wilders is a troublemaker but he isn't remotely a nazi

Nigel Farage is a fucking hero (nakhchivan), Monday, 31 October 2011 18:27 (fourteen years ago)

Oh he's a nazi alright, he just replaced jews with muslims tbh

Y Kant Lou Reed (Le Bateau Ivre), Monday, 31 October 2011 19:31 (fourteen years ago)

who does g.neville's research for his monday night tactics breakdowns?

he's kinda charmless w/an annoying voice but he's actually not bad on tactics

cozen, Monday, 31 October 2011 19:34 (fourteen years ago)

neville is perturbingly otm on occasion

tbf to Geert Wilders, you can be a racist hatemonger without being a Nazi

Agyness Dei (Noodle Vague), Monday, 31 October 2011 19:35 (fourteen years ago)

neville is....good, i think most agree

the jew/muslim substitution isn't capable of being made, the former being far more ethno- than religious from a nazi pov

it's bad rhetoric to call people nazis unless they are nazis

or john terry

Yeah I know, I was trolling. Racist he most definitely is.

the whole 'let the fa take their time' thing nult is saying is a load of mendacious shite, pretty much an invitation to whitewash

the fa desparately waiting for the news cycle to pass but at least anton ferdinand seems pretty clear now....

You have to wonder what there is to investigate. They have the video, they can talk to the dozen or so people who were within earshot in a matter of days, i'd have thought.

Mohombi Khush Hua (ShariVari), Monday, 31 October 2011 19:57 (fourteen years ago)

getting them to agree on the story is the hard part tbh

totally xp

Nigel Farage is a fucking hero (nakhchivan), Monday, 31 October 2011 20:01 (fourteen years ago)

I didn't see Neville's analysis, what was he talking about?

Chris, Monday, 31 October 2011 20:05 (fourteen years ago)

caught a touch of him pointing out that rooney's moved up into midfield, unconvincing

occupy wall street 2: rummy never sleeps (darraghmac), Monday, 31 October 2011 20:07 (fourteen years ago)

wayne rooney is a united legend tho

Nigel Farage is a fucking hero (nakhchivan), Monday, 31 October 2011 20:11 (fourteen years ago)

(Obertan cross, nice backward-leaning header from Ba, Newcastle 1-0)

boxall, Monday, 31 October 2011 20:13 (fourteen years ago)

Shawcross off injured inside 20', possibly after a challenge with supposed ticking time bomb Ba - really enjoying this match.

boxall, Monday, 31 October 2011 20:19 (fourteen years ago)

university challenge is p good tonight tbh

occupy wall street 2: rummy never sleeps (darraghmac), Monday, 31 October 2011 20:21 (fourteen years ago)

Rooney did play in midfield on the weekend.

Number None, Monday, 31 October 2011 20:22 (fourteen years ago)

Norwich fan? How did I miss this?! You've been among ILF's top transfer targets for a while now.

Heh, yeah, I kind of just lurk on the football threads, and ILE in general. I'm mostly just on ILG. Also, these football threads move too fast for me; miss a weekend and there's hundreds more posts! Have to admit, I didn't even know there was a board for the football, as I don't normally scroll down the boards list that far. Anyway.

I reckon Norwich will be near the top of the bottom half by Christmas, and testing my loyalty by the end of the season, but I'm enjoying it while we're on-track for the 40+ points target for relegation safety. After watching how quickly the big boys can turn a season around (Arsenal this year, Liverpool to a degree last year) when it's this tight, I feel like we're always going to balancing on the edge of a dramatic fall from grace.

Newcastle Stoke game kinda boring so far. Reckon Newcastle will hold the win now though. Demba Ba just won't stop scoring, eh?

CraigG, Monday, 31 October 2011 20:39 (fourteen years ago)

pulis rejected ba saying his injury record was a timebomb or something

Nigel Farage is a fucking hero (nakhchivan), Monday, 31 October 2011 20:41 (fourteen years ago)

ffs can we get back to spurs pls

occupy wall street 2: rummy never sleeps (darraghmac), Monday, 31 October 2011 20:41 (fourteen years ago)

Good to have you on board, Craig. I appreciate that it takes time to get acclimatised but we're looking for you to push on now and post day-in-day-out. And no need to worry about keeping up, obv, mostly it's just a big mancrush on John Terry.

Serious question though: how has Lambert managed to put together a crack outfit basically from park players?

Ismael Klata, Monday, 31 October 2011 20:51 (fourteen years ago)

because coaching is easy while they still want it cf ipswich hull etc

occupy wall street 2: rummy never sleeps (darraghmac), Monday, 31 October 2011 20:54 (fourteen years ago)

I just assumed he (or at least his scouting staff) plays far too much Football Manager, and therefor know all these random cheap dudes from Brighton and Hove, with flagging careers, that somehow are up to scratch.

CraigG, Monday, 31 October 2011 21:02 (fourteen years ago)

nah fm coaches have a history of sucking (hey sven).

a hoy hoy, Monday, 31 October 2011 21:17 (fourteen years ago)

i am thinking of doing a 'best player to watch in the league rite now' poll of ten players. ba, silva, rvi, aguero, supermario, mata, suarez and....? all about current form, so is modric worth including? cabaye maybe? gervinho? some utd dullard i guess? j beezy?

a hoy hoy, Monday, 31 October 2011 21:20 (fourteen years ago)

You forgot Sturridge.

