I didn't realise but the icloud login screen is where you can create a whole new icloud apple id that's separate from your itunes apple id. Useful for when you've got multiple people sharing one itunes id but need separate icloud ids for doc/contact syncing etc. <-- TYPING THIS gave me a headache.

I have a choice of updating my dumb-phone to an iphone 4S or waiting to get iphone 5 when it's released sometime next year

Boy, getting iCloud/Apple to verify my AppleID is a pain. Still waiting on them to send me an email. Otherwise everything else running smoothly.

I logged into icloud (from the mac) using my itunes apple id. It fartarsed around for a while, said "INCORRECT PASSWORD" in big red letters for a while, then just logged in as though nothing had ever happened.

Yeah, nothing quite so smooth like that. Still gives me a 'resent verification email' option and then of course refuses to actually deliver one.

'Resend' rather. Anyway.

My email came through. iOS 5 never installed for me, mind.

don't currently use an ios device, and i use spotify for my music, so i've had no need for it for a while. i deleted it a while back and didn't have a reason to get a new one until now, when i want to test out icloud stuff

iphone all set up and I'm up to the icloud backup setup screen where it's failing but because the language is still in CHINESE i have no idea what the fuck is going on

so apparently i have an icloud problem that the other 250 million ios users haven't had

mac os x lion is worth the $30. gestures and mission control are key tho: swiping from desktop to full-screen iTunes to dashboard is fundamentally easier than Expose/Spaces. I spend less time on the computer now b/c of it.

I never used Spaces before, so I'm still struggling to figure how to get the most of multiple desktops, etc. - I assume you put iTunes on full-screen as a separate desktop?

I've never understood the point of full-screen apps either. Is it to appease Windows users who are addicted to maximizing every program?
