I'm starting to think that Holly doesn't suspect that Walt is a drug dealer.

The out of nowhere reintroduction of Ted actually lends this theory some credence. We know Ted harbors a grudge against Ted, and that he's not a forgive and forget sort of guy. No doubt Walt has a long "to kill" list somewhere in his head and Ted is on it. Though I'm not sure I buy the plausibility of Skyler giving Ted $600K in cash. 'Cause if she does, Ted is going to take it and bolt, leaving Skyler to clean up his mess (with her name on it). Which is likely to happen, regardless.
Be nicely ironic if Ted turns to meth. But only the good stuff, you know. The blue stuff.

Walt, Ted, Hank, Gus, Mike, Saul ... Jesse must feel lonely as the only dude with a multiple-syllable name.

Jesse must feel lonely as the only dude with a multiple-syllable name.
Perhaps it's a metaphor for how the's the most complex personality on the show.

Marie, Skyler, Junior, that Romanian guy, and Badger beg to differ...
― some lady (La Lechera), Thursday, 15 September 2011 16:23 (fourteen years ago)
Jesse is a work in progress, whereas everyone else on the show does what they do.
― DSMOS has arrived (kenan), Thursday, 15 September 2011 16:26 (fourteen years ago)
I mean, if the theme of the show is that actions have consequences, and those consequences change people, Jesse is easily the most changed. And, Gus is hoping, changeable.

I don't get this thread. Is the purpose to play out every possible iteration of what could happen in the show?

ah come on they tease us into doing it. Not the baby thing, that's a boring line of discussion, but part of the fun of this show is getting into the language of it and figuring out the mechanics of what if X acts this way? and the chain reaction down to every character who's linked in their different ways. Also trying to figure out what's potentially relevant, like how Walt told everyone his current condition is just fine buuuut in such a way we're all picking it apart to see if he's bullshitting and what this might mean.
― kinder, Saturday, 17 September 2011 01:18 (fourteen years ago)
the funny thing about that is that yes, walt could be bullshitting, but otoh it just might be indicative of how fucked he's became that telling his family he's still in remission is just something that slips his mind and that he has to be prompted on. he's too wrapped up in trying to get jesse to poison gus.
― you've got male (jim in glasgow), Saturday, 17 September 2011 01:21 (fourteen years ago)
yah imo its no accident that this show is all about chain rxns

yes that also occurred to mexpost
― tehresa, Saturday, 17 September 2011 01:43 (fourteen years ago)
Knowing - or "knowing" - Walt, he's probably in a big hurry to make sure Gus is killed before he dies of cancer, not just for the assurance that Gus is not there to mess with his family, but also because he's an asshole who wants Gus dead.
― Josh in Chicago, Saturday, 17 September 2011 02:53 (fourteen years ago)

Ted is gonna die.

I didn't think it was possible to feel an ounce of sympathy for Walt at this point, but these canny motherfuckers - the writers, in tandem with Cranston - pulled it off. God damn.
