I added Cabaret to my Netflix Qwikster queue. We'll get to the bottom of my feelings on that movie.

I have at some points in my life been obsessed with sports, never so with movies.

Je55e, Thursday, 29 September 2011 18:54 (fourteen years ago)

thank u

yung huma (J0rdan S.), Thursday, 29 September 2011 18:58 (fourteen years ago)

We use a chalk board to keep track of who's waiting. If we're busy you may put your name on the list and go out for a while (please note- door is locked promptly at closing time). Clients are welcome to request the barber of their choice. If you are requesting a specific barber please write and circle his or her initial after your name on the chalk board when you sign in.

Anakin Ska Walker (AKA Skarth Vader) (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Thursday, 29 September 2011 18:59 (fourteen years ago)

i really dislike chalkboards

yung huma (J0rdan S.), Thursday, 29 September 2011 19:00 (fourteen years ago)

which i believe can be traced back to me eating chalk on a dare on the last day of 7th grade

yung huma (J0rdan S.), Thursday, 29 September 2011 19:00 (fourteen years ago)

Maybe patrons can chip in for dry erase boards.

(which I'm not much fond of either: I have to remind myself to pack a marker)

Anakin Ska Walker (AKA Skarth Vader) (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Thursday, 29 September 2011 19:01 (fourteen years ago)

EW DRY ERASE BOARDS ARE THE DEVIL'S WORK.

but i also love chalk— rock-climbing and playng massive amounts of pool have made me love it.

Sophomore subs are the new Smith lesbians. (the table is the table), Thursday, 29 September 2011 19:08 (fourteen years ago)

I love dry erase boards b/c erasing them is so satisfying. And so is marking on them. You have a white surface, you lay down a dense mark of color, and then you wipe it and it's all white again!

Alfred, why did you quote that?

Je55e, Thursday, 29 September 2011 19:49 (fourteen years ago)

my friend has a giant chalkboard in his kitchen and I'm really jealous of it

corey, Friday, 30 September 2011 00:29 (fourteen years ago)

You should paint one of your walls with chalkboard paint.

Je55e, Friday, 30 September 2011 01:59 (fourteen years ago)

u guys it is so nice out

surm, Friday, 30 September 2011 02:53 (fourteen years ago)

i want to scream into the wilderness it is so nice

surm, Friday, 30 September 2011 02:53 (fourteen years ago)

it was crazy windy earlier — kind of fun to bike in before getting an eyeful of street grit and leaves

corey, Friday, 30 September 2011 03:19 (fourteen years ago)

YES THE WIND

caps unintended but necessary

surm, Friday, 30 September 2011 03:41 (fourteen years ago)

I was just thinking about how it is ALWAYS windy in Chicago. It's especially windy today - even now - but the air is never still here. It feels a little weird when it stops.

Je55e, Friday, 30 September 2011 04:03 (fourteen years ago)

that is great. i'm really not all that into still air. wind is one of my favorite things, even tho MY element is rain.

surm, Friday, 30 September 2011 04:35 (fourteen years ago)

(they do go together after all)

surm, Friday, 30 September 2011 04:35 (fourteen years ago)

I like rain... when I'm inside and don't have to be anywhere.

corey, Friday, 30 September 2011 04:37 (fourteen years ago)

it's nice. water in general is really a good thing. in fact my first ILE thread was

What is your favorite thing to do with water?

surm, Friday, 30 September 2011 04:40 (fourteen years ago)

Wow, this is a retweet from last night orig a local weatherman:

Gusts 45+ mph tonite; 60 mph ovr open lake wi 18-20 ft. offshore waves.”

Je55e, Friday, 30 September 2011 13:51 (fourteen years ago)

Is Gordon Lightfoot still alive? We might need him.

Je55e, Friday, 30 September 2011 13:52 (fourteen years ago)

that's hot