James Mitchell, Monday, 31 October 2011 21:28 (fourteen years ago)

where is he these days?

a hoy hoy, Monday, 31 October 2011 21:37 (fourteen years ago)

Silva, RVP, Suarez, Hernandez, Mata, van der Vaart, Cabaye, that Swansea Silkworm guy, Nigel Reo-Coker

Ismael Klata, Monday, 31 October 2011 21:37 (fourteen years ago)

modric parker from our bunch

occupy wall street 2: rummy never sleeps (darraghmac), Monday, 31 October 2011 21:42 (fourteen years ago)

^ Chicharito is great to watch, makes far more intelligent runs than just those where he actually receives the ball.

Leon Britton rather boring I think, that's his role. Parker also excellent in his role but dull.

Seamus Coleman was exciting Saturday. Also Drenthe, Hoolahan, Dempsey.

boxall, Monday, 31 October 2011 21:43 (fourteen years ago)

Drenthe is looking the player he should have been when Real bought him: half decent.

I always forget Lil Pea exists. Wonder why.

a hoy hoy, Monday, 31 October 2011 21:51 (fourteen years ago)

that's how he gets you

Number None, Monday, 31 October 2011 21:52 (fourteen years ago)

Silva's been a class apart all season - it would be unfair on the others to include him.

a guy called Gerard (onimo), Monday, 31 October 2011 21:52 (fourteen years ago)

crouch, never been great.

Summer Slam! (Ste), Monday, 31 October 2011 21:53 (fourteen years ago)

That clip from Goodison late last season where Silva killed a garryowen stone-dead and the whole crowd went 'ooh!' - I kept that saved on my BT Vision box for months.

Ismael Klata, Monday, 31 October 2011 21:55 (fourteen years ago)

Silva may be hands down the best player but this isn't about class or talent

a hoy hoy, Monday, 31 October 2011 21:56 (fourteen years ago)

nothing boring about parker tackling three players in a row and winning cf yesterday

occupy wall street 2: rummy never sleeps (darraghmac), Monday, 31 October 2011 21:56 (fourteen years ago)

Just seen last night's result.

What kind of world do we live in where Newcastle can be third in the league? Society is in the gutter etc

Y Kant Lou Reed (Le Bateau Ivre), Tuesday, 1 November 2011 11:54 (fourteen years ago)

still hoping that it's a kind fixture and injury list and nothing more, otherwise i really do fear for wenger and kenny

occupy wall street 2: rummy never sleeps (darraghmac), Tuesday, 1 November 2011 12:03 (fourteen years ago)

Nice to see that the 2hr re-run of Monday Night Football Sky showed this morning was 1 1/2 hrs of GNev talking tactics, 15mins of the game, 15mins of player/manager interviews. GNev was great, Stoke are unwatchable.

It is p amazing how well the likes of Tiote, Obertan, Cabaye and Ba have come together, not to mention Ben Arfa has yet to become a first team player yet.

More importantly though, Ashley is nowhere in the papers and Barton, Nolan and Carroll have fucked off, meaning the atmosphere at the club must be so un-newcastle like.

a hoy hoy, Tuesday, 1 November 2011 12:20 (fourteen years ago)

Obertan is still pretty shit, ditto Leon Best who is becoming this year's classic 15-goals-off-the-arse striker.

Cabaye and Ba are very good though. Think they're running on momentum a bit and they haven't had to play anyone particularly difficult yet (other than Spurs who should have beaten them, and Arsenal, who we've established were shit).

Number of big* six (Man U, Man C, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool, Spurs) faced in league so far: 2 - draws with Spurs and Arsenal, both at home.

3 of their next 4 fixtures are away at both Manchester clubs then Chelsea at home. Might be a more realistic looking table after that.

*when if ever etc

Police are making inquiries into racist abuse directed at the Newcastle United striker Sammy Ameobi on Twitter. A tweet posted by a user called @JonnnnyPhipps on Sunday said: "@Sammy_Ameobi your hand is nearly the same colour. #nigger".

In response a statement on Newcastle United's official website said: "The racist comment is wholly unacceptable. Newcastle United will not tolerate racism of any kind and will take the strongest possible action against those responsible."

Sammy, 19, is the younger brother of the former England under-21 striker Shola Ameobi, 30, who has played for Newcastle all his career.

A spokeswoman for Northumbria Police said: "The matter was reported to police on Sunday. Police are investigating."

Meanwhile, the Queens Park Rangers defender Anton Ferdinand has also been targeted with racist abuse via his Twitter account. One tweet said: "RT this you fucking BLACK CUNT, 1 England captain" in support of John Terry, to which Ferdinand re-posted another message in response which read: "More proof of JT leading his moronic fans by example."

James Mitchell, Tuesday, 1 November 2011 14:09 (fourteen years ago)

it is fucking horrible any time someone racially abuses someone but fuck if it took shola amoebi for the police to notice that people on the internet are racist fucks. they should head to a wrestling message board some time.

a hoy hoy, Tuesday, 1 November 2011 14:46 (fourteen years ago)

Shit, just read that Jonathon Wilson piece about the Steau player being rendered deaf in one ear after a 'fan' ran onto the pitch and punched him round the side of the head :(

was kind of thinking about starting a thread about that one, but I didn't know what to call it... could ILF use an "ultras" thread?

"batshit crazy violent" ultras
