er domenech even

r|t|c, Monday, 19 September 2011 09:24 (fourteen years ago)

does that make Steve Bould worth more than 150/1 because... free money?

What is Pelligrini up to these days? Still kicking around pretending to give a fuck at Malaga?

Ravaging Rick Rude (a hoy hoy), Monday, 19 September 2011 09:55 (fourteen years ago)

Arsenal should absolutely NOT follow Wenger's personal recommendation on this one

Ismael Klata, Monday, 19 September 2011 09:55 (fourteen years ago)

Replacing Wenger with Domenech would be like replacing Fabregas with Arteta or Nasri with Benayoun.

Matt DC, Monday, 19 September 2011 09:55 (fourteen years ago)

If we still only have four points after eight games get 'arry in to do a job.

James Mitchell, Monday, 19 September 2011 09:56 (fourteen years ago)

FUCK I'd LOVE to see Piksi Stojkovic at the Emirates...a childhood hero

Until it goes tits up

Master of Treacle, Monday, 19 September 2011 10:02 (fourteen years ago)

Replacing Wenger with Domenech would be like replacinhg Fabregas with Dioufy

Ravaging Rick Rude (a hoy hoy), Monday, 19 September 2011 10:44 (fourteen years ago)

Harsh on Diofy there

Juice Should Be Sterliized (Tom D.), Monday, 19 September 2011 10:45 (fourteen years ago)

How about replacing Wenger with Dioufy though?

Ismael Klata, Monday, 19 September 2011 10:56 (fourteen years ago)

like replacing fabregas with domenech?

Gary Numan, or Gary Fletcher (ken c), Monday, 19 September 2011 11:04 (fourteen years ago)

Having one nutcase at the helm is surely enough for the Arse's long suffering fans?

Juice Should Be Sterliized (Tom D.), Monday, 19 September 2011 11:04 (fourteen years ago)

Fulham fans doing "the Poznan" after equalising against Man City. pretty funny.

spellcheck is really advanced these days (cajunsunday), Monday, 19 September 2011 11:34 (fourteen years ago)

That reminds me - has Harry Enfield got a new catchphrase or does he still just tediously go "ONLY MEEEEE!!!"?

James Mitchell, Monday, 19 September 2011 12:15 (fourteen years ago)

Replacing Wenger with Domenech would be like replacinhg Fabregas with Dioufy

You spelled benayoun wrong.

When a German communicates, you listen (LocalGarda), Monday, 19 September 2011 12:24 (fourteen years ago)

joke's been done already today.

Replacing crouch with adebayor otoh

talking heads, quiet smith (darraghmac), Monday, 19 September 2011 12:43 (fourteen years ago)

honeymoon period.

bet you crouch will score more goals over two seasons than ade.

Upt0eleven, Monday, 19 September 2011 12:46 (fourteen years ago)

Anybody other than Crouch and I'd say that was a safe-ish bet.

Louis Jaha (Noodle Vague), Monday, 19 September 2011 12:49 (fourteen years ago)

two seasons? He's only on loan!

Crouch will score, at a maximum, ten goals per season at stoke. This will not make up for his general level of performance.

talking heads, quiet smith (darraghmac), Monday, 19 September 2011 12:54 (fourteen years ago)

i'm betting on ade being a lazy fucker rather than crouch being remotely competent. the casual manner in which he claimed his first goal yesterday would make me nervous if i was you.

Upt0eleven, Monday, 19 September 2011 13:04 (fourteen years ago)

buuuuuut Sky Sports commentary had that it was a stroke of watchmaker-like intricate skill, and you can't both be right now

the wrong terry to fuckwit (DJ Mencap), Monday, 19 September 2011 13:38 (fourteen years ago)

Okay so I was watching American football yesterday and was kind of surprised to see FOX making a big deal out of broadcasting the Man U/Chelsea match. I mean, getting any kind of real football on any non-ESPN 2, FOX Soccer Channel is a huge deal, made more striking to see it promoted so heavily during American football. Of course, this "broadcast" was tape-delayed and shown at 12:30 am, but, uh, I guess inroads?

jon /via/ chi 2.0, Monday, 19 September 2011 13:42 (fourteen years ago)

cool, we need more yanks on ilf tbh, it gets quiet at night imo.

Ade's first goal yesterday was brilliant?

talking heads, quiet smith (darraghmac), Monday, 19 September 2011 13:45 (fourteen years ago)

Crouch will score 20 goals in the Europa League this season as Stoke rampage to the semi-finals, which will distract from the paltry three goals in the Premiership.

Matt DC, Monday, 19 September 2011 13:49 (fourteen years ago)

I lurk the ILF tons, but being a Yank who, as of now, doesn't have Fox Soccer Channel and only has access to whatever game ESPN 2 decides to air, I don't feel like I have tons to add. That Blackburn/Arsenal game was thrilling though, even had my wife really into it.

jon /via/ chi 2.0, Monday, 19 September 2011 13:53 (fourteen years ago)

pfft i don't think we're adding anything ourselves, come on in and abuse a hoy hoy like the rest of us

talking heads, quiet smith (darraghmac), Monday, 19 September 2011 13:56 (fourteen years ago)

Serious q, I listen to the Football Weekly podcast with James Richardson to keep up with stuff and I really like it (particularly all the other people they bring in to cover other leages and Barry Glendenning's grouchiness), is this a good one to keep up with? Or should I give the Times one a shot?

jon /via/ chi 2.0, Monday, 19 September 2011 13:58 (fourteen years ago)

Ade's first goal was brilliant, but he wasn't that fussed about it.

