holy shit those buses!!!!
Yeah, no kidding. I was listening to this lady tell another guy at the bus stop her bus horror stories and expecting to get this "OMG" reaction. Little did she seem to understand that both the dude and myself had horror stories of our own.

It's all melting away!

That drizzle sure is a potent snow removal device!
― kate78, Monday, 29 December 2008 23:13 (seventeen years ago)
well, having it be above freezing at night for once helps too
― soyrizo headache (Mackro Mackro), Monday, 29 December 2008 23:29 (seventeen years ago)
You know, thanks to all of this, I now know what cabin fever feels like. I didn't really suffer it, but I was *just* about to.
damn there is still so much snow in Everett right now way more than Lynnwood
― The Reverend, Thursday, 1 January 2009 11:11 (seventeen years ago)
Doh, I totally lost those original images that I created this thread with. I still have this one, can't remember if it's from that storm or not:

I hear that Nichols is now saying that they'll use salt in future massive snowmageddons. At least they finally learned ;-)
― lyra, Thursday, 1 January 2009 17:47 (seventeen years ago)
there's a good layer of snow in bellevue right now

― miss precious perfect (musically), Monday, 5 January 2009 03:21 (seventeen years ago)
There's a good layer of snow in Lynnwood right now. Really coming down. Not even all the old snow had quite melted away. This fucking winter.
― The Reverend, Monday, 5 January 2009 03:43 (seventeen years ago)
i can't believe this winter wonderland bullshit AGAIN

Fremont got horizontal freezing rain which quickly turned to rain. It's supposed to be 40s tomorrow so all of today's stuff will melt if not already.
Spokane is getting another 6-8 inches of snow. It is really a snowpocalypse on Eastern WA

"oh but the Coast'ers always get the wet weather, while it's nice sunny and dry here!". Oops
― 909090909 Rivethed Brikkchin Reverk now DANZ (Mackro Mackro), Monday, 5 January 2009 09:18 (seventeen years ago)
Thirdly, LYRA! How is NJ treating you? It's been so long!
― 909090909 Rivethed Brikkchin Reverk now DANZ (Mackro Mackro), Monday, 5 January 2009 09:19 (seventeen years ago)
I got fooled by this the first winter I was here. It was sunny and dry, relatively speaking. Last year was bad, but I was told it was an exception. This year is just killing me.
I grew up in remote-ass upper Michigan where we got over 200 inches a year on average, but I thought I moved away from that. Eastern WA has none of the infrastructure, mindset, or outdoor activities necessary for me to put up with this kind of insanity.

I redact the Fremont statement. I woke up to snow and slush this morning.
― 909090909 Rivethed Brikkchin Reverk now DANZ (Mackro Mackro), Monday, 5 January 2009 16:13 (seventeen years ago)
Joygoat, are you doing ok? I assume you are ok enough to post here, but thought I'd ask

He's okay until he starts threatening people with bicycle chainrings that are NO GOOD IN THIS WEATHER.
― One Community Service Mummy, hold the Straightedge Merman (Laurel), Monday, 5 January 2009 16:18 (seventeen years ago)
Hi, Seattle! Did everyone have to walk to work again today?
Not me. My bus actually arrived on time and wasn't as packed as normal.
Yesterday was a lot of wet, heavy snow i.e. most of it was off the roads in hours.
December was below freezing during most of the snow, so those were the walkin' days.
― 909090909 Rivethed Brikkchin Reverk now DANZ (Mackro Mackro), Monday, 5 January 2009 16:39 (seventeen years ago)
Oh yeah, it's totally fine. Sounding dire and insane about winter weather is kind of par for the course for me. Shoveling the 12" of snow this morning was kind of fun in a crazy "I can't believe I have to do this" way.
It's kind of post-apocalypsey outside right now. You're not supposed to see snowplows stuck on the side of the road. Thank you AWD Subaru, and to think we thought about selling you because we didn't need 4 wheel drive out here.
― a better command of the mummy language (joygoat), Monday, 5 January 2009 18:27 (seventeen years ago)
haha, well I hate to say this, knowing fully about the pain being suffered in Spokane, but the pictures I've seen make the place look like heaven. Mainly the trees.

is there still snow on the ground in other places? when i woke up this morning there was just a bit of slush on the sides of the street, that's it.
― miss precious perfect (musically), Monday, 5 January 2009 19:04 (seventeen years ago)
There is here, but I'm a few miles inland and we never completely got rid of the last bunch.
― Jedi Mind Trick Daddy (The Reverend), Monday, 5 January 2009 19:10 (seventeen years ago)
I have gotten stuck on Orcas overnight cause I missed the last ferry haha.OMG, you lucky bum. I love Orcas. But that ferry ride on a Sunday afternoon in the summer is obnoxious... I was out there in August, we waited through like 3 ferries before we caught one back. I still can't believe all the snowmageddon stories and photos. Who knew it was possible for seattle to get more than a half inch of snow?
HELLO ILX I MISSED YOU. NJ has been kicking my ass, fuck suburbs. At least I get to into NYC every day for work, some consolation. :P
― lyra, Tuesday, 6 January 2009 00:46 (seventeen years ago)

i took the bus this morning and it was on time. slush was everywhere today, but nothing icy.

there's snow but it was only a dusting here and it's 34 degrees here and getting warmer, so I'm not too concerned yet

Yeah we got some pretty snowy action last night!I was at this dude's apartment in Belltown and it was really pretty outside when you looked at the light where it was falling. An inconsequential snow, but still pretty.
