20:01 (fourteen years ago)

carcassonne 4 lyfe
(i have only played catan once and it was confusing...because i only played it once)

La Lechera, Thursday, 12 January 2012 20:03 (fourteen years ago)

carcasson is the game i get confused with settlers of cataan

congratulations (n/a), Thursday, 12 January 2012 20:03 (fourteen years ago)

Carcassone is infinitely better.

I think the bsg game would be more fun with 4 or 5 ppl. It would also take 4 hours to play.

Jeff, Thursday, 12 January 2012 20:11 (fourteen years ago)

call of Cthulhu owns all these games

long duk dan (dan m), Thursday, 12 January 2012 20:28 (fourteen years ago)

Actually I own all these games.

gonna give her the old fuquay-varina (Jenny), Thursday, 12 January 2012 20:43 (fourteen years ago)

Except Call of Cthulhu.

What kind of game is it?

gonna give her the old fuquay-varina (Jenny), Thursday, 12 January 2012 20:44 (fourteen years ago)

hyper-nerdy board game where you collaborate with co-players to try to figure out deep dark mysteries and avoid going insane or dying in various ways

also it's very hard to actually "win"

long duk dan (dan m), Thursday, 12 January 2012 21:18 (fourteen years ago)

and, as the name suggests, it is set within the Lovecraftian world

long duk dan (dan m), Thursday, 12 January 2012 21:18 (fourteen years ago)

That sounds really good.

gonna give her the old fuquay-varina (Jenny), Thursday, 12 January 2012 21:23 (fourteen years ago)

it's fun but it can be really goddamn frustrating to play for 2-3 hours and then BOOM Cthulhu rises and everyone loses their mind with fear and it's over

long duk dan (dan m), Thursday, 12 January 2012 21:29 (fourteen years ago)

sounds like my prom night

congratulations (n/a), Thursday, 12 January 2012 21:31 (fourteen years ago)
