A mad dog loose among peaceful nations. There's only one way that narrative ends. As we've seen.

A nagging concern must be, Who do we get to replace Qaddafi? Not in geopolitical terms, but as a propaganda savage. Syria's Assad seems like the next target, though that would be a tougher production.

The Obama administration never had to bother with any wartime propaganda because they experienced almost no resistance from the right or from the media w/r/t the intervention. The idea that they used Qaddafi to advance some political agenda and that now they need some new scapegoat is really silly.

Watched All The President's Men last night with someone who hadn't seen it. It'd been ages for me, so the film felt fresh as well. Not only is ATPM a time capsule in style and subject matter (remember investigatory journalism?), it reinforces how imperial corruption has sharpened.

By election day, the only way decent Americans can forestall a Nazi putsch is to give Obama another term.

Assuming Perrin's point is that Fey-on-Fallon is inauthentic (which wasn't necessarily obvious to me), I wonder what about her recent appearance made him say this. I realize that there's an element of theatre in all talk-show appearances, but Fey and Fallon seem to have such an easy, genuine camaraderie.

Social justice is slow, halting, boring, and decidedly unsexy. Fuck it. I'll just vote Democrat.
