Man, the "Farm" entry on Wikipedia continues to annoy me. Fucking vegans defaced it with statements about "dairy farms are places where female animals...are exploited as though they were objects."

One more day of reprieve, Edens construction doesn't start until 10 PM tomorrow night.

jon /via/ chi 2.0, Thursday, 27 September 2007 12:20 (eighteen years ago)

That doesn't seem right either ... what would be south of Fullerton? Humboldt Park?

n/a, Thursday, 27 September 2007 12:20 (eighteen years ago)

I like Quenchers, except for the name, which I find dumb, and the guy who kept reaching into the popcorn thing with his bare pee paws instead of using the scoop, which I found repulsive.

I am not talking about the Commerce Clause on the internet.

Jenny, Thursday, 27 September 2007 12:21 (eighteen years ago)

i wish there were a place i would feel comfortable dancing. i LOVE dancing. more specifically, i love dancing with people i know. dancing with people i don't know is considerably less fun.

quenchers sounds like a really bad north carolina bar. i know it's not, but it sounds like one. to me.

La Lechera, Thursday, 27 September 2007 12:26 (eighteen years ago)

Place for dancing: Chic-a-go-go. Plus you get to be on TV.

n/a, Thursday, 27 September 2007 12:27 (eighteen years ago)

And they tape on Saturday morning, when you have energy.

n/a, Thursday, 27 September 2007 12:28 (eighteen years ago)

Humboldt Park is pretty big, but I don't remember seeing maps that showed it going that far North.

jon /via/ chi 2.0, Thursday, 27 September 2007 12:28 (eighteen years ago)

you don't get it. i do NOT want to be on TV.

also i work sat. mornings.

watch as logan square gets bigger and bigger as real estate prices rise

La Lechera, Thursday, 27 September 2007 12:30 (eighteen years ago)

The answer to the dancing issue is:

More weddings.

Jenny, Thursday, 27 September 2007 12:33 (eighteen years ago)

LaL OTM re: ever expanding Logan Square

jon /via/ chi 2.0, Thursday, 27 September 2007 12:34 (eighteen years ago)

watch as logan square gets bigger and bigger as real estate prices rise

or watch logan square get smaller as realtors make up fake names for the nice parts of logan square and divide up the neighborhood.

cray-cray
Ha ha ha, John.

Ok, so this is the second time I've seen the word felch this week, so I finally looked it up in a slang dictionary online. I already wish I could go back to the halcyon days of not knowing.

Jordan, What is the vacay for? A tour? Something else?

I love love love dancing and I will go dancing whenever whereever with you people. Just name a date and place.

KitCat, Thursday, 27 September 2007 13:34 (eighteen years ago)

Jeff, How old are you now? Just 29, right?

KitCat, Thursday, 27 September 2007 13:35 (eighteen years ago)

Colette - I was searching old threads about BOOTS because I have boots on the brain, and I found this pair of boots you posted which look alot like the ones I first posted upthread. How were/are they?

KitCat, Thursday, 27 September 2007 13:39 (eighteen years ago)

Jeff has to be 28 or younger, because he is younger than me.

n/a, Thursday, 27 September 2007 13:41 (eighteen years ago)

Nick, when did you say before is the best time to ask for something from your boss?

KitCat, Thursday, 27 September 2007 13:50 (eighteen years ago)

I don't think I did say?

n/a, Thursday, 27 September 2007 13:52 (eighteen years ago)

Because I don't know?

n/a, Thursday, 27 September 2007 13:52 (eighteen years ago)

Weird. I thought you'd done a story on it or something. I remember that one good time is after he/she has had their coffee for the day, but my boss doesn't drink coffee.

KitCat, Thursday, 27 September 2007 13:53 (eighteen years ago)

Jordan, What is the vacay for? A tour? Something else?

pseudo-tour, the same overseas jazz festival we did a couple times before except a week longer this time

Jordan, Thursday, 27 September 2007 14:29 (eighteen years ago)

Where will you be heading this time? Do you know?

KitCat, Thursday, 27 September 2007 14:32 (eighteen years ago)

The main thing is in Ascona, Switzerland, but we'll be there a week ahead of time to go around a do promo shows in nearby towns and in Northern Italy, I think.

