"it will definitely be back later this spring."

Getting into this in a big way. But back later this spring just means the rest of this season, no? Have new episodes been ordered?

Josh in Chicago, Friday, 6 January 2012 21:26 (fourteen years ago)

no word about a 4th season yet

Mordy, Friday, 6 January 2012 21:28 (fourteen years ago)

According to "Troy and Abed" on Facebook, 12 episodes are set to air.

Let A Man Come In And Do The Cop Porn (Tarfumes The Escape Goat), Friday, 6 January 2012 21:41 (fourteen years ago)

yeah they were ALWAYS shooting and planning to era the full order of Season 3, and it was always going to be probably returning in the spring, but people freaked out like it was going to get pushed to the summer or aired on Bravo or something because i guess they think Are You There, Chelsea? is going to be a ratings phenomenon. too early to say about it being back in the fall because it's too early to say that about most shows, including 30 Rock.

we bought a zoo in a hopeless place (some dude), Friday, 6 January 2012 21:45 (fourteen years ago)

having seen all of season 1 now, I would have been on this show's bandwagon so much earlier had I seen "Social Psychology", "Interpretive Dance", "Physical Education" and "The Science of Illusion" when they aired

i guess we're a few months away from whiney sheepishy posting about which episodes he really likes

Mordy, Friday, 6 January 2012 21:54 (fourteen years ago)

holy hell, from the Wikipedia entry on this season's Halloween ep:

At the start of the episode, Annie goes through Britta's playlist and finds the Beetlejuice soundtrack in it. A man in a Beetlejuice costume then passes behind Annie as she says the name aloud for the third time in the show's history ("Beetlejuice" was also mentioned in "Communication Studies" and "Cooperative Calligraphy").[4] In the film, when someone says "Beetlejuice" three times, the character Betelgeuse would suddenly enter the scene.[5]

that is an insane level of detail

Bam! Orgasm explosion in your facehole. (DJP), Friday, 6 January 2012 22:07 (fourteen years ago)

well some site recently figured that out and put together a video of the 3 Beetlejuice scenes (it was either posted upthread or on the sandbox thread). but yeah wiki nerds, go fig.

we bought a zoo in a hopeless place (some dude), Friday, 6 January 2012 22:14 (fourteen years ago)

and of course reading really dry joyless wiki explanations of gags instead of watching is a big source of fuel for whiney's vitriol

a tv dude on twitter was saying that nbc's "the firm" bombed so badly on its first airing that it's probably kaput, which means the thursday @ 10 hour will be open. bring back the thursday three-hour comedy bloc, nbc!!

NBC is so dumb right now in general, I don't know why they thought The Firm would work as a series in 2012.

Nicole, Wednesday, 11 January 2012 12:12 (fourteen years ago)

I literally cannot wait for the blanket fort civil war episode.

Matt DC, Wednesday, 11 January 2012 13:00 (fourteen years ago)

i half-watched The Firm and mostly just felt bad for Molly Parker

seasonal thug (some dude), Wednesday, 11 January 2012 14:19 (fourteen years ago)

kinda hate that there's all this advance discussion & anticipation of the premises/concepts of upcoming episodes -- one of my favorite things about the first paintball episode or the My Dinner With Andre episode is that i had NO idea about them ahead of time, was a lot more exciting that way imo

seasonal thug (some dude), Wednesday, 11 January 2012 14:24 (fourteen years ago)

too much hype kind of dampened the fun of paintball 2 for me.

phantompenguin, Wednesday, 11 January 2012 17:19 (fourteen years ago)

well that was a 'sequel' so it's not like there even could've been much element of surprise (although i'm glad i didn't know in advance about the star wars theme of the 2nd half, since they did it better than i would've expected)

some dude, Wednesday, 11 January 2012 17:21 (fourteen years ago)

Me too. I had no idea about the Goodfellas homage until the freeze-frame and "As long as I can remember, I always wanted to be in a mafia movie." My first thought was, crap, a Family Guy-esque throwaway joke/non-sequitur. But they went full-Layla on that shit, and if I'd known about it ahead of time, it wouldn't have been half as fun.

mookieproof, Thursday, 12 January 2012 01:25 (fourteen years ago)

yeah the Layla bit in particular killed me!

Nhex, Thursday, 12 January 2012 01:50 (fourteen years ago)

According to the DVD commentary, a substantial portion of that season's funding was spent on the rights to "Layla." Worth it.

Let A Man Come In And Do The Cop Porn (Tarfumes The Escape Goat), Thursday, 12 January 2012 03:10 (fourteen years ago)

ratings horserace stuff: whitney/chelsea got decent-for-nbc ratings on wednesday, which, vomit. however, 30 rock, in community's old time slot, basically got community ratings (maybe a fraction higher), so there's some vindication that the nbc 8:00 time slot is poison.

the firm got even more hilariously low ratings after they moved it to thursday @ 10, so that might be yanked pretty quick here.

fighting growlbacks bottomless spirit pit (reddening), Saturday, 14 January 2012 02:17 (fourteen years ago)

iirc, Community is still on its regular shooting schedule, so it's not inconceivable that a quick, Firm yank could result in, "You asked for it, America! Community's back sooner than expected!"

Surprised how small Annie's boobs* are considering it is internet comic book art involving large boobs the internet are obsessed over.

Isn't she supposed to be young Kitty Pryde (w/Annie's Boobs as Lockheed)? She didn't busty til later on in Excalibur.

(This has to be the nerdiest post I've ever made here.)

I kind of wish I had an action figure of this!

Also, still disappointed that we didn't get to see Jim Rash at the Golden Globes when the Descendants won.

Nicole, Monday, 16 January 2012 20:43 (fourteen years ago)

i would buy all of those as action figures tbh
