e720 stuff was good, the rest wasn't too good I thought.

WARS OF ARMAGEDDON (Karaoke Version) (Sparkle Motion), Saturday, 1 October 2011 05:26 (fourteen years ago)

I liked April sitting up straight when Tammy 1 came in

kinder, Saturday, 1 October 2011 05:37 (fourteen years ago)

the non-mustachio ron-being-a-weirdo bit was also hilare

yuoowemeone, Saturday, 1 October 2011 05:58 (fourteen years ago)

hey Jerr, humpday amirite??

yuoowemeone, Saturday, 1 October 2011 07:10 (fourteen years ago)

"i'm being audited by the IRS" "no, your worst nightmare!" was such a clumsy attempt at a joke because that's everybody's worst nightmare, not just the crazy libertarian guy who hates the government meddling in his life

some dude, Saturday, 1 October 2011 20:58 (fourteen years ago)

there was an uncharacteristic amount of clumsiness in this ep.

WARS OF ARMAGEDDON (Karaoke Version) (Sparkle Motion), Saturday, 1 October 2011 22:24 (fourteen years ago)

It was slow imo. It's like they've gone right, we made this "Tammys" promise, let's get it over with.

Autumn Almanac, Saturday, 1 October 2011 22:39 (fourteen years ago)

i felt like they did all these 720 jokes already and the detlef schremph isn't it funny that this guys knows a lot about business stuff joke was lame. weak episode.

mizzell, Saturday, 1 October 2011 23:08 (fourteen years ago)

yeah the "praire drinkoff" was really stupid too. But whatever, let's move on.

Matt Armstrong, Saturday, 1 October 2011 23:32 (fourteen years ago)

i feel bad for adam scott, he's really getting painted into a boring pattern of always going "hey these characters are being crazy/irresponsible, i should point it out!"

some dude, Sunday, 2 October 2011 00:06 (fourteen years ago)

yeah if this was all they had planned for him they should have just kept Paul Schneider!

Matt Armstrong, Sunday, 2 October 2011 00:08 (fourteen years ago)

drink-off gives the glory that is Amy Poehler playing drunk and going "everybody pants now pantspantspantspantspants" and if that's weak then y'all are crazy

billy, Sunday, 2 October 2011 04:32 (fourteen years ago)

I felt stuff like "jail, ron!" and "you literally are a gold digger" fell flat, but that snarky b-ball players, neutered wimp Ron and drunk Leslie were enough to keep the ep afloat

waaaaay better than the Office ep! whoa!

revelatory juxtaposition there, bro (Drugs A. Money), Monday, 3 October 2011 16:34 (fourteen years ago)

the great line wasn't "Jail, Ron! Ron, jail! Jail! Jail!", it was Ron's response

Chris/Ann was surprisingly funny, I thought I was going to get tired of it at some point

loved every moment of the prairie drink-off, from "everybody pants now" to April's tag-in

Well then.

she started dancing to that (Finefinemusic), Thursday, 6 October 2011 20:35 (fourteen years ago)

gotta wonder what sort of person does such a thing

Ravaging Rick Rude (a hoy hoy), Thursday, 6 October 2011 20:37 (fourteen years ago)

that chest hair is truly disturbing.

This Public radio cold open...

The Man With The Flavored Toothpick (C. Grisso/McCain), Friday, 7 October 2011 00:32 (fourteen years ago)

"oh yes, they are awful. but they are lesbians, so..."

flesh, the devil, and a wolf (wolf) (amateurist), Friday, 7 October 2011 00:32 (fourteen years ago)

Pawnee's version of "Fresh Air"!

DaTruf (Nicole), Friday, 7 October 2011 00:32 (fourteen years ago)

The only thing that worries me about this show, which I love, is whether they might make a hero out of a Libertarian. Are the writers so inclined?

trapdoor fucking spiders (dowd), Friday, 7 October 2011 00:58 (fourteen years ago)

South Park is built on trumpeting libertarian values and it's still funny, so...big deal.

Aubrey Plaza is getting hotter by the second.

Johnny Fever, Friday, 7 October 2011 01:18 (fourteen years ago)

The only thing that worries me about this show, which I love, is whether they might make a hero out of a Libertarian.

Hero? Funny is funny and relatable/sympathetic characters are relatable/sympathetic characters, strident belief systems bedamned.

