britta is ethereally gorgeous this season, but yeah the funeral scene in particular was amazing.

If Harmon isn't working up to an episode at an Inspector Spacetime convention then he's the most wasteful cunt in the world.

This. I can understand, given the ratings and Harmon's overal approach, why he tosses bones to the rabid fans like this, but the Inspector Spacetime thing seems way too forced and overdone. I was actually fine with it until last night's (otherwise incredible) episode when Troy and Abed just randomly called each other Constable and Inspector.

How quick is the turnaround on these things? Have they seriously had time to rewrite and refilm bits based on fan reaction already?

Judging by the interviews upthread, Elementary Chaos Theory and the Halloween one had already been filmed when the series started. Calling bullshit on this theory.

So do you have filming dates for last nights? Like I said, last night was the first time it actually felt kind of forced. All I'm saying is that it needs to lead to a big payoff.

Because its getting run into the ground and I'd be a lot more okay with it if there's a payoff.

I don't really see it as being run into the ground any more than any other facet of Troy and Abed's relationship; look at it like it's their handshake.

It isn't really getting run into the ground. I haven't seen the most recent episode but they've barely mentioned it up to now, only hinted at it.

I'm wondering the same thing! I had a mild chuckle at you describing a lukewarm disagreement as being "butthurt" and then you ACTUALLY go from 0 to 11 in the most ironic way possible... It's kind of amazing.

Its so funny that for a board so dependent on snark, irony, and sarcasm, that you have such a hard time comprehending it. Of course I didn't think anyone was seriously butthurt over this. I just was laughing that there were such quick defenders of the gag. It was like I said Inspector Spacetime was ruining the show or something.

the astronaut paninis and Blitler reminded me of a thing from X-Files. something about Mulder getting threatened by a bunch or people and one was wearing a convincing Nixon mask (or something like that) so that if he told anybody about what happened he'd sound totally nutso.

That whole sequence made waiting for the return of the air conditioner repair annex worth it.

But now that Troy has rebuffed their advances, does this mean no more John Goodman? I hope not.

I think the cut to Goodman saying it isn't over is a good sign he'll be back. Really missing John Oliver this season.
