Ally C (Ally C), Monday, 23 May 2005 11:23 (twenty-one years ago)

jandek supports rangers.

cozen (Cozen), Monday, 23 May 2005 11:55 (twenty-one years ago)

Jandek "Follow, follow" Tour '05.

We're up to our knees in droning guitar.

Ally C (Ally C), Monday, 23 May 2005 11:59 (twenty-one years ago)

none of this sectarian nonsense, please.

I bet jandek is more of a ping pong kind of a guy.

RJG (RJG), Monday, 23 May 2005 12:01 (twenty-one years ago)

scandalous.

cozen (Cozen), Monday, 23 May 2005 12:04 (twenty-one years ago)

re. tonights show, an email from my mate (who went to see him in gateshead at the weekend) states:

Apparently Jandek is going to do a new piece called (I think) "The Cell" and has warned the easily-offended to attend at their own risk.

jed_ (jed), Monday, 23 May 2005 12:05 (twenty-one years ago)

in that case, ally should definitely go.

I will be in school, tonight, I should think.

RJG (RJG), Monday, 23 May 2005 12:07 (twenty-one years ago)

jandek should do "the cell" in marks & spencer.

cozen (Cozen), Monday, 23 May 2005 12:11 (twenty-one years ago)

"the cellophane"

Ally C (Ally C), Monday, 23 May 2005 12:15 (twenty-one years ago)

RJG (RJG), Monday, 23 May 2005 12:17 (twenty-one years ago)

Now I know how Robert Browning must have felt.

Ally C (Ally C), Monday, 23 May 2005 12:26 (twenty-one years ago)

she's the tear-me-up and throw-me-down; a delicate, see-through summer gown

RJG (RJG), Monday, 23 May 2005 12:32 (twenty-one years ago)

M&S is doing pasta, pesto and cherry tomato salad lunchboxes for just 80p at the moment. Team that with one of their £1.20 (and tasty) cheese & celery sandwiches and you've got the kind of value meal that one would never associate with Marks & Spencer quality.

Alba (Alba), Monday, 23 May 2005 13:24 (twenty-one years ago)

are you their publicist?

jed_ (jed), Monday, 23 May 2005 13:27 (twenty-one years ago)

I thought cozen was working for M&S

crosspost

RJG (RJG), Monday, 23 May 2005 13:29 (twenty-one years ago)

I am not employed by M&S. I just think they offer some great value these days and are worth a visit by the price-sensitive, who might think the shop is not for them.

It's terrific that Cozen is lending them his services. I hope it is the start of a long and productive relationship.

Alba (Alba), Monday, 23 May 2005 13:37 (twenty-one years ago)

You're a fruitcake.

Ally C (Ally C), Monday, 23 May 2005 14:02 (twenty-one years ago)

Fuck you.

Alba (Alba), Monday, 23 May 2005 14:49 (twenty-one years ago)

jandek was incredibly great, one of the top 5 live musical experiences of my life.

jed_ (jed), Tuesday, 24 May 2005 00:27 (twenty-one years ago)

Does anyone know when the WolfEyes / Marceline (sp?)'s band gig at Mono is?

Tannenbaum Schmidt (Nik), Tuesday, 24 May 2005 04:44 (twenty-one years ago)

Alba (Alba), Tuesday, 24 May 2005 07:19 (twenty-one years ago)

Everyone is focussing on the slump in M&S profits announced this morning, but let's not forget that they still exceeded city expectations.

Alba (Alba), Tuesday, 24 May 2005 07:22 (twenty-one years ago)

And they have "laid the foundations for recovery". Be patient.

Ally C (Ally C), Tuesday, 24 May 2005 07:44 (twenty-one years ago)

I didn't hear them mention Cozen, but I was half-asleep.

Alba (Alba), Tuesday, 24 May 2005 11:08 (twenty-one years ago)

No, it was Cozen who released the statement.

Ally C (Ally C), Tuesday, 24 May 2005 12:19 (twenty-one years ago)

He's so great.

Declan from Üter lives on a diet of cheese & onion crisps. My colleague told me, but you can see it in his sunken eyes.

Alba (Alba), Tuesday, 24 May 2005 12:24 (twenty-one years ago)

Marceline lives on a diet of crushed Pokemon.

Ally C (Ally C), Tuesday, 24 May 2005 12:45 (twenty-one years ago)

Does she home-crush?

Alba (Alba), Tuesday, 24 May 2005 12:49 (twenty-one years ago)

She has a machine, yes.

Ally C (Ally C), Tuesday, 24 May 2005 12:59 (twenty-one years ago)

Stace, did you edit out my greengrocer's apostrophe?

Madchen (Madchen), Friday, 27 May 2005 08:39 (twenty-one years ago)

I've been trumped - my temp is having an article published in Le Monde.

Madchen (Madchen), Friday, 27 May 2005 15:52 (twenty-one years ago)

RJG/Cathy - are you watching BB tonight?

Alba (Alba), Friday, 27 May 2005 15:58 (twenty-one years ago)

i was in paris being cultured and sweaty (unrelated). was there a greengrocer error? uh oh... the place falls apart without me, i swear... and bb! what have i missed?

dahlin (dahlin), Sunday, 29 May 2005 13:05 (twenty-one years ago)

I wish I were, alba, but I am in the cauldron.

cathy probably wishes she were, too, but she may have gone to wales and I don't think they have TVs, there.

RJG (RJG), Sunday, 29 May 2005 14:13 (twenty-one years ago)

Harvey did

jed_ (jed), Tuesday, 31 May 2005 20:53 (twenty-one years ago)

It doesn't properly capture the amount of mud there was around at the time.

KeefW (kmw), Tuesday, 31 May 2005 20:58 (twenty-one years ago)

I was just going to say. But aw! anyway.

Alba (Alba), Tuesday, 31 May 2005 20:58 (twenty-one years ago)

Although, I don't know when these photos were taken, they could be post-mud, pre-cleanup!

KeefW (kmw), Tuesday, 31 May 2005 21:03 (twenty-one years ago)

That golden age.

Alba (Alba), Tuesday, 31 May 2005 21:09 (twenty-one years ago)

Indeed... That would around about the "Glasgow's miles better" plastered comically on the gas works age.

KeefW (kmw), Tuesday, 31 May 2005 21:10 (twenty-one years ago)

the age of golden and green buses.

or 1982

jed_ (jed), Tuesday, 31 May 2005 21:11 (twenty-one years ago)

Hehe, yeah it would be 1982 that. I remember first seeing the Glasgow's Miles Better thing just coming over the motorway and being annoyed with my mother for turning the radio off as "Come on Eileen" was on. I tried to reason with her - you can't turn it off, it's number 1!

Beats me how she didn't fall for my logic to this day.

Now I'm older and I can play "Come on Eileen" any time I like.

KeefW (kmw), Tuesday, 31 May 2005 21:20 (twenty-one years ago)

Although in an amusing memory fuck up, this web page claims the "Glasgow's Miles Better" campaign started in 1983. The wonders of the human brain. Must be two separate incidents.
