today i've been getting in my "people you may know" about a half dozen different girls who i have no mutual friends with, all have "hawt/sexxy" profile pics and according to the "works at" part of their info, are cocktail waitresses at different ritzy las vegas night clubs....

is this some kind of marketing campaign that gets around the fact that i block all ads on facebook?

i was tagged in a few photos taken in a vegas club and uploaded by a friend.

that friend has a friend who was probably tagged at least once in the same album and is the GM of a restaurant/bar inside a vegas casino.

is that all it takes?

They probably looked at the photos, maybe more than once.

Just received a warning when trying to click on a link to a blog by a respected company (it's legit), and now I have to download MacAffee's SiteAdvisor plug-in if I want to follow the link from Facebook. Otherwise, no go.

first they get you to friend fake profiles. pretty soon more and more of your friends are fake profiles. then you notice you haven't talked to your real friends in awhile. then you're a fake profile. then they start recommending you to new ppl.

when you click on guardian articles from facebook, it forces you to sign up for the guardian's facebook app

sometimes I get captcha's when trying to post youtube stuff. :/

Fake sexxy women profiles exist to get to a certain number of contacts, then they mass message everyone a URL to their webcam site

I've definitely been hit by fake profiles before - I see that they're mutual friends with some people I know, accept, and then they start tagging me in product advertisement posts. in between the product advertisement posts, they post youtubes of random music videos, to keep the sheepskin on.

I don't accept friends-of-friends who add me if I don't know them!

does it make you think less of your friends who added them before they were even friends of friends? like obviously they were like, "wow, hot fake body" and clicked add and now you reap misfortune bc of their horniness

i always like taking a few second too lol at the lineup of 14 to 15 dudes in the "girl's" friends list before i click ignore/block