And as for his lacklustre celebration after his second.... it doesn't bode well.

Upt0eleven, Monday, 19 September 2011 14:00 (fourteen years ago)

ayoboder

Jon, if you can't find the irish saturday night show 'the premiership' then you're already listening to second best imo

talking heads, quiet smith (darraghmac), Monday, 19 September 2011 14:04 (fourteen years ago)

eurgh yesterday was awful

Chris, Monday, 19 September 2011 14:05 (fourteen years ago)

but srsly, a striker tucking away 3 in 2 without looking fussed is a problem? His general play in each game was great.

talking heads, quiet smith (darraghmac), Monday, 19 September 2011 14:05 (fourteen years ago)

We're taking darragh and number none's word for it that this show actually exists btw xxp

Ismael Klata, Monday, 19 September 2011 14:06 (fourteen years ago)

Is San Te still supporting Liverpool?

Chris, Monday, 19 September 2011 14:10 (fourteen years ago)

Ravaging Rick Rude (a hoy hoy), Monday, 19 September 2011 14:10 (fourteen years ago)

Ha, was just thinking about that xp! Cruellest trick we ever pulled, that one.

Ismael Klata, Monday, 19 September 2011 14:11 (fourteen years ago)

I like the Times one if only because Moratti is turning into a grouchy old man and I like hearing the change from plucky fan of european football to someone who hates everyone.

Ravaging Rick Rude (a hoy hoy), Monday, 19 September 2011 14:11 (fourteen years ago)

wtf is harry playing at with levy/modric?

talking heads, quiet smith (darraghmac), Monday, 19 September 2011 14:40 (fourteen years ago)

He wants to keep our best player happy, what a scumbag.

Matt DC, Monday, 19 September 2011 14:51 (fourteen years ago)

ah cmon matt, his behaviour throughout just beggars belief ffs. Modric is on a good contract with years to run and spent all summer agitating for a move. Redknapo seems to be trying to needle Levy to no discernible end.

talking heads, quiet smith (darraghmac), Monday, 19 September 2011 14:58 (fourteen years ago)

jon, stick with football weekly. anything else is just pretenders

maxmombuffsnads (cozen), Monday, 19 September 2011 16:58 (fourteen years ago)

wtf is harry playing at with levy/modric?

was convinced during transfer saga that 'Arry's "He should go, I don't think he shd stay at Spurs" was a bit of dressing-room gamesmanship. If he didn't go, he didn't want to have alienated Modric. Same here. In private to Levy he'll be all "I quite understand if you don't want to pay him that, but I can't have him thinking that I think that." Hence odd public avowals where he sounds more like Luka's agent than manager. Or maybe he gets a cut or something idk.

Fizzles the Chimp (GamalielRatsey), Monday, 19 September 2011 19:09 (fourteen years ago)

one possible angle, yeah

alternatively, he's already putting pressure on for jan window, or moving to get excuses in early. Tho tbh i don't see how this does either of those things.

See, i don't think modric is gonna kick up between now and jan/summer, and he was as good over 90 mins against liverpool as i've seen him. Taking into account that he'll surely go within the timeframe of his current contract, i just don't know what's to be gained by harry constantly stirring this.

talking heads, quiet smith (darraghmac), Monday, 19 September 2011 20:01 (fourteen years ago)

looking forward to st. arsenaleringham's day this season

maxmombuffsnads (cozen), Monday, 19 September 2011 21:25 (fourteen years ago)

it will be a sad day i may wear a black armband

Ravaging Rick Rude (a hoy hoy), Monday, 19 September 2011 21:26 (fourteen years ago)

now arry's havin a go about how he wanted to keep woodgate. maybe the press are the only friends he has who will listen to his problems

mizzell, Tuesday, 20 September 2011 03:28 (fourteen years ago)

Harry might want to put Modric in a higher pay band in order to lift the ceiling on wages that stops Spurs attracting bigger-name players.

A little bit like Peter Crouch but with more mobility (ShariVari), Tuesday, 20 September 2011 07:39 (fourteen years ago)

maybe.

talking heads, quiet smith (darraghmac), Tuesday, 20 September 2011 08:05 (fourteen years ago)

not convinced it's a manager's place to get into the way a club's finances are run, and obv that goes quintuple in Arry's case

Louis Jaha (Noodle Vague), Tuesday, 20 September 2011 08:07 (fourteen years ago)

goes w/out saying, hence applying pressure from outside like this as opposed to being let near levy

talking heads, quiet smith (darraghmac), Tuesday, 20 September 2011 08:09 (fourteen years ago)
