I have little doubt that the "American research" this guy cited in Trayce's post was originally floated as anti-abortion propaganda, which he is adapting to become misogynist propaganda.

My favourite right-wing line of attack: Oh you lefties say you're so TOLERANT and COMPASSIONATE and DECENT but sometimes you are not those things, whereas we're happy to be total shits 24 hours a day, which makes us morally better if you think about it.

Mordy, I hate to break it to you, but cheering at a person's death is still considered extremely rude by large swaths of humanity, unless that person was objectively as terrible as your average serial killer, and even then you should keep the cheers to a brief and decorous, unless you were related to that person's victims.

Probably the usual couple of jerks blown out of proportion. I didn't see much of it, although I saw much satisfaction expressed, which is a milder form of the same thing. But here Mordy seemed to be sliding toward saying that actual cheering was justified in Beetbort's case, because he was "terrible".

There was a lot of crowing on Twitter and a couple of high-profile writers - Taibbi, Yglesias - who took the reap-what-you-sow line, esp irt to Breitbart's comments on Ted Kennedy's death. I was with the latter.
