Just wait until Walt gets chased down by a polar bear. I know, in New Mexico!? WTF, right?

treating like a bitch over a drug deal is fine because hes not going to go running to daddy - but if you murder him its another story

In the flashback episode with Tio and the cousins last season, Tio called him "generalissimo" or something, on the phone.

Giancarlo Esposito mentioned this in the avclub interview about Fring's past:
There are still many unanswered questions, and some of the clues to that are Don Eladio [the cartel kingpin], who says, “I know who you are,” and the whole reason they can’t take him out is the whole reference to him being part of the Chilean Pinochet Government.

― pullapartsquirrel (Jenny), Friday, 7 October 2011 14:52 (fourteen years ago)
Eh, but in contemporary (show) context, Gus' past has little to no bearing, let alone if he was part of the Pinochet regime. Though even in the context of the era flashed back to, why would the head of a Mexican drug cartel have issues with taking out a fringe member of the Pinochet regime?

Well, I mean Fring is a German last name... Gus is probably... descended from Nazis. Nazi crank.

Fuck bathtubs, man. Bathtubs are for poor white trash. Walt is going to start cooking meth in the swimming pool.

The teaser is like, "Ok, so what is the first sentence Walt speaks?" Nothing really happens in that clip. As I had been warned.
― DSMOS has arrived (kenan), Friday, 7 October 2011 20:12 (fourteen years ago)
Revisiting the last three or four episodes, I think mt favorite senteces that Walter speaks are when he's on the floor, and Jesse has a gun to him, and he explains what Gus is doing, and says, "Think about it! It's BRILLIANT!"
Props where they're due.
― DSMOS has arrived (kenan), Saturday, 8 October 2011 03:57 (fourteen years ago)
how about the little barrel circle mark in walt's forehead? i really dug that.
― loads of personality, loved to chase chickens (forksclovetofu), Saturday, 8 October 2011 04:07 (fourteen years ago)
i saw that barrel mark and just thought "wow, that's commitment"
― Clay, Saturday, 8 October 2011 04:09 (fourteen years ago)
I love the way that at beginning of the back and forth over Jesse, I thought Walt and Gus were both trying to use him as a pawn. It obvious now that he can be used as a knight, and Gus knew it long before Walt did. Think about it. It's brilliant!
I seriously doubt we're going to see any dead Gus on Sunday.
― DSMOS has arrived (kenan), Saturday, 8 October 2011 04:25 (fourteen years ago)
Not after (from Jenny's link): "On March 21, 1990 members of the leftist guerrilla group, the Manuel Rodríguez Patriotic Front, broke into Leigh's office and opened fire at him. Five bullets hit his body. Other than the loss of an eye, he was able to make a complete recovery." No Gus is doomed to live a long unhappy life, just like Hector. He will wind up at the end being able to do nothing but twist his face in a drooling rictus of hate. Walt will win the battles, but he won't kill Gus. That said, it is imperative to the moral core of the series that Walt, through actions he set in motion but can't see coming, kills himself.
― DSMOS has arrived (kenan), Saturday, 8 October 2011 04:38 (fourteen years ago)
Or at least suffers some sort of ironic humiliation, Henry Hill-style. But I think that's far too good for Walt. No, he has to die, and is has to be done tasty. (To appropriate Cronenberg.)
― DSMOS has arrived (kenan), Saturday, 8 October 2011 04:49 (fourteen years ago)
And by the way, the constantly looming henchman who has replaced Victor, the dude who tazed Walt, is a bad bit of casting, IMO. He can't stop looking like one of Madonna's backup dancers, no matter what he does.
