The New Girl actress — who attended high school with Jake Gyllenhaal and Kate Hudson — says not much changed during her freshman year at Northwestern University. “I went to Northwestern because I had gone to a really nontraditional high school. I was like, ‘It’d be cool to have a traditional college experience,’” Deschanel, 32, explains. “Then I was like, ‘Oh, but none of these people understand what’s cool about me. I'd never been enamored of this person and found the idea of her mildly annoying, but this show is really incredibly funny - especially the Schmidt character, but everyone else as well.

sadly the A+ accuracy here just made me want to marry lizzy caplan and somehow get zooey d fired from this job.

i'm team caplan all the way and the episode in no way changed that but seriously i felt like the whole thing was a pretty canny way of addressing how some people feel about zooey and/or her character that made me kind of respect her and the show more

I've never seen this show but I have always really liked LC.

So I'm the only one on Team Zooey? (Tbh, the first few episodes of this show almost completely ended my crush on her but she seems to be moving back towards 'cute' as opposed to 'obnoxiously absurd'.)

since i don't like zooey d and have no idea who lizzy caplan is but am aware that z is a thing for many people (=guys), i'm also curious abt this

it's my understanding that Caplan is friends w/ the creator of the show and is just doing an arc for a few episodes, at least for now, although i don't imagine she'll ever join the cast long term

since i don't like zooey d and have no idea who lizzy caplan is but am aware that z is a thing for many people (=guys), i'm also curious abt this

caplan is sardonic and mean and asks u questions about being aware of garfield, zooey is cute and nice and puts smiling lambs on things

lol, that's exactly what i figured based on their pictures and zooey's past/fanbase. team lizzy.

I watched about six minutes of that interview with Diablo Cody (a few posts above). That was plenty enough to kill any illusions I may have had about her extemporaneous speaking ability. Also, there is some kind of a weird thing going on with the right side of her upper lip that was v distracting.
