Tyrus not handing Jesse the phone justifies all cardboradness in other appearances alone

I don't get these Tyrus complaints at all.

know what we don't know anything about? the next level(s) down from gus in this massive operation -- someone is expecting a shipment. someone expects to continue raking in meth money, and someone isn't going to be able to do that, so someone is going to be kinda mad. everyone who works for him is going to be mad.
who are these people? what are they going to do? this could also be part of season 5 but who knows.
― Art Arfons (La Lechera), Tuesday, 11 October 2011 23:40 (fourteen years ago)
I don't get people who are trying to make out he was a great character cos he had one mildly amusing line. He served his purpose.
― Number None, Tuesday, 11 October 2011 23:40 (fourteen years ago)
whoever said he looked more like a madonna backup dancer than a thug was otm, his eye rolling routine was p lol tho imho

he was an entertaining supporting character. i may be overstating it, but the idea that the writers "didn't develop his character enough" or wtv is just silly to me
― the jazz zinger (s1ocki), Tuesday, 11 October 2011 23:45 (fourteen years ago)
No one actually said the thing you're quoting.
― polyphonic, Tuesday, 11 October 2011 23:48 (fourteen years ago)
well i said "or wtv" so i wasn't ACTUALLY quoting
― the jazz zinger (s1ocki), Tuesday, 11 October 2011 23:50 (fourteen years ago)
and tbf you YOURSELF said "The writers didn't develop that character at all" which is even worse
― the jazz zinger (s1ocki), Tuesday, 11 October 2011 23:52 (fourteen years ago)
hoping season 5 has a huell deliver a humorous monologue about crackheads and thanksgiving
― LaMonte, Tuesday, 11 October 2011 23:55 (fourteen years ago)
I know what I said. All we know about Tyrus is the quiet, dismissive way he interacts with Walt and Jesse. Beyond that his character was not developed. And I like that about him!
― polyphonic, Wednesday, 12 October 2011 00:02 (fourteen years ago)

idg why every character has to be important and charismatic and pivotal and fantastic. Walt Jnr had no crucial part in this season apart from (a) raising the stakes toward the end there and (b) reminding us all where Walt was when all this started in s1. Tyrus was a hired goon, there was never any space for him to become anything more, and the actor did well to play it straight down the line.
― Autumn Almanac (Schlafsack), Wednesday, 12 October 2011 00:26 (fourteen years ago)
btw Walt Jnr will clearly have some involvement in the final season because that's where the stakes need raising – Walt's family, Walt's cancer, the consequences of Walt's actions.
― Autumn Almanac (Schlafsack), Wednesday, 12 October 2011 00:27 (fourteen years ago)
those stakes (save for the cancer the last season or two) have already been pretty high! i mean a hugely powerful crime lord threatened to kill his baby, driving his family into protective custody, how are "the consequences of his actions" or "his family" not in play already??
― the jazz zinger (s1ocki), Wednesday, 12 October 2011 00:29 (fourteen years ago)
guys Tyrus doesn't have to be "pivotal" et al nobody's saying that. he could have one line in the whole series and still be an interesting player. instead he's a regular presence who's dead boring.

They're already in play, yes, but there's still loads of room to raise the stakes. The threat to kill his baby could become the actuall killing of his baby, family in protective custody could become family kidnapped by violent drug lords etc.
― Autumn Almanac (Schlafsack), Wednesday, 12 October 2011 00:39 (fourteen years ago)
Remember this show has no sacred cows, so especially in its final season anything is possible.

Fits with the simple yet cold presence of Gus's security cameras imo. Just another way of demonstrating that Gus was everywhere all the time.

Season 5 will be entirely about Walt Jr. studying for his SATs and applying to college. Walt will accept nothing less than Caltech - NOTHING! - and will do everything in his power to ensure his son gets in.

really hope this show doesn't turn into some WALT Vs. THE DEA/HANK AS THE "GOOD GUY" thing... would be pretty lame
Also he's compromised. The very fact that he's on the road to walking properly again because his expensive rehab has been exclusively funded with drug money. He's gonna hate that.
― Matt DC, Wednesday, 12 October 2011 09:55 (fourteen years ago)
Also up there with Walt's bollocking from Saul's secretary was Hector, a senior figure in a Mexican drug cartel, being alternately patronised and told off by his nurse.
Just that angry breathing noise Hector makes is really sinister.

I wonder what would be a more fitting end to the series, Walt dead or Walt paralyzed in a wheelchair like Hector, abandoned by his family, futilely tapping away at a bell but with nobody to help him kill himself.
