I FAILED JOHN KEATS

Schneider is so great in Bright Star. More period romances need hecklers.
― Simon H., Tuesday, 15 November 2011 23:26 (fourteen years ago)
Schneider is great in everything, which is why his non-presence on this show was so surprising.
I feel like this show has gotten less funny but somehow I don't care when Chris Pratt is a burgeoning Women's Studies scholar (total pandering to me, and I lap it up) and Amy Poehler and Adam Scott get all emo
― all the other twinks with their fucked up dicks (billy), Friday, 18 November 2011 06:17 (fourteen years ago)
The closing seconds of this one, w/ Pratt in class, were the highlight IMO.
― Simon H., Friday, 18 November 2011 06:20 (fourteen years ago)
This series is not doing it for me at all. I dunno, maybe I'm over it.

I'm with you, something's missing this year.

I liked Ron's first day of college line

this one seemed a little like they were coasting... leaning on pretty straight riffs of each character's quirks.
― the girl from spirea x (f. hazel), Friday, 18 November 2011 19:22 (fourteen years ago)
it wasn't the best episode but i'm glad they went ahead and revived the ben/leslie relationship instead of leaving them hanging all season, should make things more interesting going forward. also i liked the racist lady in the town hall meeting, and ron telling the guitar teacher she should be a brunette.
― congratulations (n/a), Friday, 18 November 2011 21:27 (fourteen years ago)
For what it’s worth, you’d make an incredible brunette.
― Waxahachie Swap (Jimmy The Mod Awaits The Return Of His Beloved), Friday, 18 November 2011 21:27 (fourteen years ago)
the best parts about the racist lady were the expressions on the faces of the black couple sitting a few chairs over from her
― Much Ado About Nuttin (DJP), Friday, 18 November 2011 21:29 (fourteen years ago)
wasn't crazy about the tom/jerry plot (tom is my least fave character at this point and i'm an aziz ansari defender) but i liked tom's disgust at turning into jerry, going home to a loving wife and three beautiful daughters, eating a home-cooked meal.
― congratulations (n/a), Friday, 18 November 2011 21:31 (fourteen years ago)
Wld like to know about Jerry's other two daughters tbrr
― Waxahachie Swap (Jimmy The Mod Awaits The Return Of His Beloved), Friday, 18 November 2011 21:31 (fourteen years ago)

I am a sappy dork and I enjoyed this episode quite a bit.
― Janet Snakehole (VegemiteGrrl), Saturday, 19 November 2011 06:54 (fourteen years ago)
Yeah, I think n/a OTM. It certainly wasn't as funny as the last couple of episodes, but there was a nice emotional pay-off.

This week's was better but, yeah, the secret sauce is missing. It was a good episode with good gags, but the pace is slower? Not as sharp? Can't quite put my finger on it.

i think the shoe has crossed my cutesy threshold. i'm starting to get scrubs vibes, maybe idk.

Lovin Ben's Letters to Cleo tshirt.

I just came here to post that!
― Nicole, Friday, 13 January 2012 01:48 (fourteen years ago)
pretty great ep - good callback to ben's inexplicable preference of calzones over pizza, and loved the slow uncomfortable attempt to get lesley on the stage at the ice rink with the music stopping and starting
― congratulations (n/a), Friday, 13 January 2012 16:06 (fourteen years ago)
Yeah, I lost my shit every single time the song started over during the scene. Also, I used to own that exact same Letters to Cleo shirt.

we kept singing "GET ON YOUR FEET!" at each other at random intervals after that

The best was the little "wait for it" pause he did before the last word.
― Bon Ivoj (jaymc), Friday, 13 January 2012 16:12 (fourteen years ago)
Loved the moment they get to the stage & Leslie is flailing around on her stomach trying to stand

was watching this at the gym and i had to restrain from laughing uncontrollably at the slow walk to the stage. it started when they reached the end of the red carpet.
― rayuela, Friday, 13 January 2012 17:31 (fourteen years ago)
ron! how am i supposed to get onto that tiny stage??
(or whatever the actual lines are...leslie's indignation at each stage of the walk was hilarious)
― rayuela, Friday, 13 January 2012 17:33 (fourteen years ago)
And even though you saw the failed dunk coming from a mile away, its execution was still perfect.
― jon /via/ chi 2.0, Friday, 13 January 2012 17:37 (fourteen years ago)
the one thing that seemed false about this episode is that none of the things that went wrong were actually Ann's fault, so I don't really see why it all boiled down to her being a terrible campaign manager (unless the unspoken thing is that she didn't ask questions Ben would have, like "Ron, do you have a license to drive the truck?"; the ice rink thing would have been unrecoverable for anyone afaict)

― horseshoe, Friday, 13 January 2012 18:24 (fourteen years ago)
true story: i had a calzone on sunday and made a stupid "lo-cal calzone" joke to my wife, so if you're wondering what asshole ben is a parody of, it's me
― lame adele rey (some dude), Friday, 13 January 2012 18:31 (fourteen years ago)
hahahahaha

Ben's depressed hair = oh hai
― Janet Snakehole (VegemiteGrrl), Friday, 13 January 2012 19:12 (fourteen years ago)
sadly, I can also relate to depressed ben
I thought the ice rink scene was brilliant & hilarious. it was the music coming in at random intervals pushed it from ridiculous to sublime.
