A part-time model
Spending part of your time modeling
And part of your time next to me
My place is usually tidier than this

"Team Building Exercise 1999!"

James Redd and the Blecchs, Friday, 28 September 2007 14:10 (eighteen years ago)

I, also, watched Ep 1 this week. And spent ages trying to work out where I'd seen the American girl Jemaine was crushing on before. Thankfully, I realised.

Forest Pines Mk2, Friday, 28 September 2007 14:19 (eighteen years ago)

ok why would you post that and not say from where? god.

No Sellotape, no credibility.

Or does it have a different name?

James Redd and the Blecchs, Saturday, 29 September 2007 00:27 (eighteen years ago)

pencils in the wind

latebloomer, Saturday, 29 September 2007 00:29 (eighteen years ago)

Pencils in the wind is the Sellotape song.

Trayce, Saturday, 29 September 2007 00:30 (eighteen years ago)

argh xpost.

Trayce, Saturday, 29 September 2007 00:30 (eighteen years ago)

OK, thanks. Actually some of the lyrics floating around the interweb say "Love is like a delicate pencil" but I hear it has "Love is like a mechanical pencil." Anyone else have an opinion?

James Redd and the Blecchs, Saturday, 29 September 2007 01:13 (eighteen years ago)

chaki, that's heroic. Thanks!

kenan, Saturday, 29 September 2007 01:15 (eighteen years ago)

Sorry not "love" but "lives"

James Redd and the Blecchs, Saturday, 29 September 2007 01:17 (eighteen years ago)

there was a dude at the Animal Collective show last night who looked like Jemaine. same hair, same glasses, even a Jemaine-like outfit; there's no way it was not intentional. this led to a bunch of speculation as to whether or not there are people who are so super into this show that they divide up all the people they know into "Brets" and "Jemaines", and, eventually, to the ridiculous sentence "I like to think of myself as a Bret trapped in the body of a Jemaine".

bernard snowy, Saturday, 29 September 2007 01:31 (eighteen years ago)

Yeah, I've never seen a guy who looks like that at an indie rock show before. Can't be a coincidence.

Alex in Baltimore, Saturday, 29 September 2007 01:43 (eighteen years ago)

Last try: "retractable pencils"

James Redd and the Blecchs, Saturday, 29 September 2007 01:44 (eighteen years ago)

The songs are funnier live than they are in the programme.

Peep Show.

(yes, slow response, I know)

Forest Pines Mk2, Monday, 21 January 2008 14:24 (eighteen years ago)

The songs are funnier live than they are in the programme.

Agreed. "Bowie in Space" and "Robots (The Humans Are Dead)" are two huge examples of this.

Pleasant Plains, Monday, 21 January 2008 15:39 (eighteen years ago)

Love the live version of Robots - I always crack up at "Affirmative, I poked one it was dead".

chap, Monday, 21 January 2008 15:41 (eighteen years ago)

i love live and tv versions. they both work on different levels.

chaki, Monday, 21 January 2008 15:46 (eighteen years ago)

"Sniff this one"

sunny successor, Monday, 21 January 2008 16:01 (eighteen years ago)

I was starting to get a bit bored with it (too many scenarios) and then the final episode was a complete classic. Todd was a perfect villain. Crazy Dogs! I loved when Jemaine was supposed to kick him out and somehow ended up kicking out Bret instead. And Murray's confusion of the legality of the sacking. And Bret's angry dance.

"I'm having lunch with Tori Amos"

Alba, Monday, 21 January 2008 17:28 (eighteen years ago)

Sorry - that was supposed to read "(too many samey scenarios)"

Alba, Monday, 21 January 2008 17:28 (eighteen years ago)

murray is awesome, he is never not funny

Rhys Darby's stand-up is pretty funny, too.

I watched "Texan Odyssey" yesterday, and when they showed the clip of the Brunettes show, I thought, "Hey, I was there!" Sure enough, you can see my boyfriend in the crowd at one point (I'm standing next to him but someone's in front of me). If only we hadn't left right after the Brunettes' set! We had no idea what we were missing.

lindseykai, Sunday, 27 January 2008 16:57 (eighteen years ago)

two months pass...

So the "album" is out and I just want to throw in my lot with whichever crew it is that's down with "bowie" and "inner city pressure" and "robots" because I suspect those may very well be just as awesome three years from now

it's the fuckups that make it
