(thought it was kind of an average episode myself, though april and tom had some good laughs)

also rob lowe is pretty amazing on this show. i just want to point that out. he's really really funny for someone who wasn't really considered a comedic actor before being cast on this show.

Brandanowitz is in David Gordon Green's first couple, no? "George Washington" and "All the Real Girls?"

i like bright star but dude is kind of miscast

Adam Scott was on the WTF podcast yesterday. Seems to be the same in real life as he is on the show (or Party Down, for that matter).

he started out as a different character on NTSF:SD:SUV but had turned back into himself by the end of the episode

Agreed. I love this movie to an almost irrational degree.

i was so appalled that, the year it came out, it got only one oscar nom, and it was for costumes - same year blind side got best picture nom

I think the costumes (though great) may have distracted voters from the substance of the story. Otoh I am rarely surprised at the poor decision making of Oscar voters.

Schneider is so great in Bright Star. More period romances need hecklers.

Schneider is great in everything, which is why his non-presence on this show was so surprising.

I feel like this show has gotten less funny but somehow I don't care when Chris Pratt is a burgeoning Women's Studies scholar (total pandering to me, and I lap it up) and Amy Poehler and Adam Scott get all emo

The closing seconds of this one, w/ Pratt in class, were the highlight IMO.

On the other hand, WOMEN'S LASERS!!

this one seemed a little like they were coasting... leaning on pretty straight riffs of each character's quirks.

it wasn't the best episode but i'm glad they went ahead and revived the ben/leslie relationship instead of leaving them hanging all season, should make things more interesting going forward. also i liked the racist lady in the town hall meeting, and ron telling the guitar teacher she should be a brunette.

For what it’s worth, you’d make an incredible brunette.

the best parts about the racist lady were the expressions on the faces of the black couple sitting a few chairs over from her

wasn't crazy about the tom/jerry plot (tom is my least fave character at this point and i'm an aziz ansari defender) but i liked tom's disgust at turning into jerry, going home to a loving wife and three beautiful daughters, eating a home-cooked meal.

Wld like to know about Jerry's other two daughters tbrr

I am a sappy dork and I enjoyed this episode quite a bit.

Yeah, I think n/a OTM. It certainly wasn't as funny as the last couple of episodes, but there was a nice emotional pay-off.

This week's was better but, yeah, the secret sauce is missing. It was a good episode with good gags, but the pace is slower? Not as sharp? Can't quite put my finger on it.

i think the shoe has crossed my cutesy threshold. i'm starting to get scrubs vibes, maybe idk.
