i think to some extent this episode exaggerated some of the characters traits in order to emphasize their absence during the roll of the die in which they were gone & also to examine the role they played w/in the group or w/e so it came off as p cartoonish/stupid in places but i liked it i guess im just a sucker for the general premise and i liked seeing the 'what ifs' idk jeff making all these ppl worse was kindof a brilliant way to end this episode??

considering we had annie in a cage protesting a mock UN meeting two episodes ago i didn't think her doing a pizza dance after smoking pot at a party was really that cartoonish

Britta has always done stupid intentionally-written-to-be-unfunny shit like the pizza dance. It was sooooo in character. And LOL at how stupid that shit was. So, I don't get some of you guys, I guess?

they've always been douchebags, the fact that you thought of them as "cool" maybe says more about you than it does about the show.

I loves me some Britta/Gillian Jacobs but I don't think she's anywhere NEAR as good a physical comedienne as Alison Brie. She's just game, I guess, which counts for a lot but I'm not always sold when she goes broad.

any stiffness in Britta's "physical comedy" has been pretty in character (last thing that pizza dance should have been was natural), though I'm certainly all for Alison Brie having more physical moments

all episodes that have alison brie doing physical comedy. conspiracy has her in the hallway 'giving up', for example.

Her tantrum in the UN episode two weeks ago. Awkward, perhaps not comedic, but I liked it.

Also, her faint/fall at the end of the Todd episode.

i remember reading that alison brie worked as a clown before she made it big, whereas i think gillian jacobs studied acting at juilliard? anyway i'm really loving this new, looser britta. like her line last week about worms having tiny faces, she's taking the horrible awkwardness we saw in "turning it into a snake" and letting it run free.

also we got some good troy screaming when he was fighting for the present with pierce! it wasn't quite "troy crying" but it was still quality.

That was perfection, probably in my top 5 episodes ever. The penultimate scene with Jeff's arm was amazing.

Loved this episode.

Pretty much think that Alison Brie's acting/comedic timing is the worst part of the show, I'm really surprised that anyone rates her. She's just so awkward and always "on" in the worst way.

Considering he's been promoted to the main cast we haven't seen much of the Dean so far.

I think that was more about holding onto him because he's been in too much to be considered 'recurring'. Interesting that this episode has been the best of the season so far and featured no Dean or Chang.

I wouldn't lump the Dean in with Chang when it comes to funny/unfunny arguments -- Chang can be a weak link sometimes but the Dean is classic.

I mean you probably weren't doing that, I just am protective of Jim Rash.

Hah, I've just read the rest of this discussion and, well, if you haven't worked out that Britta is a massive dork by now then what show have you been watching? She can do mean-spirited snark (ie everything she said to Jeff for most of the first season) but gentle comedy has always been beyond her. The pizza stuff was funny because it was so lame. And she was kinda high.

Also where is Professor Ian Duncan? Presumably doing Daily Show stuff and Britta studying psychology suggests he'll turn up at some point but I am missing my dose of hilarious fake Britishisms.

john oliver's character is good when he's but he never felt like so much a part of the show that i care whether he comes or goes.
