Agyness Dei (Noodle Vague), Monday, 31 October 2011 00:48 (fourteen years ago)

i don't know who any of those arsenal players are, city won't implode, spurs are stronger and liverpool are comin back and i don't think blasé references to being the historical gimp fourth in a now more-than-four horse race are gonna cut it

interim dn (darraghmac), Monday, 31 October 2011 00:50 (fourteen years ago)

city
utd
chelsea
spurs
arsenal
liverpool

interim dn (darraghmac), Monday, 31 October 2011 00:55 (fourteen years ago)

Yeah. Picking 3-5 is tough but I'd put money now on Liverpool 6th or lower, if I was one for that.

boxall, Monday, 31 October 2011 00:57 (fourteen years ago)

i want liverpool and real madrid to do badly and don't care about a lot else this season

Nigel Farage is a fucking hero (nakhchivan), Monday, 31 October 2011 01:00 (fourteen years ago)

sam's right about it making for good watching though. Just don't see liverpool breaking down teams well enough to get top 4, and wenger iirc was out only a fortnight ago so i dunno has kieron gibbs solved that all by himself since and tbh i'm p confident spurs will be closer to chelsea than to either of those teams by end of may

interim dn (darraghmac), Monday, 31 October 2011 01:02 (fourteen years ago)

liverpool team is pretty horrible

Nigel Farage is a fucking hero (nakhchivan), Monday, 31 October 2011 01:02 (fourteen years ago)

in what way

interim dn (darraghmac), Monday, 31 October 2011 01:03 (fourteen years ago)

mix of players still not making sense to me

interim dn (darraghmac), Monday, 31 October 2011 01:04 (fourteen years ago)

team full of thuggish fairground footballers with one endearing racist adding a morsel of flair

Nigel Farage is a fucking hero (nakhchivan), Monday, 31 October 2011 01:06 (fourteen years ago)

don't think suarez is racist tbh but i accept without a poll it's moot at best

interim dn (darraghmac), Monday, 31 October 2011 01:07 (fourteen years ago)

Suarez has to tire eventually with the number of games he's played in 2011. Downing's been unimpressive, Henderson not going to get a proper shot unless Gerrard stays hurt. Vulnerable central defence.

boxall, Monday, 31 October 2011 01:08 (fourteen years ago)

downing as left henderson as right prongs in a carrolk trident, i still believe

interim dn (darraghmac), Monday, 31 October 2011 01:09 (fourteen years ago)

Liverpool team is also particularly ugly

Number None, Monday, 31 October 2011 01:10 (fourteen years ago)

just has the look of a st0rmfr0nt convention in halifax, random imported dorks and twitchy psychos bonding uneasily

Nigel Farage is a fucking hero (nakhchivan), Monday, 31 October 2011 01:11 (fourteen years ago)

i must say this is all very spurious

interim dn (darraghmac), Monday, 31 October 2011 01:18 (fourteen years ago)

lol

Nigel Farage is a fucking hero (nakhchivan), Monday, 31 October 2011 01:22 (fourteen years ago)

iirc our resident liverpool fans were annoyed when u were being spurious this afternoon

Nigel Farage is a fucking hero (nakhchivan), Monday, 31 October 2011 01:23 (fourteen years ago)

true

interim dn (darraghmac), Monday, 31 October 2011 01:33 (fourteen years ago)

disregarding spuriousnes for a second, they play shitty football for such an expensive side, a high-functioning versh of o'neill's villa, seldom any subtlety or change of pace

Nigel Farage is a fucking hero (nakhchivan), Monday, 31 October 2011 01:38 (fourteen years ago)

pace is a problem for them, after suarez you're looking at the fullbacks to provide any speed, right?

I dunno, just think this year's too soon into the recovery project for top four.

interim dn (darraghmac), Monday, 31 October 2011 01:40 (fourteen years ago)

think they need a better manager to go top 4

Agyness Dei (Noodle Vague), Monday, 31 October 2011 01:44 (fourteen years ago)

I guarantee that we will not finish in the top four this season.

Chris, Monday, 31 October 2011 01:44 (fourteen years ago)

(see what I did with the Rafa 'guarantee' quote thing, did ya, did ya?)

Chris, Monday, 31 October 2011 01:47 (fourteen years ago)

idk, i was laying into yall for hyping them six weeks ago, but they still have a reasonable chance of getting to the cl.....35/40% maybe

Nigel Farage is a fucking hero (nakhchivan), Monday, 31 October 2011 01:48 (fourteen years ago)

Gerrard's injured again btw.

