J0rdan, if you're living in gayton, then you're close to Gabby's, a really great barber shop that charges $14 for a haircut. When I first moved here I asked people at each of my two jobs where to go for haircuts and got a lot of recommendations for them. It's got that old-timey theme that you might think would be obnoxious or pretentious, but it's super laid-back, casual, and friendly. I go to Cathy, and a couple former co-workers go to RJ. RJ is kind of hunky and straight who brings his gorgeous dog, and who is really soft-spoken, but sweet (I've seen him hug clients, and one of his gay clients gave him a hug and peck on the cheek). The other barbers are two gay guys in their late 40s-50s and a young punk guy.

I actually went to a gay bar for the first time since I moved back here, ohhh, a year ago? (My mid-evening journey with Stevie D to an empty Pony doesn't count, except for the experience of seeing its amazing cock-spangled interior.)