Work Hard, Flunky! (R Baez), Friday, 7 October 2011 01:29 (fourteen years ago)

ugh you guys liked the NPR spoof?

max, Friday, 7 October 2011 01:53 (fourteen years ago)

Best part of the cold open was the announcer, who actually sounded like a NPR voice. Castellaneta's character embodied that hoary stereotype of NPR dudes as touchy-feely liberal wimps.

jaymc, Friday, 7 October 2011 02:38 (fourteen years ago)

Which I'm not saying is 100% groundless, but it was written and played too broadly to be recognizable.

jaymc, Friday, 7 October 2011 02:40 (fourteen years ago)

When they first started the cold open I immediately thought of Garrison Keillor.

Mordy, Friday, 7 October 2011 02:44 (fourteen years ago)

liked aubrey plaza's one word shutdowns with Anne. And of course Joan Calamezzo is always welcome.

Matt Armstrong, Friday, 7 October 2011 02:59 (fourteen years ago)

oh yeah and the val kilmer line

Matt Armstrong, Friday, 7 October 2011 03:01 (fourteen years ago)

great moment

banana mogul (goole), Friday, 7 October 2011 03:43 (fourteen years ago)

I like the idea that Nick offerman was really breaking there and they put it in

Waxahachie Swap (Jimmy The Mod Awaits The Return Of His Beloved), Friday, 7 October 2011 03:55 (fourteen years ago)

Yeah, I imagine they just rolled for a bit while Aubrey used a few different names as the button on the joke and Lester is the one that made him crack.

Johnny Fever, Friday, 7 October 2011 03:57 (fourteen years ago)

ha ha, sepinwall revealed what's been up with rob lowe's hair this season, apparently it's to mask the fact that's he's also filming a lifetime movie where he plays drew peterson:

lite-brite phrenology (reddening), Friday, 7 October 2011 06:04 (fourteen years ago)

god, creeeeeepy!

Johnny Fever, Friday, 7 October 2011 06:08 (fourteen years ago)

this episode was nine times better than the last two

front-man for British post-punk turned pop chart-topper’s, Scritti Polliti (sic), Friday, 7 October 2011 08:06 (fourteen years ago)

OK, I just listened to a few minutes of Bookworm with Michael Silverblatt on KCRW, and I take back what I said about Castellaneta's character.

jaymc, Friday, 7 October 2011 13:34 (fourteen years ago)

lol

Ann was awesome this episode, I don't know why I gravitated towards that totally unimportant story line but it was great

also lol @ the dancers and Chris's reaction to them

the tax avocado (DJP), Friday, 7 October 2011 14:05 (fourteen years ago)

extra lol @ Chris at the Eagleton records office, Lowe was really killing it

the tax avocado (DJP), Friday, 7 October 2011 14:05 (fourteen years ago)

i like that they're making andy somewhat competent, last week he thought of going to ron's mom (unsuccessful but a reasonable idea), this week he got the birth certificate for leslie.

i cracked up at the "gotcha!" sticker on the back of leslie's book. and all the crazy people at the book-signing. another good episode.

congratulations (n/a), Friday, 7 October 2011 15:01 (fourteen years ago)

andy is my favorite character by a long shot

max, Friday, 7 October 2011 15:13 (fourteen years ago)

IIRC, Schur has said that Pratt is the best improviser in the cast. Apparently, this wasn't in the script:

jaymc, Friday, 7 October 2011 15:28 (fourteen years ago)

yeah that was like my #1 lol of last season

max, Friday, 7 October 2011 15:29 (fourteen years ago)

That's still funny and I've seen it 50 times!

Johnny Fever, Friday, 7 October 2011 15:39 (fourteen years ago)

loved when ron and (aubrey) started to warm up to ann's hospital talk. what did ron say? like "no. speak." or something

banana mogul (goole), Friday, 7 October 2011 15:42 (fourteen years ago)

The NPR announcement "providing umbrella hats for homeless people when it rains"...omg I died

Janet Snakehole (VegemiteGrrl), Friday, 7 October 2011 15:46 (fourteen years ago)

the dan castellanetta stuff was pretty broad but i like that they bothered to make the fake norwegian lesbian tribal music

congratulations (n/a), Friday, 7 October 2011 15:47 (fourteen years ago)

i thought it was pretty good norwegian lesbian tribal music tbh

banana mogul (goole), Friday, 7 October 2011 16:00 (fourteen years ago)

yeah i liked it!
