not in for pub quiz this week as I have made the thoroughly adult decision that I must be in bed by 9:30 tonight. I will then use pharmaceuticals to get myself to sleep.

well let's just go some other time then. i think the ice hockey category would kill us this week, unless dan could come.

Nick, the album as a whole is a little wearying, but I like a handful of tracks from it. Even though I'm no great fan of hardcore-style vocals, I have a lot of time for darting, interlocking guitar lines.

last night on the train home, a seat opened up directly in front of where i was sitting, and this woman who was standing maybe about 20 feet away saw that it was open and she started making her way over to the seat, saying multiple times in a mousy/anxious voice "...i-i-i wouldn't mind sitting down .... i wouldn't mind sitting down..." and it made me think of one of the kind of crazy/neurotic characters kristin wiig would play on SNL so then i was imagining her as this funny sketch character and i was cracking myself up so i had a big grin on my face, and the woman (who was now seated) turned and saw me grinning so she smiled at me.

that reminds me of an important post i need to make to the IA thread.

I miss ddpp, too! Also, Matt and I got engaged over the holidays, and it's now slowly dawning on us that we have to plan a wedding.

Congrats! Just don't view it as a chore! We had lots of fun planning for our wedding! Sure complications are inevitable, but acknowledging that going in and erasing all expectations of any sort of "perfect" wedding make it much more enjoyable. Think of the fun things - tasting free, delicious food! Picking out decorations! Music! Lots of exclamation points!
