Up to the sending off United were losing 1-0 and struggling to impose themselves in midfield. If Evans hadn't been such a dick it would probably have finished 2-0 or 1-1. After the red card it was just a question of how much United would lose by. The three goals in quick succession right at the end were a result of total dereliction of duty by the defence. There are far bigger questions to ask about Ferdinand and Evra than Rooney. Personally, I hope Berbatov gets a game at the weekend, though.

I'd describe him as a "tanner ba' player" - or at least the modern equivalent of one

and a bit ay a ned as well I suppose - there was footage of him on tv the other week going through the airport in a cheap suit and trainers which is standard court appearance attire in the ned fraternity. His accent isn't too rough for an Airdrie boy - spending almost half his life in England has softened him up I think.
