maybe tyrus didn't know the kid was poisoned but maybe he did ring jesse like where are you supposed to be at work and he said in the hospital
― conrad, Tuesday, 4 October 2011 15:47 (fourteen years ago)
bitch
ha ha
― Josh in Chicago, Tuesday, 4 October 2011 15:48 (fourteen years ago)
But see, Jesse was there a while. Then he falls asleep at night. Then he wakes up to Tyrus poking him. If Tyrus had tailed him, was he just waiting outside the whole night? Very odd he could find Jesse in this hospital. Hospitals are big!
― Josh in Chicago, Tuesday, 4 October 2011 15:50 (fourteen years ago)
a bit fishy
― conrad, Tuesday, 4 October 2011 15:51 (fourteen years ago)
he was like "where's jesse" to a nurse and she told him
― lol-qaeda (am0n), Tuesday, 4 October 2011 15:51 (fourteen years ago)
maybe saul's goon planted some sort of tracking device on him
― sonderangerbot, Tuesday, 4 October 2011 15:52 (fourteen years ago)
If Tyrus had tailed him, was he just waiting outside the whole night?
Yep.
― TracerHandVEVO (Tracer Hand), Tuesday, 4 October 2011 15:52 (fourteen years ago)
unless he called him earlier while they were off camera and it woke jesse up and jesse told him or maybe it was the night before or maybe there's a tracking device on jesse's car I suppose
― conrad, Tuesday, 4 October 2011 15:54 (fourteen years ago)
What do you think guys like Tyrus and Mike do? 90% of their job is waiting around. Jesse is the key to the entire operation right now.
― TracerHandVEVO (Tracer Hand), Tuesday, 4 October 2011 15:55 (fourteen years ago)
I mean, does Tyrus have somewhere more important to be??
at this stage we do not know
― conrad, Tuesday, 4 October 2011 15:58 (fourteen years ago)
maybe tyrus is gus's boss
Tyrus is an LA serial killer, iirc.
― Josh in Chicago, Tuesday, 4 October 2011 16:02 (fourteen years ago)
gus and tyrus are married
― lol-qaeda (am0n), Tuesday, 4 October 2011 16:05 (fourteen years ago)
and tyrus is the boss
― conrad, Tuesday, 4 October 2011 16:06 (fourteen years ago)
holly told him
― ice cr?m, Tuesday, 4 October 2011 16:08 (fourteen years ago)
Who? Oh, you mean Walt's dog?
― Josh in Chicago, Tuesday, 4 October 2011 16:10 (fourteen years ago)
Josh how did you feel about the use of the baby in this episode? I've been curious.
― pullapartsquirrel (Jenny), Tuesday, 4 October 2011 16:19 (fourteen years ago)
Baby Holly has an excellent collection of cute hats.
― Matt DC, Tuesday, 4 October 2011 16:23 (fourteen years ago)
Apologies is if this has already been speculated, but isn't it possible that Jesse just fucked up w/ replacing the ricin butt and the kid hasn't actually been poisoned at all? That Jesse is having a (justifiably) paranoid breakdown? Do we have any confirmation from the hospital that he has really been poisoned? Seems the only dignified way out of this for the writers—Gus and Walt would both suspect the other of poisoning the kid....
― Hadrian VIII, Tuesday, 4 October 2011 16:51 (fourteen years ago)
I think that's totally plausible.
― Fig On A Plate Cart (Alex in SF), Tuesday, 4 October 2011 16:52 (fourteen years ago)
yeah me too except if the mum told the docs that maybe it was ricin they'd check and see it wasn't and then she'd not glower at jesse I suppose *except* if the glower if purely because he maybe has put her son at risk in any way even in a way that she doesn't actually know anything about
― conrad, Tuesday, 4 October 2011 16:55 (fourteen years ago)
Yeah he probably had a brain fart and the cigarette pack with the ricin is actually in his other jacket.
Also, if you tell doctors that you think someone has been poisoned with ricin, and they have symptoms that line up with that, they're going to call the police!

maybe tyrus is a cop and that's how he knew jesse was at the hospital - they called him!

― lol-qaeda (am0n), Tuesday, 4 October 2011 17:43 (fourteen years ago)
Pretty sure Matt is otm and the entire purpose of the episode was to put Jesse into the same wacked-out paranoid state that Walt is in.
― kinder, Tuesday, 4 October 2011 18:14 (fourteen years ago)
xpost I did notice that for two episodes in a row they showed the baby out of the car seat! From little things big things grow ...
Though I admit for a second during the slow pan through Walt's condo I thought all the mess by the sink was drying baby bottles in a rack. And not, you know, ingredients for an IED.

Gus is on the hospital board so
― Autumn Almanac, Wednesday, 5 October 2011 06:17 (fourteen years ago)
i rewatched the jesse scenes to see about the cigarette
When Jesse walks to his car, when he takes out his keys, something falls out of his pocket but it disappears before it hits the ground. Probably a production error.
When Jesse gets frisked, the bodyguard is focused on his pockets and puts something in his own pocket immediately afterwards.
― anorange (abanana), Wednesday, 5 October 2011 12:50 (fourteen years ago)
maybe his hand
― conrad, Wednesday, 5 October 2011 13:12 (fourteen years ago)
They certainly seem to have put in enough clues to make you think Walt is potentially behind at least. The frisking, along with the gun pointing to the plant and Walt's "waaaitaminute" expression
― Number None, Wednesday, 5 October 2011 13:14 (fourteen years ago)
was that a ricin plant
― conrad, Wednesday, 5 October 2011 13:16 (fourteen years ago)
it was a... castor oil plant!

That spin-the-gun thing...wasn't it just an echo of Skylar's Four Corners cointoss?
or xpost maybe it gave him the idea to build a bomb? Plant...fertilizer...diesel fuel...kaboom!
― Race Against Rockism (Myonga Vön Bontee), Wednesday, 5 October 2011 13:48 (fourteen years ago)
I thought he was spinning it like a roulette wheel but disliking the results every time it pointed to him. So he kept spinning it until it pointed somewhere else. Because for all his bravado, Walt is kind of cowardly.
― Josh in Chicago, Wednesday, 5 October 2011 14:01 (fourteen years ago)
I read the gun-spinning thing as Walt toying with the idea of suicide, especially if his cancer is coming back. And like Sky, he keeps spinning til he gets the "answer" he wants.
xpost Yep
― TracerHandVEVO (Tracer Hand), Wednesday, 5 October 2011 14:03 (fourteen years ago)
that's exactly how i read it too, like he at least wanted to fool himself that suicide was an option
― sonderangerbot, Wednesday, 5 October 2011 14:03 (fourteen years ago)
yeah but the camera move to what the gun was pointing at - the ricin plant - was significant no
― conrad, Wednesday, 5 October 2011 14:07 (fourteen years ago)
Maybe Walt can get a new job at a ricin plant!
― Josh in Chicago, Wednesday, 5 October 2011 14:08 (fourteen years ago)
or a cigarette factory
― conrad, Wednesday, 5 October 2011 14:09 (fourteen years ago)
No. Even if there were such a thing as a "ricin plant" it's not like anybody watching the show knows that that looks like!
― TracerHandVEVO (Tracer Hand), Wednesday, 5 October 2011 14:23 (fourteen years ago)
