You tell me. I get that you, for whatever reason, think I'm a worthless poster, but I'm not sure why you felt the need to call me out for being "at 11" for expressing an opinion.

I'm just wondering if its my word choice or your reading comprehension that is causing you to read a tone that isn't intended.

I'm wondering the same thing! I had a mild chuckle at you describing a lukewarm disagreement as being "butthurt" and then you ACTUALLY go from 0 to 11 in the most ironic way possible... It's kind of amazing.

And I'm mostly sitting here bemused and slightly concerned.

Apparently I need flashign Drudge sirens for you if I ever use even a hint of sarcasm in my posts. Its so funny that for a board so dependent on snark, irony, and sarcasm, that you have such a hard time comprehending it. Of course I didn't think anyone was seriously butthurt over this. I just was laughing that there were such quick defenders of the gag. It was like I said Inspector Spacetime was ruining the show or something.

I mean, if you honestly think I was sitting here like seething in rage or w/e, maybe you are the one that needs to take a break from the internet because you're seeing things that aren't there. I find it pretty hilarious that every time I drop a sarcastic post, I get a contingent of you, Whiney, Shipz, or sarge telling me I'm angry.

I called you an asshole because I felt you were needlessly calling me out for being angry or whatever it was you meant by being "at 11". You shifted it from talking about the show to making personal attacks. Not that that excuses me calling you an asshole, but its pretty lol for you to needle me and then claim I "went crazy".

the astronaut paninis and Blitler reminded me of a thing from X-Files. something about Mulder getting threatened by a bunch or people and one was wearing a convincing Nixon mask (or something like that) so that if he told anybody about what happened he'd sound totally nutso.

anyone can go from 0-11. it takes a special poster to take it from 11 back to 0.

That whole sequence made waiting for the return of the air conditioner repair annex worth it.

But now that Troy has rebuffed their advances, does this mean no more John Goodman? I hope not.

I think the cut to Goodman saying it isn't over is a good sign he'll be back. Really missing John Oliver this season.

I loved that they showed the room that "room temperature" is based on.

I gotta stop watching the teasers/promos; I'd already heard the "this is The Room" joke about 10 times. But I liked where they went with it.

this might actually be my 2nd fave episode so far this season, after the multiple timelines ep. pierce's dad was so weird and creepy and kind of looked like the dean

I could not stop lolling at the ivory hair. I read about it on the A/V Club but erroneously thought they just meant the color and that that was what was making it photograph so strangely.

The ivory hair was genius, as was his spiel about the Swedes.

Man is there still no John Oliver? Series has been great so far but his character is one of my favourites outside the study group.

I got even geekier and flashed back to that issue of ALL-STAR SUPERMAN where Luther ended his interview with Clark with a baboon wearing a Superman outfit and claimed to have singlehandedly destroyed the credibility of the Daily Planet.

I saw one episode of this - the Call of Duty one - and holy fuck it was turgid rubbish. Is this a show that only americans get?

I'm guessing it's the one with Abed & Troy's new friend that they didn't want Britta to date. The "hit me with your genie bottle" / "my next door neighbor is jazz musician" one.

I didn't think Community was funny at all until I saw the first paintball episode. Every show I've seen since then has been good to amazing. (Even the pilot, which I initially hated, was a lot funnier after watching the paintball episode.)

There is a certain level of "buy-in" you have to commit to before the show will start to work, IMO.

yeah, paintball, that's the one I meant.

First season's xmas episode was when I first realized the show was on a roll, though I was aware it had been getting progressively funnier/better up to that point.

Well the paintball one and the "Call of Duty one" are wildly different episodes. I do have to say that if you thought the paintball episode was shit, you just probably aren't going to like the show.

I was basically in love with this from the episode when Pierce joins the band.

I was down from the first episode when Annie says "we should talk to Jeff about his tardiness" & Pierce says "don't use that word around Abed" :D

i'm kind of glad about the lack of oliver so far- it means there is going to be a whole psych episode w/ britta and him.

yeah this is def not just an american thing, tho it is a meta thing like the best simpsons but live action. also you know we once had a thread about musicians actively enjoy what they are doing and how that makes you enjoy their music so much more? that is the sort of vibe i get from community and p&r

Thats pretty otm re: the vibe of those shows. I also think thats what is missing from The Office now as well. Back in the peaks of seasons 2 and 3 I got that vibe, but its long gone from that show.

Oliver only usually turns up in half a season anyway, so it's likely we just won't see him at all til after Christmas.

I ignored this show until the first Christmas episode. They had me at "Say the whole word!" "...Jewey?"
