I know what I said. All we know about Tyrus is the quiet, dismissive way he interacts with Walt and Jesse. Beyond that his character was not developed. And I like that about him!

idg why every character has to be important and charismatic and pivotal and fantastic. Walt Jnr had no crucial part in this season apart from (a) raising the stakes toward the end there and (b) reminding us all where Walt was when all this started in s1. Tyrus was a hired goon, there was never any space for him to become anything more, and the actor did well to play it straight down the line.

btw Walt Jnr will clearly have some involvement in the final season because that's where the stakes need raising – Walt's family, Walt's cancer, the consequences of Walt's actions.

those stakes (save for the cancer the last season or two) have already been pretty high! i mean a hugely powerful crime lord threatened to kill his baby, driving his family into protective custody, how are "the consequences of his actions" or "his family" not in play already??

guys Tyrus doesn't have to be "pivotal" et al nobody's saying that. he could have one line in the whole series and still be an interesting player. instead he's a regular presence who's dead boring.

They're already in play, yes, but there's still loads of room to raise the stakes. The threat to kill his baby could become the actuall killing of his baby, family in protective custody could become family kidnapped by violent drug lords etc.

Remember this show has no sacred cows, so especially in its final season anything is possible.

Also he's compromised. The very fact that he's on the road to walking properly again because his expensive rehab has been exclusively funded with drug money. He's gonna hate that.

Also up there with Walt's bollocking from Saul's secretary was Hector, a senior figure in a Mexican drug cartel, being alternately patronised and told off by his nurse.

Just that angry breathing noise Hector makes is really sinister.

Walt Jr has been clueless from the get go. I hated the episodes when he would turn all his rage at Skyler for leaving Walt. Clueless but also a little willful ignorance. I mean, at age 7 I knew better than to lay all the blame for my parents' divorce at the feet of the parent who actively left. Walt Jr is in freaking high school. Get some shades of gray, kid.

His support for Walter dealing with his "gambling addiction" is heartbreaking. It would be heartbreaking if it were just the story of a kid coping with a parent's addiction but it's double heartbreaking here.

I like that Jr is kind of dopey. It's better than being a shrewd smart talking TV teen.