I've still never been on a real tour (which in my mind = longer than 5 days and playing every show in a new place) but it's a pretty cushy gig. :>

Jordan, Thursday, 27 September 2007 14:35 (eighteen years ago)

We auditioned a new pianist last night. Apparently he knows Dan M. from back at MTU, although not well, I don't think. (When I mentioned Dan's name, he said, "Oh yeah, he worked at the radio station. And hung out with this whole H0ught0n High Sch00l crew." His name is J0sh Schn@ble. We knew him because he's dated two separate K College alums. Michigan gets smaller and smaller.

jaymc, Thursday, 27 September 2007 14:44 (eighteen years ago)

(Not sure yet whether he will actually join the band or not. That's a whole other conversation.)

jaymc, Thursday, 27 September 2007 14:46 (eighteen years ago)

Dan has a common name too though.

KitCat, Thursday, 27 September 2007 14:48 (eighteen years ago)

Wait, are you suggesting there was another Dan M. from H0ught0n who worked at the radio station at MTU?

jaymc, Thursday, 27 September 2007 14:49 (eighteen years ago)

I don't know of any other Dan Martin's at Houghton High. We didn't grow up in a very large place.

sisut, Thursday, 27 September 2007 14:56 (eighteen years ago)

argh, inappropriate apostrophe.

sisut, Thursday, 27 September 2007 14:56 (eighteen years ago)

Ignore me. I'm blinded by my Sarah J0hnson past.

KitCat, Thursday, 27 September 2007 14:56 (eighteen years ago)

Dan has a common name too though.

It's actually quite exotic in Michigan.

Jordan, Thursday, 27 September 2007 14:58 (eighteen years ago)

Yeah, I mean, if he had said, "Oh I totally know Dan Mart1n, he was this big-time goth in the theatre department," I would've said, "Er, probably a different Dan Mart1n."

jaymc, Thursday, 27 September 2007 14:59 (eighteen years ago)

Morning, crew. I came in 45 minutes late today, because I knew I could. Everyone is either at a meeting or on vacation. My immediate boss is out for a week, and my higher-up boss is going to be too busy to mess with me for a while. It's sweet. I think instead of dicking around all day, I might actually catch up on some old, languishing projects.

I am not talking about the Commerce Clause on the internet.

That's too bad, but I understand. It seems... um... complex. Worthy of a never ending series of debates. Which, I understand, is pretty much what goes on between the Supreme Court and Congress. :(

kenan, Thursday, 27 September 2007 15:00 (eighteen years ago)

hahaha holy shit

dan m, Thursday, 27 September 2007 15:00 (eighteen years ago)

Do you remember this dude?

jaymc, Thursday, 27 September 2007 15:15 (eighteen years ago)

Yeah, we had a class together and he dated a friend of mine for a while. We were never like super tight but we had a lot of friends in common. He was friends with 3rica too.

dan m, Thursday, 27 September 2007 15:21 (eighteen years ago)

I'm so glad that no one from any of my high schools is ever going to turn up in Chicago.

n/a, Thursday, 27 September 2007 15:24 (eighteen years ago)

I pretend they all live in myspace fairyland (except for Sarah).

KitCat, Thursday, 27 September 2007 15:27 (eighteen years ago)

Hi Sarah I was going to tell you something but I forgot it again.

n/a, Thursday, 27 September 2007 15:28 (eighteen years ago)

Oh yeah it was that I think maybe the repost limit on Craigslist is 48 hours, not a week, so I might be able to repost my ad tonight.

n/a, Thursday, 27 September 2007 15:28 (eighteen years ago)

Not very interesting I guess.

n/a, Thursday, 27 September 2007 15:29 (eighteen years ago)

I think I need more coffee.

n/a, Thursday, 27 September 2007 15:29 (eighteen years ago)

It IS interesting, Nick!! I was actually wondering that this morning!

OMG!

Wow!

(The silliness is directed at myself, not you.)

Jesse, Thursday, 27 September 2007 15:32 (eighteen years ago)

I have a ton of shit to put on Craigslist. I should actually use Chicago thread to sell things too!
