what if he is augusto jr and not gustavo?

Art Arfons (La Lechera), Thursday, 6 October 2011 13:15 (fourteen years ago)

Maybe he is Hitler's grandson.

Matt DC, Thursday, 6 October 2011 13:19 (fourteen years ago)

What if Mike is the reincarnation of Copernicus?

Art Arfons (La Lechera), Thursday, 6 October 2011 13:22 (fourteen years ago)

I can get on board with the copernicus-hitler theory but gus having military/high status/seriously terrifying organised crime connections doesn't seem to jive with the don pushing him around and generally treating him like a bitch I may have missed something

I'm pretty confident that

a) Gus will die.
b) next season's "big bad" will be when Walt discovers the reasons why not even the cartel was willing to shoot him. IE, his backers.

sean gramophone, Thursday, 6 October 2011 16:07 (fourteen years ago)

In the next season, Walt takes on Germany.

Dunno, in the cause-for-retribution stakes, treating someone like a bitch is a bit different to shooting them in the head and dumping their body in the desert.

Matt DC, Thursday, 6 October 2011 16:28 (fourteen years ago)

Aye but he just seemed to talk to him in such a contemptuous way. Like if Gus was backed by some serious people then why would he fuck with him so much. I think it's more likely that 'I know who you are' is more 'I know you're a pussy and can't harm me' than anything else. Which was obviously wrong in the long run.

But as I said I hadn't actually picked up on any of this military stuff so I may not be paying enough attention!

peligro, Thursday, 6 October 2011 16:32 (fourteen years ago)

could be gus is connected to some high government (like people have said military) official - in which case treating like a bitch over a drug deal is fine because hes not going to go running to daddy - but if you murder him its another story

ice cr?m, Thursday, 6 October 2011 16:41 (fourteen years ago)

somehow connected to the german conglomerate too fer sure

ice cr?m, Thursday, 6 October 2011 16:42 (fourteen years ago)

Gus could be an angel/god. Or at least the terminator.

Jeff, Thursday, 6 October 2011 16:43 (fourteen years ago)

yeah prob

ice cr?m, Thursday, 6 October 2011 16:49 (fourteen years ago)

Gus, Jesse, Mike, Tyrus are all in Walt's head. He really made that money by counting cards.

pullapartsquirrel (Jenny), Thursday, 6 October 2011 16:50 (fourteen years ago)

This entire show has been told in flashback from the afterlife.

Josh in Chicago, Thursday, 6 October 2011 16:54 (fourteen years ago)

Gus is Walts father.

Inevitable stupid samba mix (chap), Thursday, 6 October 2011 17:00 (fourteen years ago)

ice cr?m, Thursday, 6 October 2011 17:08 (fourteen years ago)

Walt is on meth and hallucinating the whole thing.

Josh in Chicago, Thursday, 6 October 2011 17:12 (fourteen years ago)

Augusto Pinochet is Walt Jr's spirit animal

Art Arfons (La Lechera), Thursday, 6 October 2011 17:12 (fourteen years ago)

The whole thing is an elaborate ruse from death's perspective a la Final Destination. Walk cheated death and now he must pay.

Josh in Chicago, Thursday, 6 October 2011 17:13 (fourteen years ago)

Walt.

Josh in Chicago, Thursday, 6 October 2011 17:13 (fourteen years ago)

I almost want all of these to happen. To watch the Internet explode.

Jeff, Thursday, 6 October 2011 17:14 (fourteen years ago)

Just wait until Walt gets chased down by a polar bear. I know, in New Mexico!? WTF, right?

Josh in Chicago, Thursday, 6 October 2011 17:18 (fourteen years ago)

treating like a bitch over a drug deal is fine because hes not going to go running to daddy - but if you murder him its another story

if you murder him he'll go running to daddy - this is scary

i don't remember anything about gus having some hinted to military past.

In the flashback episode with Tio and the cousins last season, Tio called him "generalissimo" or something, on the phone.

Giancarlo Esposito mentioned this in the avclub interview about Fring's past:

There are still many unanswered questions, and some of the clues to that are Don Eladio [the cartel kingpin], who says, “I know who you are,” and the whole reason they can’t take him out is the whole reference to him being part of the Chilean Pinochet Government.

Western® with Bacon Flavor, Friday, 7 October 2011 14:48 (fourteen years ago)

welp

ice cr?m, Friday, 7 October 2011 14:50 (fourteen years ago)

I get "Erotic City" stuck in my head a lot while watching Breaking Bad ("All my purple life...").

pullapartsquirrel (Jenny), Friday, 7 October 2011 14:52 (fourteen years ago)

Eh, but in contemporary (show) context, Gus' past has little to no bearing, let alone if he was part of the Pinochet regime. Though even in the context of the era flashed back to, why would the head of a Mexican drug cartel have issues with taking out a fringe member of the Pinochet regime?

Josh in Chicago, Friday, 7 October 2011 15:19 (fourteen years ago)

There are still many unanswered questions

TracerHandVEVO (Tracer Hand), Friday, 7 October 2011 15:22 (fourteen years ago)

BIG HOOS aka the steendriver, Friday, 7 October 2011 15:58 (fourteen years ago)

Well, I mean Fring is a German last name... Gus is probably... descended from Nazis. Nazi crank.

fields of salmon, Friday, 7 October 2011 15:59 (fourteen years ago)

your mom was a member of the pinochet regime

conrad, Friday, 7 October 2011 15:59 (fourteen years ago)