Chris, Monday, 31 October 2011 01:56 (fourteen years ago)

how do you rate downing, henderson, adam?

Nigel Farage is a fucking hero (nakhchivan), Monday, 31 October 2011 01:59 (fourteen years ago)

adam is a shit cunt tbf, slower than metastasis and similarly dangerous

Nigel Farage is a fucking hero (nakhchivan), Monday, 31 October 2011 02:00 (fourteen years ago)

Downing impressed me early on, but he's gone quiet over the last few games. Adam started poorly with flashes of brilliance, but is getting better and more consistent. Been a few weeks since he shot from the halfway line anyway. I really like the look of Henderson - moves the ball quickly, can play one/two touch. Reckon he's been more effective on the few occasions he's played in the middle, rather than on the right.

Chris, Monday, 31 October 2011 02:08 (fourteen years ago)

Warmed to Adam since he baked a cake on Blue Peter.

Chris, Monday, 31 October 2011 02:09 (fourteen years ago)

henderson is definitely not a winger, he is a sort of energetic combination player who can do a bit of everything

cleverly, milner, ramsey, ramires are the closest likenesses in the other teams

Nigel Farage is a fucking hero (nakhchivan), Monday, 31 October 2011 02:14 (fourteen years ago)

Would substitute Song for Ramsey, who's starting to look like more just useful. Song clearly can't be expected to stay where he's stationed anyway.

boxall, Monday, 31 October 2011 02:20 (fourteen years ago)

more *than* just useful

boxall, Monday, 31 October 2011 02:20 (fourteen years ago)

ramsey is better than those players but at the moment but not categorically unlike them

Nigel Farage is a fucking hero (nakhchivan), Monday, 31 October 2011 02:25 (fourteen years ago)

but at the moment

Nigel Farage is a fucking hero (nakhchivan), Monday, 31 October 2011 02:26 (fourteen years ago)

Holy shit, RVP has actually had to deny Nazi salute allegations. This is getting ridiculous.

Number None, Monday, 31 October 2011 09:12 (fourteen years ago)

Got to say, when he did it, my first reaction was "Why is he giving a Nazi salute?"
Happy to believe he wasn't, but I don't think it's an unfair question.

Viva Brother Beyond (ithappens), Monday, 31 October 2011 09:36 (fourteen years ago)

Having just watched it again, he initially does the dirt of your shoulder thing but the subsequent out-thrust arm really is unfortunately Hitler-esque

Number None, Monday, 31 October 2011 09:52 (fourteen years ago)

But when will filthy foreigner Arsene Wenger apologise for being a paedofile?

James Mitchell, Monday, 31 October 2011 09:55 (fourteen years ago)

yeah i did a nazi salute gag at the time but i didn't really think he was doing it

Agyness Dei (Noodle Vague), Monday, 31 October 2011 09:59 (fourteen years ago)

Me too. It's quite bizarre he has to apologise/"explain himself" for this

Y Kant Lou Reed (Le Bateau Ivre), Monday, 31 October 2011 10:00 (fourteen years ago)

Yeah, i posted about it during the match. Can't help feeling in some way responsible

Number None, Monday, 31 October 2011 10:03 (fourteen years ago)

Wait so that song I heard on Saturday wasn't the Arsenal fans singing "there's only one Nazi rapist"? Disappointing.

Matt DC, Monday, 31 October 2011 10:28 (fourteen years ago)

So, considering Chelsea were drawing at the time, did the famously reformed gambler and brave English lion John Terry really slip over or is he now fixing matches to help him pay off his mother's £4mn mortgage?

James Mitchell, Monday, 31 October 2011 10:43 (fourteen years ago)

on his money Terry's finances must be firmly in the blind

Agyness Dei (Noodle Vague), Monday, 31 October 2011 10:55 (fourteen years ago)

"It has been brought to my attention of some ridiculous allegations concerning my celebration of one of my goals yesterday," Van Persie said on Twitter late Sunday.

"It is totally ludicrous to suggest that my action of brushing my shoulder and pointing to my fans could be construed as anything else but of a showing of joy and celebration.

"To suggest this meant anything to the contrary is insulting and absolutely absurd as nothing else came into my mind."

disappointed that he bothered to reply to this drivel

if he had claimed it was a john terry ref that would have been great tho

u can tell rvp wants to be liked tho.....always eager in interviews, giving champagne to his teammates, giving away his shirt and bowing to the crowd on saturday

Nigel Farage is a fucking hero (nakhchivan), Monday, 31 October 2011 11:55 (fourteen years ago)

Hitler wanted to be liked too
