Uh-oh.

Matt DC, Sunday, 30 October 2011 17:22 (fourteen years ago)

Oh my word

Mister Potato shares Manchester United’s commitment to (Nasty, Brutish & Short), Sunday, 30 October 2011 17:23 (fourteen years ago)

Can I just apologise for this yesterday?:

Terry fires it in from point black range

― Mister Potato shares Manchester United’s commitment to (Nasty, Brutish & Short), Saturday, 29 October 2011 13:31

I don't what the fuck I was thinking of, but it clearly makes no sense whatsoever. It's bad enough that the black/blind thing had been done to death already, but 'blank' simply isn't one of those two words. It took me a few hours to realise my own idiocy.

interim dn (darraghmac), Sunday, 30 October 2011 17:33 (fourteen years ago)

kenny the diff btwn us and fourth, can't really complain about conceding

interim dn (darraghmac), Sunday, 30 October 2011 17:34 (fourteen years ago)

third poor finish from ade

mizzell, Sunday, 30 October 2011 17:34 (fourteen years ago)

Kenny reminds me of Gomes, alternately calamitous and amazing.

Matt DC, Sunday, 30 October 2011 17:36 (fourteen years ago)

Loving this hubris, guys. Anyone want to throw in a record score prediction?

Nigel Farage is a fucking hero (nakhchivan), Sunday, 30 October 2011 17:48 (fourteen years ago)

yeah ffs what's the live game lads?

interim dn (darraghmac), Sunday, 30 October 2011 17:53 (fourteen years ago)

vdv wasteful since the hour mark no wonder arry replaces him

interim dn (darraghmac), Sunday, 30 October 2011 17:53 (fourteen years ago)

When he can play like that for the first hour I'm willing to forgive. Should sub him for Defoe in every game though.

Was happy when Sandro came on but wished he'd come on earlier, we looked like we needed shoring up in the second half.

Apparently this is our best ever start to a Premiership season? Frontloading the pain has given us a very kind fixture list for the rest of the season as well, including a run-in against teams who with any luck will be sitting nicely in midtable with nothing to play for.

Matt DC, Sunday, 30 October 2011 18:24 (fourteen years ago)

Was a wobbly start but my impression is you're starting to purr now. I assume noöne regrets throwing the City game in light of what theyve done since. How high do you dare to dream though? Is 2nd, say, remotely feasible?

Ismael Klata, Sunday, 30 October 2011 18:34 (fourteen years ago)

2nd isn't remotely feasible. 3rd is probably out as well barring some hilarious self-inflicted crisis at Chelsea.

Matt DC, Sunday, 30 October 2011 18:36 (fourteen years ago)

no, it's not.

Fourth should be expected, tho, if we can keep adebayor and vdv fit. If we do that and can pick from king, gallas and dawson at cb we should be pushing for 3rd. More to come from the flanks than what we've seen before today even if we can't rely on vdv scoring game.

interim dn (darraghmac), Sunday, 30 October 2011 18:37 (fourteen years ago)

Also Arsenal probably aren't going to recapture their early season comic form.

Matt DC, Sunday, 30 October 2011 18:37 (fourteen years ago)

think arse and chels might well blow hot and cold all season tho

btw is it me or was Torres totally anonymous yesterday?

Agyness Dei (Noodle Vague), Sunday, 30 October 2011 18:39 (fourteen years ago)

Not just you, he was invisible

Y Kant Lou Reed (Le Bateau Ivre), Sunday, 30 October 2011 18:40 (fourteen years ago)

It's almost like he became the guy his teammates don't want to involve in the play tbh

Y Kant Lou Reed (Le Bateau Ivre), Sunday, 30 October 2011 18:40 (fourteen years ago)

Arsenal aren't very far back, but they're still no good.

Ismael Klata, Sunday, 30 October 2011 18:40 (fourteen years ago)

my repeated comments on torres's anonymity were, apparently, anonymous

interim dn (darraghmac), Sunday, 30 October 2011 18:41 (fourteen years ago)

I didn't see those comments D, but maybe I'm black

Y Kant Lou Reed (Le Bateau Ivre), Sunday, 30 October 2011 18:42 (fourteen years ago)

blind, maybe I'm blind, I mean

Y Kant Lou Reed (Le Bateau Ivre), Sunday, 30 October 2011 18:42 (fourteen years ago)

arsenal won't get fourth without serious defensive recruitment in jan, more worried about liverpool.

Damn near more worried about newcastle tbh

interim dn (darraghmac), Sunday, 30 October 2011 18:43 (fourteen years ago)

I reckon Stoke will beat Newcastle tomorrow.

