stop muammar time (darraghmac), Sunday, 23 October 2011 13:14 (fourteen years ago)

prob just another rooney dive tho right?

stop muammar time (darraghmac), Sunday, 23 October 2011 13:14 (fourteen years ago)

Why was Balotelli booked? He didn't take his short off did he, he only lifted it up?

Y Kant Lou Reed (Le Bateau Ivre), Sunday, 23 October 2011 13:17 (fourteen years ago)

shirt

Y Kant Lou Reed (Le Bateau Ivre), Sunday, 23 October 2011 13:18 (fourteen years ago)

That seems to have become the rule in the past couple of weeks. Paul Schaerner's picked up two bookings for it now.

Ismael Klata, Sunday, 23 October 2011 13:19 (fourteen years ago)

Surely that's just in England then, no?

Y Kant Lou Reed (Le Bateau Ivre), Sunday, 23 October 2011 13:19 (fourteen years ago)

Dunno tbh, I always thought the rule was 'shirt off' too.

Ismael Klata, Sunday, 23 October 2011 13:20 (fourteen years ago)

Is 'revealing a slogan' still a thing?

MPx4A, Sunday, 23 October 2011 13:20 (fourteen years ago)

Chief football writer Phil McNulty at Old Trafford: "Manchester United had barely let Manchester City have the ball until that goal - and Mario Balotelli proved what they can do with it when they get it. Great "Why Always Me?" t-shirt as well. How sad that a humorous moment is rewarded with a yellow card. Hardly provocative."

Y Kant Lou Reed (Le Bateau Ivre), Sunday, 23 October 2011 13:22 (fourteen years ago)

Nult suggests it depends on the nature of the slogan?

Y Kant Lou Reed (Le Bateau Ivre), Sunday, 23 October 2011 13:22 (fourteen years ago)

Schaerner was booked for revealing the club crest though, which is nearly the same as the shirt he's lifting.

Ismael Klata, Sunday, 23 October 2011 13:24 (fourteen years ago)

It's always struck me as a bizarre rule anyway. I can't remember it ever being an issue until the last ten years or so - did they suddenly make the rule up then, or did nobody ever take their top off before?

Mister Potato shares Manchester United’s commitment to (Nasty, Brutish & Short), Sunday, 23 October 2011 13:24 (fourteen years ago)

ravanelli iirc

stop muammar time (darraghmac), Sunday, 23 October 2011 13:25 (fourteen years ago)

Ravanelli started the shirt creativity in the mid 90s as I recall it.

Ismael Klata, Sunday, 23 October 2011 13:25 (fourteen years ago)

Did Ravanelli used to get booked for it?

Mister Potato shares Manchester United’s commitment to (Nasty, Brutish & Short), Sunday, 23 October 2011 13:27 (fourteen years ago)

I think it's worth a bet that Balotelli will be dead before the age of 30. Not sure what the odds would be now though.

James Mitchell, Sunday, 23 October 2011 13:29 (fourteen years ago)

No, because iirc the rule was only brought in in response to excessive shirt-removal at the 2003 Confederations Cup.

Ismael Klata, Sunday, 23 October 2011 13:30 (fourteen years ago)

FFS I think a booking will suffice, James

Ismael Klata, Sunday, 23 October 2011 13:30 (fourteen years ago)

Evans *is* hopeless

Ismael Klata, Sunday, 23 October 2011 13:35 (fourteen years ago)

What the fuck was he thinking?

Mister Potato shares Manchester United’s commitment to (Nasty, Brutish & Short), Sunday, 23 October 2011 13:35 (fourteen years ago)

Yeah that was hopeless

Y Kant Lou Reed (Le Bateau Ivre), Sunday, 23 October 2011 13:36 (fourteen years ago)

He was probably thinking 'this is Old Trafford'

Ismael Klata, Sunday, 23 October 2011 13:37 (fourteen years ago)

Clearly those who think Evans is no good in defence are the same people that never rated the likes of O'Shea. These are superb utility players that are capable of putting in solid and reliable performances in varying positions.

nakhchivan, Sunday, 23 October 2011 13:38 (fourteen years ago)

no peno there, as anderson can do what he likes
Fa rule #3658.b

stop muammar time (darraghmac), Sunday, 23 October 2011 13:39 (fourteen years ago)

It was so blatant (xp - the Evans foul) that my brain was in denial for a moment: I thought the whistle must have already gone and the ref had spotted an earlier foul or something. I'd much rather have gone 2-0 down and kept 11 men than try and chase this game with 10.

Mister Potato shares Manchester United’s commitment to (Nasty, Brutish & Short), Sunday, 23 October 2011 13:41 (fourteen years ago)

United usually get better when they go down to 10 men though, admittedly not against teams this good.

Matt DC, Sunday, 23 October 2011 13:42 (fourteen years ago)

Would've been v 10 men too, seeing as it was Mario

Ismael Klata, Sunday, 23 October 2011 13:42 (fourteen years ago)

who is this ashley young fella

cozen, Sunday, 23 October 2011 13:44 (fourteen years ago)

I mean, it's not even as if it was a last ditch situation: he just couldn't be arsed to try to tackle him so just lazily pulled him down. At least it was outside the box, the only bit he got right.

Mister Potato shares Manchester United’s commitment to (Nasty, Brutish & Short), Sunday, 23 October 2011 13:44 (fourteen years ago)

Are Utd playing three at the back now? My stream is basically a series of blocky photographs.

Ismael Klata, Sunday, 23 October 2011 13:44 (fourteen years ago)

rooney could do with a goal transplant

cozen, Sunday, 23 October 2011 13:45 (fourteen years ago)

tbf to evans, they only need to fluke one in here to get a point, if he'd let mario through they'd need to fluke two

stop muammar time (darraghmac), Sunday, 23 October 2011 13:45 (fourteen years ago)

Have to anyway now

Mister Potato shares Manchester United’s commitment to (Nasty, Brutish & Short), Sunday, 23 October 2011 13:47 (fourteen years ago)

Y Kant Lou Reed (Le Bateau Ivre), Sunday, 23 October 2011 13:49 (fourteen years ago)

charlton, cantona, wes brown, clattenburg, do you hear me mark clattenburg?

Is that anderson's fourth booking?

stop muammar time (darraghmac), Sunday, 23 October 2011 13:49 (fourteen years ago)

aguero silva balotelli is just about my fav epl attack ever

nakhchivan, Sunday, 23 October 2011 13:51 (fourteen years ago)

Sky commentator: "an almost unprecedented situation as United find themselves two goals down against their local rivals with just half an hour to go..." - I can remember a 4-1 and a 3-1 just a few years ago

Mister Potato shares Manchester United’s commitment to (Nasty, Brutish & Short), Sunday, 23 October 2011 13:52 (fourteen years ago)
