newark star-ledger has predicted that menendez will win via exit polling, though kean leads in the precincts that have reported as of now.

Eisbär (llamasfur), Wednesday, 8 November 2006 01:55 (nineteen years ago)

the nets have called menendez

there is definitely an Iraq wave - we're in reach of taking NH-1 and NC-8

gabbneb (gabbneb), Wednesday, 8 November 2006 01:57 (nineteen years ago)

Wolf Blitzer's right hand is more annoying than the Accusing Finger of Green Arrow.

My dad has called Virginia for the racist fratboy asscracker.

Euai Kapaui (tracerhand), Wednesday, 8 November 2006 02:01 (nineteen years ago)

AP calls NY for Clinton.

Allen's lead - which was 17,000 a little while ago - is down to 6,000 with 66% reporting.

Michael Jones (MichaelJ), Wednesday, 8 November 2006 02:04 (nineteen years ago)

"One thing I can tell you is this is part of the Democratic playbook," Mehlman said.

keep your ears and eyes open for this one - karl rove has been quietly pimping this line of horseshit at republican fundraisers. they love an opportunity to appear as victims.

xp: (weakly)...yayy...menendez. the guy who favors torture but not the iraq 'war' won. yayy...

GOD PUNCH TO HAWKWIND (yournullfame), Wednesday, 8 November 2006 02:05 (nineteen years ago)

Jim naughtie is shredding the very partisan dem pundit they have on the bbc radio who seems to have come on to make a campaign ad.

Ed (dali), Wednesday, 8 November 2006 02:07 (nineteen years ago)

NPR is calling DeWine.

Alfred, Lord Sotosyn (Alfred Soto), Wednesday, 8 November 2006 02:07 (nineteen years ago)

KY-03 looks to be a dem pickup, 6,500 votes ahead with 96% reporting.

Ed (dali), Wednesday, 8 November 2006 02:11 (nineteen years ago)

NPR also calls Lieberman.

Alfred, Lord Sotosyn (Alfred Soto), Wednesday, 8 November 2006 02:12 (nineteen years ago)

gabbneb (gabbneb), Wednesday, 8 November 2006 02:13 (nineteen years ago)

they're all citing Ed, from like 2 hours ago. do keep up.

Euai Kapaui (tracerhand), Wednesday, 8 November 2006 02:15 (nineteen years ago)

Feeling less confident about VA now - Montgomery is mostly in and Webb has barely won there (51-48). It's Allen by 5,000 with 69% in but, here we go again, the CNN exit polls have been "adjusted" so that Allen edges it by less than 1%. Same frustrations as 2004, where CNN exit polls changed as the evening went on, often swinging by more than the additional number of respondents could likely account for. (Never mind the fact I thought exit polls were supposed to be one-shot affairs).

Michael Jones (MichaelJ), Wednesday, 8 November 2006 02:15 (nineteen years ago)

Cooking up a spaghetti squash with pomodoro sauce from scratch is nicely filling up the time as I wait...

American election coverage is always a disappointment after seeing BBC coverage of the last UK race. Britishes do it with flair.

milo z (mlp), Wednesday, 8 November 2006 02:17 (nineteen years ago)

the VA results aren't meaningful yet - they've only counted half of NoVA

Florida is moving back in our direction, but my Charlie Stuart sleeper pick fails to transpire.

uh you guys, Johnette Napolitano is now governor of Arizona

she's been governor of AZ for 4 years

gabbneb (gabbneb), Wednesday, 8 November 2006 02:17 (nineteen years ago)

No swingometer, no credibility.

Joey, baby - dont get crazy
Detours. fences... I get defensive
I know you've heard it all before -
So I dont say it anymore
I just stand by and watch you
Fight your secret war.
Although I used to wonder why -
I used to cry till I was dry.
Still sometimes I get a strange pain
Inside
Oh, joey, if youre hurting so am i.

Euai Kapaui (tracerhand), Wednesday, 8 November 2006 02:22 (nineteen years ago)

Now here's a defeatist attitude:

Republican Ken Blackwell conceded the race for [Ohio] governor to [Dem. Ted] Strickland before a single vote was counted.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 8 November 2006 02:24 (nineteen years ago)

Ned can we not revel in wide margins? Just say it. "IT'S THE SPITZAAHHHHH"

Euai Kapaui (tracerhand), Wednesday, 8 November 2006 02:25 (nineteen years ago)

Ned can we not revel in wide margins?

Oh, that's all right, then.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 8 November 2006 02:27 (nineteen years ago)

i'm trying not to envision hadassah lieberman with bass guitar and moll-cut

gabbneb (gabbneb), Wednesday, 8 November 2006 02:27 (nineteen years ago)

MSNBC is projecting Cardin over Steele.

Alfred, Lord Sotosyn (Alfred Soto), Wednesday, 8 November 2006 02:28 (nineteen years ago)

Whitehouse called

Northup concedes

gabbneb (gabbneb), Wednesday, 8 November 2006 02:31 (nineteen years ago)

Allen now has a 23,000-vote lead with 78% reporting in VA but, scanning the breakdown, Webb has gains of around 15-17,000 coming his way from some of those northern counties. There are still more that can't be trended yet because they haven't returned a single precinct.

(I am doing this all in my head and my margin of error is fuckin' massive).

Michael Jones (MichaelJ), Wednesday, 8 November 2006 02:32 (nineteen years ago)

Here in Florida Negron and Mahoney are in a dead heat; Klein has a razor-thin lead over Clay Shaw.

Alfred, Lord Sotosyn (Alfred Soto), Wednesday, 8 November 2006 02:32 (nineteen years ago)

my district: Republican leading Dem 51-49, with about half of districts reporting. grr.

bitch i served last night who claimed to be Rep candidate's niece: this isn't over yet.

I'm pretty sure Klein wins. Mahoney will be down to the wire. But it looks like Jennings didn't close the deal in the 13th.

I'm feeling secure on Webb - we're still waiting on half of Arlington and Loudoun and 1/3 of Richmond city.

MD Gov called for O'Malley.

gabbneb (gabbneb), Wednesday, 8 November 2006 02:36 (nineteen years ago)

I hate J.C. Watts so much.

Django Blowhardt (Rock Hardy), Wednesday, 8 November 2006 02:37 (nineteen years ago)

did I misread that Foley was only 1% behind?

Curt1s St3ph3ns, Wednesday, 8 November 2006 02:38 (nineteen years ago)

gear with the JFK references, as always... :)

Alfred, Lord Sotosyn (Alfred Soto), Wednesday, 8 November 2006 02:38 (nineteen years ago)

Foley is a 100% behind.

Alfred, Lord Sotosyn (Alfred Soto), Wednesday, 8 November 2006 02:38 (nineteen years ago)

The teeth-gnashing begins:

Party labels aside, Chafee deserved to lose more than any other incumbent. What a lousy senator, a man who is utterly unpredictable because he has no real beliefs.

Alfred, Lord Sotosyn (Alfred Soto), Wednesday, 8 November 2006 02:39 (nineteen years ago)

YES Biggest Little!!
