is bostock crap or just the latest redknapp vendetta case

diouf est le papa du foot galsen merde lè haters (nakhchivan), Wednesday, 5 October 2011 14:38 (fourteen years ago)

he can't be on the europa league b squad because he has spent so much time on loan. scored a penalty in a friendly versus orient the other day, but i think he might be crap.

mizzell, Wednesday, 5 October 2011 14:43 (fourteen years ago)

still only 19, though

mizzell, Wednesday, 5 October 2011 14:48 (fourteen years ago)

he's kinda got no real position afaict, but i wouldn't be too quick to judge tbh, he's better than jenas, like

always remember, there's no 'i zing' team (darraghmac), Wednesday, 5 October 2011 14:48 (fourteen years ago)

that's a pretty large bracket

Number None, Wednesday, 5 October 2011 14:50 (fourteen years ago)

has redknapp ever done shit for ver kids save for that brief period of shuffling juhmain and lamps w/ various slavic psychos at west ham back in the day

walker established his epl quality last season, bale was fucked around for ages til ekotto got injured

diouf est le papa du foot galsen merde lè haters (nakhchivan), Wednesday, 5 October 2011 14:53 (fourteen years ago)

i had Bostock on loan in a FM game a couple of years ago, he was crap then

Dios mio! This kid is FUN to hit! (Noodle Vague), Wednesday, 5 October 2011 14:54 (fourteen years ago)

iirc there was a thread for hyperbolic quotes about villa players?

sonderangerbot, Wednesday, 5 October 2011 14:55 (fourteen years ago)

don't see how bale was fucked around, he lost his place cause he wasn't playing well and then earned it back with his performances. he wasn't quite a kid, but redknapp did a good job of slowly bringing sandro into the team.

mizzell, Wednesday, 5 October 2011 15:06 (fourteen years ago)

sandro had already played for brazil

bale was constrained by redknapps inane insistence upon making him into a lb

diouf est le papa du foot galsen merde lè haters (nakhchivan), Wednesday, 5 October 2011 15:09 (fourteen years ago)

he always was a lb, did he ever play in midfield before redknapp put him there?

mizzell, Wednesday, 5 October 2011 15:10 (fourteen years ago)

Townsend looked very good indeed against Shamrock Rovers, but then that's against Shamrock Rovers. I wonder if he's ashamed at being called 'Andy Townsend'.

Norwich look alright actually, albeit in an escape-on-the-last-day-of-the-season way.

Matt DC, Wednesday, 5 October 2011 15:15 (fourteen years ago)

norwich look down down down tbh

Redknapp doesn't look bothered about the youff at spurs tbh, if they don't get in through injuries in the squad they won't get in. If they prove themselves that way they've got a chance. Otherwise it's interminable loans.

Bale was always considered a left back, but tbf this was always blatant stupidity.

always remember, there's no 'i zing' team (darraghmac), Wednesday, 5 October 2011 15:39 (fourteen years ago)

Bolton look down down down too. Blackburn even more downs. Who else? Swansea look like a team you're sad when they get relegated with two games left.

Ismael Klata, Wednesday, 5 October 2011 15:45 (fourteen years ago)

swansea look like they'll be ok tbh.

Relegated this year look like:

Norwich
Blackburn
Utd (when rooney returns to form)

always remember, there's no 'i zing' team (darraghmac), Wednesday, 5 October 2011 15:47 (fourteen years ago)

Wigan?

Chris, Wednesday, 5 October 2011 16:37 (fourteen years ago)

i don't think so, i feel the absence of rooney will stand to them throughout the season

always remember, there's no 'i zing' team (darraghmac), Wednesday, 5 October 2011 16:39 (fourteen years ago)

arsenal to win the league
everton win fair play award

Gary Numan, or Gary Fletcher (ken c), Wednesday, 5 October 2011 16:47 (fourteen years ago)

swansea look like they'll be ok tbh.

Relegated this year look like:

Norwich
Blackburn

Nah Swansea "actually play really good attacking football" which means "will get smashed a load of times and then go down", like Blackpool last year, like West Brom a few seasons back etc etc.

Norwich at least look like they can make things awkward for people, but yeah they may not be good enough at it to beat the drop. Wigan have to go down at some point.

I'm assuming Blackburn will sack Kean within the fortnight and it depends who they replace him with, but tbh when you're flying your relegation-threatened team to play a friendly in India in the middle of the season you deserve to go down.

Matt DC, Wednesday, 5 October 2011 17:07 (fourteen years ago)

I had QPR down early doors to finish bottom, but they literally look like a whole new team now, the 6-0 notwithstanding.

Ismael Klata, Wednesday, 5 October 2011 17:19 (fourteen years ago)

Swansea got thrashed by City and Chelsea when they tried to attack, lost to Arsenal on a freak goal, and have kept clean sheets in the other four matches. I think they'll stay up and could be closer to 10th than 20th if they find a goalscorer.

boxall, Wednesday, 5 October 2011 17:23 (fourteen years ago)

West Brom are looking like they could challenge for relegation, Sunderland clearly have issues, we'll be right there in the mix if McCarthy's still there come May.

