Yup, and he tapes his stuff at home in Arizona (IIRC), which they dub in during post.

god bless. Don Pardo had a similar arrangement, I believe -- also in Arizona.

What do you think the odds are that the guy who is the greatest player in the history of Jeopardy also happens to possess the very specific (and hard-to-find) skills needed to host the show? That's insane!Has anyone ever written/talked about this?― alpine static
That's insane!
Has anyone ever written/talked about this?

probably... i'm not that engaged with jeopardy fandom. it occurs to me, tho, that there might be some overlap between the very specific and hard-to-find skills needed to host the show and the very specific and hard-to-find skills needed to be a top-tier jeopardy! player...
― Kate (rushomancy), Thursday, 31 July 2025 13:22 (ten months ago)
I never realized or came across the fact that Rod Serling co-wrote the adapted screen-play for "The Planet of the Apes".
Final Jeopardy answer today...

I really like this cutie whose on a roll right now…
― cryptosicko, Thursday, 27 November 2025 03:47 (six months ago)
He's rolled through quite a few games, but he had a couple tough one's early on. I think it was the 3rd game in the streak both him and the person that finished second doubled up hitting on final jeopardy. That was the high dollar total for a single game and I think it was by far the biggest 'loser', which often means they are in the 2nd chance series.

Harrison (the new streaker) rules.

what overlapping skills would those be? just, like ... being sharp and good at everything he tries?
― alpine static, Thursday, 27 November 2025 09:05 (six months ago)
This new thing of including celebs in championship games without softball questions clearly isn't working too well.
― cryptosicko, Wednesday, 28 January 2026 14:05 (four months ago)
in anyone watching current mega-champ jamie ding? he's been destroying all challengers for the past month with weirdly conservative/cautious daily double wagers, several missed final jeopardys and an almost endearing lack of charisma. he's the only jeopardy player i've ever heard introduced as a "bureaucrat" and he has a personality to match. and he's an absolutely merciless killer.
― fact checking cuz, Friday, 17 April 2026 18:58 (two months ago)
(also in the one game in his streak where he was in second place going into final jeop and then whiffed on the clue, he won by displaying an understanding of final jeop betting strategy that continues to elude countless jeopardy players, including lots of champions. that's the game where i fell in love.)
― fact checking cuz, Friday, 17 April 2026 19:02 (two months ago)
hes cute he does the hand motion thing @ times when answering that the canadian girl champ did, blanking on her name
i also lold on the 1 final jeop that he wagered where he couldve hit 100k in one game and he got it wrong, i think it was an easy clue
― johnny crunch, Friday, 17 April 2026 20:18 (two months ago)
he loves those hand motions!

wildly impressive for someone to beat him in that fashion
― johnny crunch, Tuesday, 28 April 2026 19:54 (one month ago)
i got too deep into jeopardy subculture but apparently that guy (and the guy who played a really close game last week) are both members of an online trivia game called learnedleague (invite only)
― 龜, Tuesday, 28 April 2026 20:05 (one month ago)
the other crazy thing about the guy who beat him, greg shahade, is that jamie used a clue-hunting strategy he called "knight moves" -- after the chess piece -- and greg is a professional chess player. you couldn't script that any better.