I think if I were to pinpoint one thing that separates Spurs this season to last it'd be assurance. In goal, in defensive midfield and in front of goal. Last year I got the sense that not all the team quite trusted one another and we just look a lot more composed this season. Ledley playing most of the games helps as well obviously but it's rubbing off on people like Kaboul as well.

Matt DC, Sunday, 30 October 2011 18:46 (fourteen years ago)

blind, maybe I'm blind, I mean

Think the word you're looking for is 'blank'

Mister Potato shares Manchester United’s commitment to (Nasty, Brutish & Short), Sunday, 30 October 2011 18:47 (fourteen years ago)

was at my dad's yesterday so didn't read the thread properly re: invisible torres

Agyness Dei (Noodle Vague), Sunday, 30 October 2011 18:52 (fourteen years ago)

torres' most evident decline is in his lack of agility

he is still fast enough in a straight line but he doesn't seem to be able to shift his weight and shimmy around defenders

eto'o has always been great at this, he can get shoved around by huge defenders but seldom loses his balance

Nigel Farage is a fucking hero (nakhchivan), Sunday, 30 October 2011 18:59 (fourteen years ago)

If Spurs had had three men unjustly sent off in the opening ten minutes I reckon we might have got a point out of that. That said, the third goal should have been disallowed, and all involved in it booked, for conspicious flair and one-touch passing in a confined space. The English game has no room for that kind of filth.

Viva Brother Beyond (ithappens), Sunday, 30 October 2011 19:22 (fourteen years ago)

lennon the only englishman involved tbf

Why is Terry calling him a "black c***" a big thing? Anton Ferdinand IS black..! Him being called a "c***" is just language frowned upon.
TheNickBurdett 2 minutes ago

Nigel Farage is a fucking hero (nakhchivan), Sunday, 30 October 2011 20:09 (fourteen years ago)

Ugh. Been reading the same "what's wrong with that? Anton is black!" 'argument' for days now. I thought I visited the wrong football websites, but people on all football websites say the same thing...

Y Kant Lou Reed (Le Bateau Ivre), Sunday, 30 October 2011 20:12 (fourteen years ago)

btw matt, walker is 'decent' and is better than decent going forward, but he's been prone to leaving us light at the back. Suppose he'll grow out of that, look at BAE, exceptional at both ends today

interim dn (darraghmac), Sunday, 30 October 2011 20:40 (fourteen years ago)

It's almost like he became the guy his teammates don't want to involve in the play tbh

Sturridge saw a lot of the ball, prob because A Santos was such an obvious liability while the central defenders were solid, and was selfish & wasteful with it. Don't think he's very good on the outside of a front three, would have started Malouda there.

boxall, Sunday, 30 October 2011 23:05 (fourteen years ago)

torres also ran into a lot of hopeless positions tbf

interim dn (darraghmac), Sunday, 30 October 2011 23:15 (fourteen years ago)

Lukaku looked good when he came on i thought

Agyness Dei (Noodle Vague), Sunday, 30 October 2011 23:28 (fourteen years ago)

he did nothing save for the foul on andre santos before mata's goal

god guy mowbray is such a fucking wanker

Nigel Farage is a fucking hero (nakhchivan), Sunday, 30 October 2011 23:37 (fourteen years ago)

xp

nah he was lively and direct, not sure how much contact there was with Santos either, i thought he went over v. easily

Agyness Dei (Noodle Vague), Sunday, 30 October 2011 23:37 (fourteen years ago)

uhm, more than enough to obstruct him

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0thuxrI7Pss

he's mostly looked lost for chelsea, tries to take on defenders and just loses the ball

he shouldn't be played on the wing anyway

Nigel Farage is a fucking hero (nakhchivan), Sunday, 30 October 2011 23:47 (fourteen years ago)

Way to pass it directly to a blue shirt under no pressure, André.

Nigel Farage is a fucking hero (nakhchivan), Monday, 31 October 2011 00:07 (fourteen years ago)

Hate him.

BTW do you think Gervinho's been poor generally, or was your post yesterday immediately after his open-goal miss?

boxall, Monday, 31 October 2011 00:10 (fourteen years ago)

i think he is alright but he does duplicate what walcott offers and i'd like to see more of arshavin in the big games

Nigel Farage is a fucking hero (nakhchivan), Monday, 31 October 2011 00:14 (fourteen years ago)

arshavin needed competition

Not sure that gervinho "80% pass completion including some assists' is a direct xerox of the boy walcott tbph