Dios mio! This kid is FUN to hit! (Noodle Vague), Wednesday, 5 October 2011 17:31 (fourteen years ago)

qpr could come 7th or 17th, there's not really that much in it either way

same goes for everyone else

r|t|c, Wednesday, 5 October 2011 18:04 (fourteen years ago)

true tbh

Dios mio! This kid is FUN to hit! (Noodle Vague), Wednesday, 5 October 2011 18:04 (fourteen years ago)

Been keeping an eye on the West Brom message boards over the last few weeks to see what they think of Hodgson (obsessed? me?) and it's the exact same comments and complaints that we had with him last season. Should keep them up, what with his 36 years of experience, but wouldn't be surprised if his contract isn't renewed.

Chris, Wednesday, 5 October 2011 18:06 (fourteen years ago)

wonder if they're not all liverpool fans tbh

always remember, there's no 'i zing' team (darraghmac), Wednesday, 5 October 2011 18:07 (fourteen years ago)

they're on to me

Chris, Wednesday, 5 October 2011 18:09 (fourteen years ago)

saying that though i will feel pretty scandalised if wigan don't go down this year

agree blackburn's next manager if decent and installed promptly could keep them up with ease, but that's two big ifs innit

r|t|c, Wednesday, 5 October 2011 18:10 (fourteen years ago)

there's a good strong pool of contenders for relegation tbh. Stoke arsenal everton villa and fulham should all be ok, take out the top four and liverpool and the rest are gonna be in there

always remember, there's no 'i zing' team (darraghmac), Wednesday, 5 October 2011 18:13 (fourteen years ago)

newcastle look ok too

always remember, there's no 'i zing' team (darraghmac), Wednesday, 5 October 2011 18:15 (fourteen years ago)

Martinez turning down Villa will look insane if Wigan do go down. Looks pretty strange already.

Ismael Klata, Wednesday, 5 October 2011 18:15 (fourteen years ago)

You know who'd be ideal for Blackburn? Big Sam.

Fortunately, the stars appear to be aligning for Shearer's second crack at The Big Time.

Ismael Klata, Wednesday, 5 October 2011 18:18 (fourteen years ago)

i wonder if 40 yr olds feel about bryan robson the way 30 yr olds will end up feeling about keane, shearer

at-zing-two-boards (darraghmac), Wednesday, 5 October 2011 21:40 (fourteen years ago)

Robson was always over-rated shit, guess Shearer wasn't over-rated while he was playing

That's the game I think where there's a pitch invasion at the end and Robson gets mobbed by a load of scallies (or whatever the mancunian equivalent is), and it's an astonishing moment of cognitive dissonance because he's the same size as them. You get used to seeing the likes of Drogba towering over mere mortals; Robson became a colossus just by doing amazing things.

Ismael Klata, Wednesday, 5 October 2011 22:42 (fourteen years ago)

that doesn't make a whole lot of sense

Number None, Thursday, 6 October 2011 00:31 (fourteen years ago)

Robson was terrible for England, a workmanlike nothing who apparently got capped for running around a lot, and dragged that England team into the same workmanlike tedium as him, a non-triumph of effort under ability.

Dios mio! This kid is FUN to hit! (Noodle Vague), Thursday, 6 October 2011 06:30 (fourteen years ago)

ever thus tbf

at-zing-two-boards (darraghmac), Thursday, 6 October 2011 06:38 (fourteen years ago)

RIP Glenn Hoddle.

Matt DC, Thursday, 6 October 2011 08:54 (fourteen years ago)

Hoddle kinda marginalized for a lot of his England career so they could fit more Robson-esque carthorses in

Dios mio! This kid is FUN to hit! (Noodle Vague), Thursday, 6 October 2011 08:57 (fourteen years ago)

still, lesson well learned in time for le-tiss

at-zing-two-boards (darraghmac), Thursday, 6 October 2011 08:59 (fourteen years ago)

Nyaaaaaa.....England, Schmengland.

Mister Potato shares Manchester United’s commitment to (Nasty, Brutish & Short), Thursday, 6 October 2011 09:41 (fourteen years ago)

well, in time for scholes at least

at-zing-two-boards (darraghmac), Thursday, 6 October 2011 09:45 (fourteen years ago)

well, ok, surely with thudd.....

at-zing-two-boards (darraghmac), Thursday, 6 October 2011 09:48 (fourteen years ago)

I'm assuming Blackburn will sack Kean within the fortnight and it depends who they replace him with

It'd have to be a Scotsman, to keep up the quota.

Juice Should Be Sterliized (Tom D.), Thursday, 6 October 2011 09:50 (fourteen years ago)

forgot Robson's glorious Man U career during the 80s that saw them 4 times division 1 winners and a couple of European Cup wins too.

Dios mio! This kid is FUN to hit! (Noodle Vague), Thursday, 6 October 2011 10:46 (fourteen years ago)

or maybe he just scored a goal once

Dios mio! This kid is FUN to hit! (Noodle Vague), Thursday, 6 October 2011 10:47 (fourteen years ago)

RIP Wayne Rooney's dad.

James Mitchell, Thursday, 6 October 2011 11:46 (fourteen years ago)

Quite, and don't forget about Wayne's uncle Ritchie RIP
