the squares are defenders (one goalie, one alongside the onside guy), the pointy up arrows are attackers.

I was otherwise very normal before I became (onimo), Friday, 6 January 2012 15:33 (fourteen years ago)

I've forgotten all I ever knew about Miyaichi. Also, what happened to Park?

Ismael Klata, Friday, 6 January 2012 15:34 (fourteen years ago)

carpy deems (darraghmac), Friday, 6 January 2012 16:26 (fourteen years ago)

back when you could kick a ball in the street, the fa cup used to mean something & you kill a black man without being arrested 8 years later - but now its just FA CUP 11/12

I am Newgod (a hoy hoy), Friday, 6 January 2012 16:29 (fourteen years ago)

not loving this strain of suggestion tbh

Ismael Klata, Friday, 6 January 2012 16:30 (fourteen years ago)

CraigG, Friday, 6 January 2012 16:36 (fourteen years ago)

Traditional FA Cup thread title would involve a shout out to Tamworth or Fleetwood Town or someone.

Matt DC, Friday, 6 January 2012 16:37 (fourteen years ago)

carpy deems (darraghmac), Friday, 6 January 2012 16:38 (fourteen years ago)

carpy deems (darraghmac), Friday, 6 January 2012 16:41 (fourteen years ago)

I goddamn missed the meaning of 'lilt' and feel so out of the loop now ;_;

I certainly wouldn't have, but hey. (Le Bateau Ivre), Friday, 6 January 2012 16:46 (fourteen years ago)

I totally misread that and for a second thought Fleetwood Mac were in the FA Cup third round

EZ Snappin, Friday, 6 January 2012 16:48 (fourteen years ago)

lilt is not a meaning it is a totally tropical taste

carpy deems (darraghmac), Friday, 6 January 2012 16:57 (fourteen years ago)

I am Newgod (a hoy hoy), Friday, 6 January 2012 17:05 (fourteen years ago)

Lilt is the business cos it's sparkling rather than fizzy but real heads will fondly sigh over a can of Ting

The last time I can remember watching LFC on a Friday night we lost the League to Arsenal.

pandemic, Friday, 6 January 2012 17:46 (fourteen years ago)

You didn't catch last week's game then?

Ismael Klata, Friday, 6 January 2012 18:04 (fourteen years ago)

Who did we play last Friday? Newcastle? I didn't see it no, but I must admit I forgot that was a Friday.

pandemic, Friday, 6 January 2012 18:18 (fourteen years ago)

I tried to buy a can of lilt from a shop, possibly a baker's, in 1991, while cycling from Lincoln to Edale in the Peak District.

Back Shift Backline (Nasty, Brutish & Short), Friday, 6 January 2012 18:21 (fourteen years ago)

They made a thing in the commentary last week of it being the first Friday night game at Anfield since the Michael Thomas one.

Ismael Klata, Friday, 6 January 2012 18:27 (fourteen years ago)

Wait, you *tried* to buy? What mishap ensued?

Ismael Klata, Friday, 6 January 2012 18:28 (fourteen years ago)

They couldn't understand what I was saying.

Back Shift Backline (Nasty, Brutish & Short), Friday, 6 January 2012 18:29 (fourteen years ago)

Known in my house as the 'Barnes needlessly goes for goal when he should just waste time in the corner' one.
xxp

pandemic, Friday, 6 January 2012 18:30 (fourteen years ago)

It was in a little place called Clowne. I asked for a can of lilt. They looked baffled and kept saying 'akanalil?' to me. They had plenty of it in the fridge behind them. I appreciate it's probably extremely rare for someone from down south to venture into their bakery, but I don't think I have an impenetrable accent. Surely they watch TV?

Back Shift Backline (Nasty, Brutish & Short), Friday, 6 January 2012 18:33 (fourteen years ago)

Were they dazzled by your pearly suit?

Ismael Klata, Friday, 6 January 2012 18:36 (fourteen years ago)

I did have mouthful of jellied eels, tbf.

Back Shift Backline (Nasty, Brutish & Short), Friday, 6 January 2012 18:37 (fourteen years ago)

I had to google lilt to have any idea what you f***ers were talking about.

and sold in the Seychelles, United Kingdom, Gibraltar and Republic of Ireland only.

Bah!

Do you know what the secret of comity is? (Michael White), Friday, 6 January 2012 18:41 (fourteen years ago)

now you have an excuse to go to the Seychelles

Number None, Friday, 6 January 2012 18:42 (fourteen years ago)

^^ story of my day, too. And cosign on the Bah!

xp

I certainly wouldn't have, but hey. (Le Bateau Ivre), Friday, 6 January 2012 18:43 (fourteen years ago)

Common Market letting you guys down badly here

Ismael Klata, Friday, 6 January 2012 18:45 (fourteen years ago)
